    Note: In the schematic from 1:05, the headband wires are switched around. So if you feel that your headphones sound weird, flip the red wire with the black one opposite of the schematic.

      Dude. I can’t stress how much of a life saver this is. I kept redoing it according to the wrong diagram and one ear would consistently be louder than the other. I just redid them and they work great!

    you are a legend, I was planning on buying open back headphones (not sure yet which), since i have done a cable mod on closed back headphones and i had enough space for the jack, I was wondering how I can do it if there isn't enough space because the akg style headphones put the cable in that small round compartment, but thanks to you I will go ahead get either a superlux headphone or a samson headphone and give it a try, thank you sir, and keep up the great work

    The diagram at 1:05 confused me and i soldered the red wire to the left piece of the headband. Now i have a channel imbalance slightly to the right. I only noticed this after supergluing the headphone jack. I will try to swap the cables in the other ear. Hopefully this fixed it.

      You can try searching for keywords like "3.5mm female headphone jack" and maybe include "screw" or "nut" to get a more suitable result. Just make sure the heapdphone jack is a 3 pole headphone jack (3 terminals). You can also try google image search as well, not sure if that would get you the best results tho.

    Hai bro. Great stuff. May i know where do the wires go on the headphone jack? U hv any schematics i can refer😆

    • @premishwarsaravanan7265
      @premishwarsaravanan7265  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The schematic at 1:04 would give you an understanding of the wiring of the whole headphone. Instead of the left, right and ground connections going to the cable, it would go to the headphone jack.

  • @dandlioof
    @dandlioof ปีที่แล้ว

    There are 3 prongs I'm not sure where to out the ground do I out it in the middle? Does it not matter?

    • @premishwarsaravanan7265
      @premishwarsaravanan7265  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure if you're talking about the female jack or male jack, but it does matter for both. You can look up diagrams online for the male jack and as for the female, I just used a multimeter in continuity mode to figure which terminal is left, right and ground.

  • @amielpatrickpunzalan3882
    @amielpatrickpunzalan3882 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Did it affect the sound quality for both the detachable and wireless? Are you an electronics Engineer? haha

    • @premishwarsaravanan7265
      @premishwarsaravanan7265  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Haha, I'm not an electronics engineer. Comparing wired and detachable cable, I did not notice any change in sound quality. But when using the wireless adapter, there was a slight drop in quality. That's probably due to the components I used not being the highest quality, which were from a pair of wireless earbuds. Also, nothing beats a solid wire connection.

    Hey bro this is a great video! I didn't plan to mod as it's probably a little above my comfort level.. But it's still amazing to see such a mod. Wish I had your level of expertise to carry it out, but it's a little advanced. My SR850s stopped working properly, i started getting sketchy sound, switching from left to right speaker, sometimes both. I opened them up (as seen 0:57 in your video) and tried a standard repair by soldering the red, white and black wires back in place on the contact points. It still doesn't work after I soldered them. Still get occasional sound if I randomly twist the wire, but only for a split second, then it goes quiet again. It's definitely the headset side which is the problem, not the ear jack side. Any idea how to fix? Or how I could test further to determine what the issue is? Because even with the wires seemingly soldered on, the sound is still sketchy.

      @@SanilShah1999 Lol.. well it was the wire lower down from the headset which was the problem. It was damaged and frayed so it would only make sound sometimes when I twisted it. Just by chance when the damaged wires would line up and connect. I should have realized that earlier lol.. So I just cut the wire shorter, below the damaged part, and then soldered the wires back to the headset as normal.
