Thanos is just a monster in power. The scary part is that he’s also one of the smartest people in the universe too.
He’s so powerful they often forget about his technology.
The MCU actually had one of the weakest versions of Thanos, aside from the gems they made him just strong and durable.

Though the movies didn't really show how powerful base Thanos is, you can get an idea from the fact that despite the members of the Black Order each being formidable, they served Thanos and none dared go against him to try to acquire the Infinity Stones for themselves.
Before thanos power up in the newer comics, classic thanos was at least low complex multiverse level to hyperversal level and in the recent comics with his power up with the god corry, hes low outerverse level

I knew all this about Thanos, that’s why I can’t stand the movies portrayal of Thanos it’s a bad representation of the character. Ppl who Only know about the movie character don’t know the real Thanos & his prowess.

Exactly! I hate it when "casual" MCU fans state that Thanos is what the movies made him! My cat could beat the movie version of Thanos. Yet, the comic version is feared by every character in said comics. Thanos is literally the embodiment of Death. He cannot die and is singularly focused in his machinations. Every character treads lightly when confronting Thanos, even TOAA, for one misstep and your existence ends.

Everyone gets warm up sets. So we agree that hulk out lifts thanos.
Doom definitely has higher GPA both are smart. Who is naturally smarter is debatable. But doom outshines Thanos in discipline. Doom definitely type to hand in assignments early with a polished apple.

Honestly it drives me crazy how much it seems they’ve nerfed him in these past years leading up to and after his appearance in the MCU. His recent losses to Captain Marvel and Hulk would’ve never happened like.. any time before 5 years ago

The main reason why Thanos can do these things without the Infinity Gauntlet is due to (Terrible) (Writing) ! 😮
Or he could just be that strong! He's pretty consistently strong even without the gauntlet. Majority of his appearances are him without the gauntlet on if we're being honest!

Further,if he could defeat all of these Cosmic being without the Infinity Gauntlet, but needed the Infinity Gauntlet to defeat the Cosmic beings in the Infinity Gauntlet series then these writers have just undermine the power and the authority the Infinity Gauntlet gives someone ! There's a difference between soloing all cosmic beings at the same time and being able to hang with one cosmic being without the gauntlet one-on-one.
Base form Thanos as far as we've seen or known he can't just solo every single cosmic being at the same time like he does with the gauntlet!
If you referring to that possible future of him just soloing everybody. That stuff happened off screen and we don't really know how he did that for all we know he could have used some type of other weapon or something.
So I wouldn't necessarily call it bad writing. It's a lot of up to interpretation type moments though!
So no matter how you slice it. Himself with the gauntlet is still stronger! It's not really bad writing and he still has use for the gauntlet because it makes his job a lot easier!
