Similar to how ships do it on Guardians 1 and 2, but she can do it naturally. That, however, can't translate to actual movement, like combat. Because if she is actually traveling from one galaxy to the other, speed of light would still be TOO SLOW to do it in days. Space bending also makes sense with her powers coming from the Space Stone.
The only way to physically actually travel across space faster than light is actually to bend space, using something called a warp drive, which is a sort of engine that frees energy and controls gravity waves to bend space. If captain marvel can do this naturally then she could create black holes, access a higher four dimensional universe to travel across wormholes and control the very fabric of space around her. To do that physically isn’t plausible except if we use the hyperlight theory, which is somewhat how her powers work. Hyperlight is light that is strewn together with bent space, creating energy that is extremely powerful but also really stable, being attracted to dinámica reactions such as living beings, and overcharge them, giving them enhanced strength, resistance, speed, reflexes, agility and intelligence. If the discharge was too great it would also allow them to free this energy in destructive bursts. The problem is that it may grow unstable without some augmentations, so it may actually harm the body by creating these bursts. It’s just a theory though. Despite the fact that this is based on the MCU, and the goal was to acquire and utilize the Stones/Gems, I'm still upset that the MCU Thanos didn't have his cosmic powers from the comic books. Do you think the reason for this, is because it would have given him an unfair advantage?
Yeah I agree that the Russos' statements can be suspect but I think when they said this is the strongest Thor they meant mentally not physically or in terms of sheer power.
The speed section of this video didn't make any sense. How dumb is it to compare LIGHTNING to hand-to-hand combat? And where do you get all this ideas from that the characters can react and act in the speed of light? Do you have any idea how fast the speed of light is?
I feel the need to argue on the point regarding Hulk. Supposedly the Gauntlet tore him a new one because he was trying to undo Black Widow's death, which is beyond it due to its limitations in the MCU universe. As a result, it was directly fighting him.

As someone that's trained MMA, I really like the theory that Thanos isn't necessarily stronger than the Hulk, but instead is one of the only characters in the MCU that actually studied hand-to-hand combat rather than relying on superpowers. If you watch superhero movies as a boxer, everyone is noticeably terrible at punching, but it's never an issue due to their sheer strength. (Seriously, picture Superman in a boxing match minus his powers.) Thanos is fascinating because he has technique, and his fight with the Hulk shows that he's not just stronger, but a much more technical fighter than Thor.
What i love about Thanos vs Hulk is every blow and strike that Thanos lands on Hulk has purpose, he doesn't waste anything. Its a perfect takedown and shows that Thanos can actually fight.
@@wallywest4727 I know, right? I totally get that comic book fights aren't supposed to be realistic, but when you see tiny bits of realism, it really amplifies the stakes. Just comparing Thanos punching to Superman (DC, I know, shut up Internet) says so much about each respective character.

When you calculate Carol's speed you also have to consider momentum of moving through a vacuum. That's how our satellites can travel as fast as they do. Objects movi g through space gain more and more momentum as they travel multiplying the actual energy output used to thrust them forward potentially infinitely given nothing gets in the way. Honestly it's probably more impressive that she survives that trip.
@T P Nobody ever talks about blowing up a continent. sometimes they'll instead say: light up a city, light up new york, etc. They're referring to the energy required for that power grid. The energy of the gauntlet didn't blow the hulk up. It burned his arm similar to a severe electrical burn.
Right it feels like an absurd discussion to be having. Outside of Iron Man doing travel flight at Mach speeds sometimes and Carol being able to go super fast in the vacuum of space (also, we know there's warp gates throughout the galaxy. Earth even has one nearby so who's to say she never took any shortcuts?) no character has been shown to have combat speed greater than Quicksilver and even Quicksilver is super sonic *at best* I really don't understand where this speed debate comes from at all. Spider-Man clearly isn't like, speed blitzing anyone. He only appears on opposite sides of Thanos rapidly because of the portals. I thought that was obvious. And while I appreciate the number crunching the power scaling community has done for the most part, debating whether or not say, Captain America, can move FTL (even in terms of reaction time) makes me think they're collectively having a stroke.
Yeah I’m with y’all They’re definitely solid Mach range thanks to Tony’s weaker Suits, Hela reacting to Lightning and Thor’s pretty easily creating Mach cones
Great video! So Much to absorb. Most of the Avengers don’t need to dodge bullets. So they don’t. The speed of light in air is less than a vacuum but not by a huge amount (relatively).
Well to be fair, anyone would get their ass handed to them by a blood-lusted pissed off Wanda. Not sure how that's downplay. Like at all. Because Thanos doesn't have TK resistance. So it's really not fair to say ''Lol Thanos got his ass kicked by a girl''.
Oh, just one mistake: at the end of the video you said Thanos snap obliterated half sentient life. However, when Hulk snaps everyone back, the first evidence is the abundance of birds in the yard, implying the snap ceased half life as a whole (sentient humans and irrational animals).
btw, i belive that photons will always travel at light speed. but when going trough a material, it takes a longer path. E.G in the sun, the photons bounce and change directions due to how dense the sun is.
Thanos never fights the hulk fair. Thanos had the power stone when he fought hulk. That’s why hulks anger didn’t come into play . People forget that. On the asguardian ship, thanos has the power stone which makes him an unstoppable force . We never get a fair hulk vs thanos fight in the MCU
He wasn't meant to be stronger just smarter and a better fighter he has a base hulk strength maybe a half way pissed hulk strength. But he use his brain as well as his own power to break hulk down b4 he could get stronger but I feel you still did hulk dirty just not in that fight he lost clean should of gave him a rematch or could of join Thor. Cap and Tony in their fight
Gavin Jones , Ronan wasn’t using the stone at the time he got run over by a space ship, didn’t even give him a scratch, and then star lord shot him with the hadron gun or whatever it was called. A space ship crashing into ronan a kree, would have killed him if he didn’t posses the power stone. When he was shot with the Missile he may have had It activated , but he definitely didn’t when he was run over.
Man, I love that I caught it; I love even more that you said it. The Infinity Gauntlet can light up a continent, that's why you said it's a large island on a scale. I'm more then a satisfied subscriber. Thank you.
Spiderman’s “FTL” feats are done in Iron Spider Suit. Black Panther was confident that he would be able to take those shots. Cap got shot because he only tried to block instead of running away. Thanos’ dogs were just savagely attacking without plan. Wanda isn’t FTL yet. There is a difference between travel and combat speed. Carol’s beams can travel faster than her and Thanos blocked her beams. Characters considered FTL(combat): Worthy Captain America,Bleeding Edge Iron Man,Thor,Captain Marvel
Exactly. Its not that photons are being slowed down within a star, its that they have to travel, in essence, further due to constantly being redirected.

Despite the fact that this is based on the MCU, and the goal was to acquire and utilize the Stones/Gems, I'm still upset that the MCU Thanos didn't have his cosmic powers from the comic books. Do you think the reason for this, is because it would have given him an unfair advantage?
Yep, but the GA didn't get to see Thanos in ALL his glory. 😭😭😭
Most definitely. Also the stones are substitutes for his cosmic powers.
Yeah I agree that the Russos' statements can be suspect but I think when they said this is the strongest Thor they meant mentally not physically or in terms of sheer power.
Hmm he's depressed and wants payback, doesnt even want to hear Thanos' name. I wouldnt call someone like that mentally strong
Nate Ferland After he talks to his mom and obtains Mjölnir, he does seem at his most mentally powerful.
Totally suspect in relation to Fat Thor’s supposed strongest level. He wouldn’t be half of King Thor’s power
@@0TTERBRO Don't you think It's obvious am referring to 3rd act Thor not the one who appears early in the movie ?
@@quentondaniels8536 That's why I said mentally.
Mcu characters speed are confusing
Mark Strike It’s the inconsistency in all Superhero movies XD but it doesn’t matter I guess.
sometimes thor is massively faster than light, other times he's waaaaay slower than quicksilver, who is hypersonic
XxSlenderSpiderxX
Pretty sure Thor never came close to lightspeed.
Hiccup Haddock by the time I wrote that comment, I thought thor could react to the bifrost, but no, he can't
The speed section of this video didn't make any sense. How dumb is it to compare LIGHTNING to hand-to-hand combat? And where do you get all this ideas from that the characters can react and act in the speed of light? Do you have any idea how fast the speed of light is?
Powerful enough to tip the cosmic balance.
I feel the need to argue on the point regarding Hulk. Supposedly the Gauntlet tore him a new one because he was trying to undo Black Widow's death, which is beyond it due to its limitations in the MCU universe. As a result, it was directly fighting him.
I feel like Rogers got to slap him around for a bit because of his creative use of the shield with Mjolnir. Making openings from different angles.
You are finally doing the other marvel heroes
I hope these ones are planned :
Captain America
Vision
Loki
Bucky
The ones with interesting powers but not enough feats to determine how powerful they are
I can see Captain America and vision but not the other two their pretty pathetic in comparison
@@nihilist2434
Well excuse me
Both bucky and loki demolished cap in hand to hand combat
Cap without thor powers of course.
Thanos in the comics actually survived a black hole, his durability is amazing
That's the comics lol
You’re opinion is invalid to the question of how powerful thanos is in the MCU. And the answer is pretty weak
The discussion here is how powerful is *MCU* Thanos, your comment is irrelevant.
Thanos only good feat is probably defeating the avengers or wiping out 50% of the population of defeating hulk in mcu
He also killed all the celestials and literally one shot galactus taking his head off
“nOt As StRoNg As ThE cOmIcS.” Guys, that’s almost EVERYBODY in the MCU.
Thanos is a simp in the comics
Just a fun fact
Can we get a Scarlet Witch episode, please?

Meanwhile thanos screaming at the top of his lungs
I do love how the release date of the video is also the exact day, one year ago when marvels spider man was released.
Excellent, well done. Thanos is insanely powerful
Thanks for this video, I was really looking forward to it and it answered many questions I had
I think if the MCU had the original comic book stats of the characters people wouldnt be able to comprehend the power.
Man would be godlike
He also said he could re-create the universe, which I think is even more impressive than destroying a universe
He's fairly formidable but let's be real
Fierce diety mask link>Thanos
We will probably never know for sure if that's true.
Fierce Diety Mask, with Power stone socketed.
GG, get gUde?
what thanos because
mcu: has fake infinity stones
comic: the infinity stones dont have a limit
king thanos: finds the gauntlet useless and one shoots galactus no problem
"How powerful is MCU Scarlet Witch?" next please
She has very poor durability.
He was also able to almost stalemate the combined might of Thor 's strength ,Cap's strength and the worthiness enchantment on Mjolnir with just one arm.
He hold Caps arm not Mjolnir itself
Almost stalemate?
iron man was knocked by thanos.
Thor was knocked by thanos.
Captian shield broke and was injured.
Thanos was going to kill them if avengers reinforcement wouldn't come at time with iconic 'on your left' moment
Speeds are literally relative to whoever they’re fighting. Faster to faster individuals but slower to slower individuals
Armazing video bro, really nice and all about the speed scalling make so much sence now, they are not that fast in the MCU cuz the goal was make the stories grounded AF...whatever Thanos is the #1 for me
I have no clue what you were going on about during the speed part.
It's just reaction speed. Power scaling is usually about strength, speed and endurance. Add in intelligence if you want but we all know that Thanos is cursed by it like Tony.
Zotur exactly guy was on one. And @silenthero27 yes that’s what it should’ve been reaction speed.
This powerful in term of strength and stuff and still regard himself as just a nobody.
Turns out his best power is his humbleness.
The video we have all been waiting for!
I wish Thanos had some energy powers or have the armour give him some energy projection.
He has energy powers in the comics
@@georgevos4890 yeah I know, but he didn't have any in the MCU films, he was just a super strong purple guy. Strongest guy to be sure, but for someone who was hailed as the most powerful in the universe and who scared Ronin and Loki, I kinda expected more.

@@LAVATORR Superman knows martial arts in many versions. Not mma though. But he has practiced more than 5 along with kryptonian martial arts.

Black panther batman shang chi captain America are just a few of a bunch of skilled fighters you just don't realize it
How is fat Thor, the strongest version of Thor? 🤔
I was.thinking the same thing.
Russo’s were on crack when they said that.
thejazzmusician I guess Russos think a fat man with two hammers is stronger than a man in his prime with his strongest hammer only
Probably, because he was enotionally balanced. The talk with his mother probably helped him get through his break down.
Russo's made the claim but as I said, their statements are shaky at best.
Shes not moving that fast she is able to fold space using the space stones power
The movie version thanos is a sweetheart compared the comic book version!!!
I like how you took the time to calculate the values and make meaningful comparisons of those values.
To light up a continent doesn't mean blow it up. It's talking about the power required to generate the electricity needed.
@T P
Nobody ever talks about blowing up a continent. sometimes they'll instead say: light up a city, light up new york, etc. They're referring to the energy required for that power grid.
The energy of the gauntlet didn't blow the hulk up. It burned his arm similar to a severe electrical burn.
When Tony said "light up" im pretty sure he literally meant to illuminate the whole continent
whats this about the characters in the mcu being able to move faster than light?
Right it feels like an absurd discussion to be having. Outside of Iron Man doing travel flight at Mach speeds sometimes and Carol being able to go super fast in the vacuum of space (also, we know there's warp gates throughout the galaxy. Earth even has one nearby so who's to say she never took any shortcuts?) no character has been shown to have combat speed greater than Quicksilver and even Quicksilver is super sonic *at best*
I really don't understand where this speed debate comes from at all.
Yeah I’m with y’all
They’re definitely solid Mach range thanks to Tony’s weaker Suits, Hela reacting to Lightning and Thor’s pretty easily creating Mach cones
You should do how powerful is the ancient one
Great video! So
Much to absorb. Most of the Avengers don’t need to dodge bullets. So they don’t. The speed of light in air is less than a vacuum but not by a huge amount (relatively).
I gotta take my hat off to you for all the research you've done. Thanks!
Thanos is the most powerful being in the universe

Well to be fair, anyone would get their ass handed to them by a blood-lusted pissed off Wanda. Not sure how that's downplay. Like at all. Because Thanos doesn't have TK resistance. So it's really not fair to say ''Lol Thanos got his ass kicked by a girl''.
Can you guys do an updated MCU Avengers vs DCEU Justice League video after endgame
Wouldn’t matter the result wouldn’t change
Javon it would only be fair if you equalise speed.
Maybe captain Marvel and scarlett witch would help but they most likely gets speedblitzed

John Smith Justice League is too fast and powerful for the Avengers to handle. Even all of them at the same time can’t win

Thousands of times the speed of light is nonsensical. "C" is the speed of causality itself.
He didn't use the stone the stone was not glowing at that time . This been explain many times
They absolutely neutered hulk in the mcu
Halo I think more so pressure points
make a video ranking all of the mcu characters with power scaling and the exact numbers (not a tier list). that would be soooo good
Man, I love that I caught it; I love even more that you said it. The Infinity Gauntlet can light up a continent, that's why you said it's a large island on a scale. I'm more then a satisfied subscriber. Thank you.
I'm further in the video. Great minds think alike.
Characters considered FTL(combat):
Worthy Captain America,Bleeding Edge Iron Man,Thor,Captain Marvel
none of them are FTL. only one who might be is quicksilver and he's dead, maybe thanos with the stones.

There is no character in the MCU who is lightspeed outside of limited travel speed. Lmao.
Light up a continent isn't the same as blowing it up,no sir.

The clear best stone is the time stone because you can bargain with dormammu
Photons always move at the speed of light, even if they bump into stuff.
Exactly. Its not that photons are being slowed down within a star, its that they have to travel, in essence, further due to constantly being redirected.

You're interpretation of "light up" is incorrect. He was referring to powering an electrical grid on a continental (presumably North America) scale. Imagine if he's said "Light up a large city". He's not talking about blowing anything up.
He was high balling to give the max power out put
@@mroverdose14 That's not "high balling". It's intentionally misinterpreting the criteria with which he's basing his analysis.
Linsel Greene Tony was referring to how using the stones could be devastating, so it would make sense that he’s talking about blowing up a continent. Tony would probably just say ‘power a continent’ instead of ‘lighting up a continent’ anyway
"Because Science" seems to use the annual power consumption of North America for the calculation, I think it make sense for them to use that figure.
