RIP Jani Lane... Poor guy HATED this song, but Warrant had to put out something "radio friendly", so this was it.
I heard it was like their "Paranoid". Just something they whipped up in a couple hours, and it ended up being their most commercially successful song.
This song is the definition of cheesy.I never knew he hated it but I always thought it’s a shame that most people only know the cheesiest song they wrote.
Yeah, find the clip on TH-cam with him talking about this song....he nearly breaks down because he was so sad this song would be his legacy. Unfortunately he was right.
Lane once said that that the Record Co. said they needed one more song for the album. This was the song and it was supposed to be a “throw away” song. But it became the hit. Lane hated it because it was trash but it ended up being his legacy…

This is actually a great, fun, rock and roll album. Everyone hated them because they thought this song was stupid, but you're not supposed to take it seriously. They're just havin' fun.
I never hated them, and this song is awesome. Saw them in concert a few years ago (they're still performing) and this was their encore song. Rocked the house.

What I really appreciate most about this song is the subtlety of the lyrics and the photographic imagery.
It is a parody song basically singing about how much fun and tasty her naughty bits are. Warrant is an iconic band, I am a mega fan of them and will recommend I Saw Red, Heaven, Uncle Tom's Cabin and The Down Boys. Oh, i have to go listen to them now. RIP Jani Lane. Wish we had more of your music to rave about. Peace.

I highly recommend uncle Tom's Cabin, which is based off of a true story and I saw red as well. Along with Heaven and Blind Faith as well.

@@BroomMirdon I suppose it's possible, but I didn't break any YT rules, and I've noticed a pattern. I've had similar comments deleted on this channel before. I've called them out on it, giving them the chance to set the record straight. They never respond telling me it was YT that deleted them so I can only assume it was them. And these are all comments explaining the sexual innuendoes that fly over their heads. I'm not even graphic about it, but since some of the songs they choose are, the explanations are bound to offend someone. If they don't like the song meaning they should skip the song. It seems one or both of them is uncomfortable with any hidden sexual content (or not so hidden in this case) being explained. I think they get embarrassed when they don't understand the innuendoes and try to cover it up...just a theory. They have every right to delete inappropriate comments but I don't feel mine are since they simply explain the meaning of the song in a blunt but censored way.
The funniest part of this video is how even before the end of the first verse a slice of cherry pie falls in the girls lap...you know, for the benefit of those who didn't pick up on the double entendre the first time.
My favorite song by them is, "I Saw Red" it starts off, like it going to be the greatest love song ever... until the chorus.

Jani Lane (the late Warrant singer) said he wrote the single on label demand... it blew up and defined Warrant & his career. Unfortunately, he grew bitter after Warrant lost popularity in the 90's...
'Cherry pie' is a fun song... the video is a classic. But Warrant is a good band for sure...

Jani was so beautiful and so talented. This is not my favorite song but I watched this because I love Jani. I miss him so much. They have so many great songs, "I Saw Red", " 32 Pennies", "Heaven", "Stronger Now", "Bitter Pill", "Sometimes She Cries", "Blind Faith", "Uncle Tom's Cabin", "Down Boys". Jani was an incredible lyricist/musician and also very tortured. We lost him way too soon to alcohol. He was Warrant, in my opinion. RIP Jani!
Jani Lane, who wrote this song, was a brilliant songwriter. Wrote dozens of amazing songs, and people only remembered this one. While he made peace with it before the end, it really saddened him.
Bitter Pill. Heaven. Down Boys. All My Bridges are Burning. Stronger Now. Family Picnic. Thin Disguise. So so so many amazing Warrant songs to choose from. I wish I could have told him.
Just an FYI Brad& Lex. Almost 99.9% of the time, ANY of these Melodic Metal bands from the 80's are talking about Sex.....Period. Hahahahahahahaha. Love you guys.

It's a paradox, but this is one of the saddest songs of the 80s. I've never forgotten watching Jani Lane talk about this song shortly before drinking himself to death. Very disturbing.

I just found you guys a couple of days ago, I really enjoy your video reactions, especially Brad trying to find the meaning of every song. I would like to see your reaction to Sugarland's Stay video, Brad won't have any problem finding the meaning in this one. I read somewhere, and I hope someone else can confirm this, that the record company asked Jani Lane to write another catchy radio type song. He originally wanted to name the album Uncle Tom's Cabin. He spent about 15 minutes...and wrote this song. What a genius. Still Jani did not like this song. It was a hit, but he never wanted to include it on the album. Jani, RIP. He was an awesome musician, singer, and song writer.

The singer (RIP) always hated this song and the fact that for most people this is the song that they think of when they think of Warrant. I think the label wanted a catchy single for the album and this was the result
Ok..The wife here..True True story..Went to see this band in 89 opened for Motley Crue..The lead singer jumped off the stage and started singing right to me..My gal pals were so jealous..Jeez I feel old..Rock on!!

The singer Jani Lane, and the girl Bobby Brown got married 6 months later had 1 child they stayed together for years he was a nerd very smart ,but he only dislike the song because he didn't want to be known as the cherry pie guy, he got addicted to alcohol and drugs he tried to get away from his addictions ,but failed they got divorced, and he died in a awful motel due to overdose it took a few days before his body was found. Bobby and thier daughter are doing great. She even was on a TV show about her and some of her friends about how it used to be and now. RIP JANI LANE. MUCH LOVE 💘

about 12-13 years ago, Warrant's current lead singer, Robert Mason, would do shows here in Phoenix and Tucson with his 80's metal cover band MetalHead.
We used to get to party with a real rockstar every Tuesday night and it was fuckin AWESOME, he snagged my roommate's motorcycle helmet from our table cause we were up front and had the guitarist wear it for a song, and then broke one of the plastic ad holder things on our table with it when he gave it back haha, fuckin wild shit. They'd get all duded up in spandex and crazy 80's wigs and shit, I've got pics of it if you'd like to check that out lol

Fun fact: This song was thrown together so fast they had Poison guitarist C.C. DeVille come in and record the guitar solo.
That wasn't the reason. On warrant's first two albums, neither of the band's guitarists played the solos, so they had Mike Slammer come over and do the solos, except cherry pie, where cc did the solo)

Back in the 80's I went to Las Vegas to meet a bunch of my friends from Minnesota. While we were partying a such in one of the casino's I got lost going to the bathroom and ended up in a restricted area and met Jani Lane the lead singer of this song at that time. He was so nice, and gave me a t-shirt and told security to leave me alone everything is good. We just talked briefly and I made my way to the right bathroom. Well, that's my Warrent story.
