I feel compelled to speak on her behalf (being from Southern Ohio myself and having watched her compete for the past several years). The first time I saw Kylan, she was giving up her title of Miss Columbus Teen as a 13 or 14 year old. She got to perform her talent (some sort of acro dance) in between event changes. It was insane! SO incredible and obvious that she had worked at that her entire life to be able to perform at that level! I watched her compete in locals for Outstanding Teen and also a couple times at Ohio Teen USA. She didn’t just get what she wanted. She worked and kept working. She built relationships with people in the pageant world and has developed skills just like hundred of other pageant girls do. And when I heard her answer the on stage question this year at Ohio Teen USA, I crossed my fingers that they would crown her and they did! I’m excited to watch her compete at Teen USA because she is a competitor!!! She’s cute and fun and has a contagious smile- the same one she had the years that she didn’t come out the winner. I think it’s important to also spread the message of “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” So I guess I just want to throw that out there. I don’t think she necessarily started on second base 💁🏼‍♀️ She just brought the competitor mindset to baseball practice every time and not just to the game.
    Also- CONGRATULATIONS on 100K!!!

Thanks so much! And thanks for sharing that back story. That's exactly why I wanted to mention that she's competed for years. She didn't just win OH Teen USA out of no where and she doesn't possess the confidence she has without effort. She's always had that contagious smile that you mentioned. I thought she was the cutest Junior Preteen queen at NAM. I'm excited for her and other contestants at Miss Teen USA.

“Never compare yourself to anyone!” Words of wisdom from a true Queen!!!❤️❤️❤️ loved the content Dani, I’d rather wear apparels, wardrobes or outfits from a Salvation Army or any thrift stores & make use of my sewing talents, make changes that will make it more fabulous looking that will pleases you and nobody else’s. That’s more impressive than wearing any designer pieces that so many people cannot relate or even afford specially in these trying times we’re living in. I just pray that some of our younger women find the strength from within to withstand such monsters like jealousy and insecurity. Til your next vlog 😘🥰😍

I wish that women wouldn't look at what a person has, material wise, and think that equates to happiness or success or popularity. yes, I am older and yes, I don't care what people may or may not think about me, but when you're able to step outside of yourself and see how fortunate you really are, maybe that will be viewed as wealth and popularity and success. Having a family that loves and cares for you. Having a roof over your head. Getting a great education. I wish those were the measurements that people longed to achieve. Gucci didn't raise my kids or put food on the table, so I could care less what she's wearing. Be like Dani..... travel, be successful, make a difference. Make yourself wealthy!

First and foremost, CONGRATS on reaching 100K followers. Hard earned and well deserved. And thanks for this frank and important video. In life there will always be others with advantages and it is easy to focus on that. Being able to reframe the situation and understand that the person is not their advantage nor are we our disadvantage is a good place to start. I recently worked in support of an early education program and used to speak to prospective employees about the children enrolled in our program. I would tell them, the children are full of two things, energy and potential; our responsibility is to use strategies and techniques to channel their energy so they can achieve their potential. That's it. As young and older adults we have the same opportunity we had when we were children but it is in our hands rather than those of our parents and teachers. We can make decisions, execute strategies and utilize techniques to help us get from where we are to where we want to be. That's not to say it's going to be easy or that it isn't going to require some sacrifice because it is going to absolutely. It's acknowledging, accepting, and even embracing the fact that our fate, and our destiny, is very much in our own hands. And yes you may have to work quite a bit harder than someone else to achieve the same result. In the end you'll have the pride of knowing that you did it, without accommodation, without nepotism, without an inside track, you made it happen for yourself. And that's something that no one can ever take away from you.

Girls, there are more to life than how many followers you have on social media or how many designer pieces you own. It’s sad to think that so many young women nowadays see those shallow things are a barometer for their self worth. Social media really is ruining an entire generation.

The only reason I am sticking my nose in this topic is because you said go ahead and share. OK - I have been following you since you were competing for Miss Montana USA and have grown your subscribers to this latest milestone. We are all happy for you. Me VERY much so. The lesson I have taken away is ALWAYS lead with kindness and I continue to carefully offer opinions if I comment to a vlogger like you or the few others I follow. Social media is something that I have VERY mixed emotions about. Being of a different generation my jam is TH-cam and it stops there. All the other platforms I do not subscribe to or follow. In modern pageantry I believe there is a shift to looking at a contestant and really learning about how that young woman is going to represent the brand and what they are going to represent with that reign. Of course, all the fun with the pretty clothes and styling are important to an extent but really what is the contestant about underneath all the pretty clothes and makeup. Your advice is something that is VERY important to relay to your subscribers who I believe are many young women interested in pageantry. The concept ABOUT not comparing yourself to others is KEY in that every single person on earth is viable and has the ability to choose to take a path and to forge their own way. It could take 7 tries to win a crown like you did or you can win your first time out. What has proved to be my golden rule is to take control of a situation when you feel you have NO control. Assert yourself and do what you need to do in order to feel like you are trying to achieve or change to a certain outcome. I have achieved a modicum of success in the US and continue to look forward and focus on myself and not let others around me influence or change the outcome. You are in control. Wise words to live by and you will do well by shutting out that noise and focusing on what YOU can do to achieve your dreams. I watched your whole reign and so was hoping you would have a reign that YOU controlled, and YOU enjoyed, and I watched you do it. Continue to lead by your example. Your messages are important to the young woman out there. Sorry for the long-winded message. Joseph from the US

In regards to Kalyn no one can hate on anyone who has found what makes them special and has truly tuned into what makes them shine. The trick is to find what makes YOU shine and do the work in yourself cause if you would you wouldn’t even notice people like that. Put the energy into yourself not others. Or if they really started on second base, you can always strike them out and push them in the mud… lol lol I’m TOTALLY KIDDING ❤❤ no she’s cute but totally beatable, like you said it just takes the mindset to be the best version on yourself and knowing yourself well enough to get there. I watch YT channels all over the spectrum of topics. But I've never seen a channel hosted by someone from MT before. That's awesome you are from a great state. I have relatives up there near Havre, MT (very rural) on the reservation. I am an old Gen X guy and Native American who was born and raised in rural AZ. But I lived in FL for 13+ years. As an older graduate student, I studied for an MPH at FSU while working for the FL DOH. There were southern sorority white women in some of the classes. Growing up in AZ, the media usually portrayed white southerners as virulently racist - especially white sororities. So, I used to cringe at the sight of them when I saw those Greek letters. I wouldn't even acknowledge their presence. I figured they were granddaughters of the old Kl-n of the 1950s.
But I was wrong. It turned out the nicest woman in the class to me was from a southern sorority. She was a white southern woman from Georgia. But she wasn't racist at all and actually befriended me - a big, brown Apache from rural AZ. I was very surprised but happy to learn that racism is not always present among them. Over time, I also met many people from other SEC schools like Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, etc. I actually dated a blonde southern belle. So, it was very unexpected but positive.
However, I am also a biomedical engineer. My concern in modern times about young influencers on social media is the excessive use of unnecessary plastic surgery. Right now, Kylan still has a natural appearance since she is very young. But I cringe at the thought of her using lip fillers by the age of about 22 or so. They start that young these days. To me, the unnatural appearance offsets their natural beauty. If you compare photos and videos of young women from the 1970s and 1980s and compare them to modern young female influencers, the lip fillers and other plastic surgery really stand out. For example, see classic music videos by "Pans People" during the disco era like "The Hustle". Their appearance was very natural compared to modern influencers. Going back to my background in biomedical engineering, they start to look like cyborgs with that excessive plastic surgery. I also know artificial tissue injected prematurely can have side effects. The Food and Drug Administration that monitors medical devices and synthetic tissue refers to side effects as "adverse events". There is a large database of adverse events for unnecessary plastic surgery. I wouldn't recommend it. The counter influencer, Brett Cooper, has multiple videos on the topic. Just google "lip filler" and "Brett Cooper" and you'll see the videos.
So, when I see the trending influencers, it's usually obvious to see the lip filler. I figure it's only a matter of time before Darnell starts using them unnecessarily. Going back to my studies at FSU for the MPH, I did research on the Vietnam War and Agent Orange. Plastic surgery in the 1970s was usually only applied in extreme cases for returning Veterans from Vietnam. Plastic surgery was done with soldiers wounded badly in combat: white phosphorous grenades, shrapnel from artillery, 3rd degree burns, amputations, gunshots, etc. The wounds to the face were often severe and required massive reconstruction. Plastic surgery was used only when necessary. But now, it's disturbingly common despite the lack of necessity.
As for jealousy, everyone gets old. I remember the teen pageant of 1990 when Christie Brinkley was hosting. At the time, she was past her prime going into her late 30s. She seemed uncomfortable among the young teen women half her age who were up and coming. Now, even those teen models of 1990 are old. Father Time catches up to everyone eventually - no need for jealousy.

The better question is why is a 26 year old woman comparing herself to a college student? That is pretty pathetic. As for the current Ohio Teen, she won't even make a dent at miss teen USA. She may under Paula but Crystle is very conservative. And truth is, unless you are a member of a historically underrepresented group it won't happen at usa or teen.

I feel like when it comes to us women having anything designer and luxurious especially when race gets put into the conversation…..it’s important to remember that when all of us were born, we didn’t asked to live the lives that we are currently living or grew up in. With Kylan, she’s a pageant girl which I’m assuming was something that her parents put her in….so that’s not her fault, especially if they had the money to do it which her family having money is also not her fault. She’s a beautiful girl more specifically a beautiful white girl but she never asked to be born beautiful or white when she was born. Kylan to me…..doesn’t come off as those typical bratty, stuck up, condescending college girls. She seems genuinely so sweet and positive, and I think because she’s beautiful, white, and rich….some people especially here in the black community might take that as “she thinks she’s all that, she’s rich and privileged” and have jealousy towards her. Of course we have our obvious reasons for why because sororities were created for the wealthy, white elite class so super rich and pretty white girls today definitely have better chances of making it…..but that’s not their faults, that’s just on some of their ancestors.

If Savanha Christly couldn't win MISS TENN USA as Miss Tennesee USA,I know why she didn't win. They always go for that girl next door. Both were beautiful and represented well at nationals,in their years.

Can Miss Teen USA be married, have children, or be pregnant?

ohhh that is a question I didn't even think about. As far as I know no, because Crystle Stewart now directs Teen USA, but I wonder if there would be a push for that down the road.

Well, she’s a beautiful young lady. The other woman is not as attractive as Miss Teen Ohio USA 🇺🇸 2022. The Teen beauty queen young lady has a great personality; she shows on social media the color woman's personality is not as outgoing. Big difference ☺️
