Hope you enjoy this very mundane (but necessary) vlog hehe. What's better than a little reset and declutter though? Cheers to slow growth and trying to do the things we say we're going to do 💗

it’s been a year since you’ve posted this video and i think about it often. every time i remember the vague plan you laid out within the video it stirs something in my brain that says i should be doing something different. stop buying little things that i know i don’t need and start planning more for the future. not the super distant future- maybe the next 5-6 years. i’ve left my apartment due to unsafe living conditions, i’ve recently gone thru a breakup where i thought it would end in marriage, and now i’m feeling stuck in a grey area where i question what i want with my life. and when one thing stresses me out, everything stresses me out. quite frankly, i’m tired of the life lessons and am ready for the path that leads me to be my happiest self. so thank you christina for waking me up by simply sharing your story. excited to someday hear more of it :)

I always love this style of video because it helps me realize that other people are in the same boat I am. I’m getting ready to move out of a space I’ve been in for 4 years and the thought of decluttering is so overwhelming, but I was able to get a jump start of it while you’re video was playing. It was almost like I had someone here to motivate and support me.

It's WILD how much stuff we accumulate, but also almost too easy to! I'm totally right there with you. I did an initial big purge before the move, mostly of furniture and big pieces and now I'm like, ahhhh I have to do this again and again still whyyy haha 😹This makes me so happy to hear that I'm not alone too! Big hugs!

Wowowow, I sooo relate to this video and to these comments. A friend of mine called this time I also find myself in “a liminal space”. Thank you @sedonachristina for the encouragement and for the reminder to take breaks for rest and connection. ❤ You are not alone. I am not alone. We are not alone. Much love & gratitude!

@@katiemaxwell2560 Oh wow that's so interesting because I also had the thought recently that I'm in a liminal space in my life. I went through a lot of loss over the past two years and I'm still quite shocked by it. I've decided to just let myself be where I am and not try to rush into a new chapter before I feel ready. I'm starting with decluttering too and it really helps me to feel calmer and gain a bit more clarity.

Just last month I decluttered my entire apartment, downsized, and moved! I was also holding onto SOOOO many things because I wanted to get rid of them in an environmentally friendly way. I really tried, but honestly it takes a lot of time and effort and brain power that I just couldn't do it as well as I wished that I could. I felt so guilty, but in the end - I did what I could. We have to give ourselves some grace and compassion - nobody is perfect! The important things is that we try!

This video made me feel so SEEN! I’m moving to Colorado from Texas in like 6 months and the amount of crap I’ve accumulated in my apartment is ridiculous and I refuse to move across the country with it. But man is it overwhelming. The guilt you feel is about the same as what I’m feeling and what’s been weighing me down for a long time. I feel like I can tackle at least one of my spaces today, maybe a dresser?? That sounds doable. Thanks for sharing your experience and validating so many others in the process💖

As an indecisive person - decluttering before becoming nomadic was So emotionally exhausting. It seems like you have a really healthy approach and I appreciate you sharing it! The “super minimalist” declutter videos that were popular when I was first downsizing made it look so easy and quick and definitely were not sustainable- thankfully I didn’t listen to those people 😅

Having a baby really changed the way we buy, eat, basically live.
Then finding a home led us to starting off in a smaller home, to build our dream home.
But the minimalist life has changed us for the better and maybe this is good enough for us. ❤ I’m tired of being a consumer and want to better impact the environment.
Anyway I started watching you when I was pregnant and you helped a lot along the way. Thank you

give yourself Grace when decluttering. If you have an emotional attachment to something you dont have to give it up you can keep it until you are ready to declutter or you may have trauma if you get rid of it too soon. A hoarders heart on youtube talks on this and A to Zen life ( who is a minimalist) did a video on decluttering ruined my life. These are two opposite youtubers on the spectrum of homes. Take your time and its a process. You will declutter and declutter and declutter but its also ok to keep some sentimental items as well that may have no purpose at all.

Thank you for sharing your struggles...you are real. It helps to see ourselves in others, especially when we are struggling and think it's just us. A quote I found online that impacted me is: Perfectionism will kill your joy. For me this is so true. It is not as easy as it seems to let go of perfectionism, but it is what I am working towards. I want to embrace joy :)

So excited for your upcoming van life journey! Your videos and the thoughts you share always feel so relatable to me. My partner and I bought and built out a van a year ago and lived in it for six months before returning home. I absolutely loved life on the road. I could talk about van things all day, but some of my tips are - go for a non-fixed water tank. Being able to fill 5 gallon jugs at a grocery store, or carry them to a spigot makes life so much easier than only being able to fill up by hose. Good window covers are crazy expensive, but I never regret having them. And traveling in the Midwest is very underrated. We loved the coasts and mountainous states, but the Midwest was peaceful, easy to find legal parking overnight, and we swam in beautiful lakes everyday. Best of luck on your adventures!

    hi sedona!
this video crossed my path at the perfect time. i am currently building out a skoolie with my boyfriend. i am so excited for the outcome of being able to travel and live life on the road but right now feels like i’m stuck in the in between stage. I am working a full time job that often leaves me feeling burnt out and i know I will need to leave this job once the skoolie is finished. the thought of everything that has to get accomplished between now and getting on the road (and literally changing my lifestyle completely) is so overwhelming. I truly connected with your statement of growing slowly. i often get caught up with the outcome and expectations of a goal and instead of being patient with self on the journey, i get lost in my head, frustrated, self-doubt etc.
cheers to new paths ahead and enjoying the journey slowly! little by little. thanks for sharing sedona!!

When I was 23, me and my brand new husband (we'd gotten married 5 months prior) moved in with my parents so I could quit my job and go to school full time. We lived there for 3 years. Not the best start to our marriage, but it was worth it. I got my degree, we bought our own house, had babies, and will be celebrating 13 years of marriage on the 13th.
Moving back home is rarely fun, but (in my experience) it's worth it.

Hey there! I just wanted to share some of my experiences with ya. First, welcome to the Nomad Life!!! I have been a full time RVer for over 6 years and it has been amazing. A few things to know about the Nomad Life. Declutter is going to happen MANY times (even after you think you have nothing left). Avoid using glassware when you can (always breaks during travel). An Instapot will become your new best friend, and, lastly, you are likely going to have a mental struggle when you first move in to your van especially if you have never lived in confined spaces before. This is a wonderful and intense lifestyle shift that is going to throw a lot at you that you may never have considered. Be kind to yourself and know that everyone experiences this. You are not doing it "wrong" and every step is a step in the right direction. I hope this helps with your journey and, again, welcome to the community honey ❤️

I can relate to the feeling of transition and the stress and uncertainly that comes along with that. For me what happened was as health care provider I was caring for my demented grandparents the most and both grandparents and my pet rabbit died all in one week. So now 2 weeks later I'm still trying to figure out what's next for me on top of processing and grieving. I'm very slowly finding myself again after being burn out as well. It's heavy and scary and sometimes I just sit and cry under the weight of it all, but I know that this season as hard as it is, will lead to a healing that I desperately need. Hopefully sooner or later I'll know my next steps.

Ciao bella! At your stage, even accounting for thrifting and zero waste, you are in your acquisition phase of life. No wonder it is overwhelming to let go of things. Tip: find a women's shelter or a youth-at-risk shelter. (You will have to dig a bit with social services, because for obvious safety reasons - you can't find these houses in any Google search.) Your clothes, linens, toiletries and small furnishings could mean the world to people who have fled abusive situations with only the clothes on their backs. You'd be surprised how easy it is to walk away from your stuff when you know it will be such a gift.

Unfortunatly I searched several times but I couldn't find the video. Could you share the recipe again please? In my country I don't really think we have affordable zero waste shampoos that are sold close by (I don't have a car) and are 100% bio (mine now is 95% from natural origines (whatever that means) and is sold in plastic bottles (there is one shop in the whole country that does the refill but it's too far). Thank you and keep up the good work 😊 .

More stealth , and it’s about the adventure anyways. Space is important, an rv is huge and has the house feel but more gas, and might not fit through curves of Zion of big bear.

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenheartedand saves the crushed in spirit.
    Psalm 34:17-18
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
    Hebrews 11:6
For my father and my mother have forsaken me,but the Lord will take me in.
Psalm 27:10 (this was the first verse that made me feel loved and cherished, a sense of belonging)❤
I can truly feel your sadness and loneliness from here 😢❤ your mouth is smiling but your eyes are sad❤
I have been watching your content since 2018 and I can see a big difference in you. I just want you to know that you are not alone even when no one is around.. our Father in heaven loves you and is with you always♥️
I use to pack up and run away for a long time because I felt like I had no place in this world.. I was living in my truck “being one with nature” told myself my life is an adventure but felt lost and sad and very very alone.. after years of feeling that way I finally found God and he showed me grace, love, contentment, compassion, and purpose.
The fact was that I was running away from God❤
I’m praying for you and I love you sister❤
    God bless you❤❤❤

As a case manager for community members with mental illness, please trust me when I say, donate your clothing to shelters or non profit clothing stores. They won’t be thrown out. They’ll be appreciated and given to others for free.

Any update? I think your goal of achieving what you want can really only come after you become independently wealthy, in whichever fashion you can find. My impression is that a 9-5 job is not in your cards of life.
