yeah I think it was the russians or germans that tried it. they strapped bombs to the back of dogs with large wooden levers to set them off so when they ran under tanks it would trigger the bomb. They trained them to look for food under tanks but when they tried to implement them in actual battle they were used to searching under their own sides tanks not the enemy tanks so they just turned around and bombed their own tanks.

So when field tested, these dogs immediately ran to the closest Soviet tanks instead of the enemy ones. Thankfully the idea was quickly dropped 😅
