I do crate train them so they feel like they have a safe place of their own. Have to train potential adopters that crates aren’t jail for dogs.I do not allow them in the cooking part of the kitchen because it’s an open floor plan and I have a condition that can easily throw me off balance if I step awkwardly. I already had that happen when in the back yard introducing a new foster to the one who was already here. Resulted in a broken back. The cat still chooses to ignore all the memos though. I joke that they’ll find my body one day on the stairs with kitty bite marks everywhere because I didn’t get up to get his food. 😂
When I got my very own first dog in my own house I decided no dogs on the furniture. That lasted about ten minutes. I realized that I love my dog. So why was she on the floor and I was on the couch?
Poor pup pups! Not allowed in a person's bedroom?? When I was a child, the dog was not allowed in the dining room while we ate, so she would lie down in the foyer and put her front paw just over the dining room threshold. Even my father thought it was cute.

Seems to me that a lot of these rules are pretty ridiculous considering your pet is family!
