The connection between not micromanaging and जबाबदारीची जाणीव is a brilliant point. (46:54) I was good at academics but was micro-managed all my school and college life, so never developed that "जबाबदारीची जाणीव" according to my parents. The strangest part is that my parents said both "आपटलास की कळेल" and "हे करायला मिळणार नाही" which landed me in such a horrible situation for more than a decade in friendships & fields of work/interest. Now that I've started a job in the US in a very growing career, they want to continue micro-managing me but I'm barely holding it off. Totally agree! Dr Sathe goes in overdrive - she's cynical and prescriptive - and results in intimidating the other guest, and also the interviewer. Try telling her to sit away from the interviewer....

करियर निवडीमध्ये शिक्षण व्यवस्थेचा काय रोल आहे हा मुद्दा पण महत्वाचा आहे..10 किंवा 12 वी पर्यंत येईपर्यंत विद्यार्थी त्याच्या आयुष्याची 10-12 वर्षे शिक्षणात इन्व्हेस्ट करतो आणि तरी सुद्धा 10-12 वर्षा नंतरही त्याला करियर कुठलं निवडायच,मला काय आवडत किंवा करिअर निवडीच्या विविध क्षेत्राविषयी त्याला काहीच माहिती नसते तर मग या 10-12 वर्षात करियर निवड करण्यासाठी mentally, imotionaly विद्यार्थ्याला तयार करण्यात शिक्षण व्यवस्थेचा रोल काय?? हा सुद्धा महत्वाचा मुद्दा वाटतो...

Dr Sathe has a very academic approach....using terms and frameworks to "tell" parents and children "what to do". She might be more effective if she "suggests" and states her point of view in a more conversational mode. And please, let the other guest speak!!!!

Hello.. I really enjoy your podcasts.. khup chan.. I agree with ma'am.. she has made a brilliant point about exploring new fields.. I live in Germany and have noticed one thing about German school system.. in class 8th every student has to choose a field of interest and do a internship for 2 weeks.. in this 2 weeks he/she atleast get an idea where they like it or not.. what type of work is done just by observing and in 10th class they have to do an internship for 4 weeks.. atleast they get to know what are there interest and which field they should pursue.. I know it's a bit difficult in our indian education system.. but if the parents decide to take a bit initiative then the confusion will be reduced..

उत्तम चर्चा झाली.पण सांगावेसे वाटते प्रत्येक चर्चेत इंग्रजी शब्दांचा बेसुमार वापर होतोय. विषय सहज सोप्या मराठीत मांडला तर तो गावगाड्यातील लोकांपर्यंत विषय व अमुकतमुक पोहोचेल. निवेदक व येणाऱ्या तज्ञांनी हे काटेकोरपणे पाळावे.

Totally agree! Dr Sathe goes in overdrive - she's cynical and prescriptive - and results in intimidating the other guest, and also the interviewer. Try telling her to sit away from the interviewer....

करियर निवडीमध्ये शिक्षण व्यवस्थेचा काय रोल आहे हा मुद्दा पण महत्वाचा आहे..10 किंवा 12 वी पर्यंत येईपर्यंत विद्यार्थी त्याच्या आयुष्याची 10-12 वर्षे शिक्षणात इन्व्हेस्ट करतो आणि तरी सुद्धा 10-12 वर्षा नंतरही त्याला करियर कुठलं निवडायच,मला काय आवडत किंवा करिअर निवडीच्या विविध क्षेत्राविषयी त्याला काहीच माहिती नसते तर मग या 10-12 वर्षात करियर निवड करण्यासाठी mentally, imotionaly विद्यार्थ्याला तयार करण्यात शिक्षण व्यवस्थेचा रोल काय?? हा सुद्धा महत्वाचा मुद्दा वाटतो...

Dr Sathe has a very academic approach....using terms and frameworks to "tell" parents and children "what to do". She might be more effective if she "suggests" and states her point of view in a more conversational mode. And please, let the other guest speak!!!!

Hello.. I really enjoy your podcasts.. khup chan.. I agree with ma'am.. she has made a brilliant point about exploring new fields.. I live in Germany and have noticed one thing about German school system.. in class 8th every student has to choose a field of interest and do a internship for 2 weeks.. in this 2 weeks he/she atleast get an idea where they like it or not.. what type of work is done just by observing and in 10th class they have to do an internship for 4 weeks.. atleast they get to know what are there interest and which field they should pursue.. I know it's a bit difficult in our indian education system.. but if the parents decide to take a bit initiative then the confusion will be reduced..
