First. PA turnpike is by far one of the most scenic drives

The PA Tpke is a beast after Carlisle all the way to Pitt. Not a very fun drive during the night or rain. The Ohio Tpke is a breath of fresh air after all the tight and curvy driving. Ok rant over ð
80 years old and still charging tolls...We should be very upset with our government.

I drove the PA Turnpike twice this week. Once from Pittsburgh to Trexlertown PA then back and across OH Turnpike. Landed in Marshall MI for a 34 hrs reset. Those tunnels are stressful for the first time. Not as bad the 2nd time. I will be glad when all the construction is complete. Thanks Tonya for the hard work of putting the videos together. The fall colors on the trees are amazing right now.
Driving the Allegheny Mts on the pa , parkway indeed is a beautiful ride . I was at the flight 93 memorial once , it was very quiet that day very revert. Had to laugh of the lonely outhouse, I would bet some desperate motorists was happy to see that . Enjoy all your blessings and ride safe! Enjoy the channel!

Driving that stretch of the PA Turnpike nowadays, assuming you're fully loaded, would cost you $211.90 without EZ-Pass ($105 with it.)

Sorry so far behind. Had relatives visit from Wisconsin and now getting ready for our trip to Malaysia for our nephews wedding. Quality video. You just have that eye to capture the moment and then the instant comment from Kevin which always works.
Wife and I did quite a bit of the same route just 2 weeks ago. But we started in the eastern part of Pa. Lots of great scenery on the Pa turnpike, especially the further west you go. We went through all of the tunnels. Great fall colors. State troopers were out in force the days we traveled. Fortunately beautiful weather and leaves changing. Great views looking down into the valleys. Hopefully all tunnels will get the new led lights. Can't understand why Pa didn't build showers for truckers like Ohio has when they overhauled their travel plazas. Thanks for the behind the scenes at the Ohio travel plazas. Always wondered what they looked like back there. Nice job by Ohio on their travel plazas. We always enjoy stopping at theirs. Hopefully one day in the near future Ohio will finish with their construction and allow us to pass through their tolls at highway speed. Sure becomes a nightmare at times. Lots of elevation changes on the Pa turnpike as you showed. Thanks for the great video.
We don't have toll roads out west (I'm in Idaho), and those lanes through the toll booths looks SOOO narrow. I'd probably suck in my belly going through them in a Semi-Truck, LOL :-)
BTW- Nice sound effect at the sign pause on Mile Marker 141.8. Too funny!!
Those toll booths give you about 6 inches on either side. Speed limit is 5mph through them.
When are you going to do another live stream, the first one was very good. Also think a trip up to that Walmart in New Hampshire would be nice some time in the near future. I am sure Kevin enjoyed the narrow roads and low bridges, anyhow enjoying your videos, take care and keep on truckin.

Do you know about plans to eventually bypass Allegheny Mountain Tunnel because of congestion and the current tunnels are in poor condition. Heading west as you were you would have veered to the left of the tunnels and over the mountain to get to the other side. The bridge for the Appalacian trail is the bypass of Laurel Hill tunnel that was opened in 1964. The salt dome hides the opening of the tunnel that you used to see from the highway.

So, interesting story for ya. My folks and I were standing at the Shanksville crash site on October 12, 2001. We saw EXACTLY where FLT93 went down. I'm here to tell ya, if you didn't know that a plane crashed there, you wouldn't have. There wasn't even as much as a rivit at that site. Just a big hole in the ground where the plane hit nose-first and straight in. Rather eery I must say. Lots more I could add, but this isn't exactly the place. We'll talk about it over some liver & onions someday. As always, travel safely...âðž

Hi Kevin!!! Thank you for 30 years law enforcement!!! We hear Jacksonville has a lot of crime so weâre glad you stayed safe! Werner inverter is 1500 watts. I (Tanja) have an APAP and there was no problem for power. Werner doesnât supply a fridge, but apparently you can buy one and they will put it in for you. Thatâs what we heard anywayâĶ We used a cooler for the year we were there.
We hope you and your wife have a wonderful experience. It does take some getting used to and there will be a steep learning curve, but we think itâs a great way to see the country, have adventures and get paid for it. It looks like Crete changes their required experience length so be sure to check with them periodically. More miles, money, and stress over here. But Werner is a good place to start!!!
