Bobbie Eakes (GA) played Macy Alexander Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful and is now on All My Children; she was a judge at Miss World 1993 and Miss Teen USA 1996. Mary Stuart (AR) played Frannie Hughes on As the World Turns in the early 1990s, replacing Julianne Moore in that role.
Yolanda Fernandez was Miss Alabama back then (at 2:14); she would go on to be a news reporter and anchor on Channel 8 in the Tampa Bay area, and more recently has been spokesperson for the St. Petersburg police department.
I would love to see other segments of the pageant. I don't know why only parts of each pageant is available on youtube. I wish I had the entire collection of these past pageants.
It appears that full Miss America telecasts from the 50's, 60's and 70's don't show up on TH-cam. I have a collection of Miss America Pageant CD's. I'd be happy to send you a copy of the 1983 Pageant. Still hard to believe that Miss California has not won since.
That Miss Tennessee had on enough hairspray to deplete the Ozone layer and That Miss Kentucky--what a Beast! And those 80's pantsuits and hankys they were carrying, whose idea was that??? Debbie Maffet was great though, glad she won!
So was the case the prior year as well.. Miss Arkansas won both Miss America and Miss USA titles... The beauty and southern charm of Miss Arkansas Terri Utley shot her from10th place in the semi-finalist line up to the eventual winner that night...and to date...Arkansas's only Miss USA!!! Terry would represent the USA in Lima, Peru and place 4th runner-up to Miss Canada, Karen Diane Baldwin...Miss Universe 1992.
I don't know if Monica Hard was seen on the pageant, too. She later became Monica Hart on KIRO-TV in Seattle & had worked from 1986 to 1993. Since then, she hasn't made a return appearance to TV ever since.
Yeah, I'm guessing it was to add a splash of color, since they're all wearing white, but they could've tied it around their necks or something. Holding it in the hand is a little weird.

yeah kentucky had an interesting look, so matronly, but arizona was not that pretty to me, based on looks, she could have been a great contestant, I dont know how she made it.

South Carolina also had a Miss America (Kimberly Aiken) and a Miss USA (Lu Parker) in the same year as well in 1994.
