Insieme con la sinfonia n.54 costituisce la vetta di un gruppo di opere che rispecchiano una superiore visione artistica, pur essendo ancora imbevuta dello spirito ardente dello Sturm un Drang. Questa sinfonia rappresenta inoltre il superamento della solennità "standard" legata alla tonalità di Do maggiore, associando la profondità delle idee con il suono splendido delle fanfare cerimoniali, il tono regale con le voci intime. Altre sinfonie in Do maggiore, come "l'Orso" (n.82), potranno superarla in equilibrio, nitidezza, armonia di proporzioni, ma non in sincerità e forza immaginativa. LDC

Who are you addressing - do you think Hogwood or the orchestra itself uploaded this? And what’s wrong with it? It fits the score and other performances I’ve heard. Maybe you’re not used to the idea of different conductors having different interpretations?
