They left the lumber racks, but no lumber. There were a lot of specialty shelving units in this building and some of the others that we disassembled and salvaged the wood, so the racks came in handy. We purchased this property at the end of 2020 so that all of our equipment could be under a roof, and to help free up some of the space at the main shop. It does leave a lot of room for growth/expansion, and in the meantime provides lots of storage.
Thank you! We have a few spots in our area that have low clearance heights like this, so usually once a year or so we're towing one with a ripped out roof.
Unfortunately this happens every day. It's really sad that these drivers can't look ahead & are too busy following the GPS voice by itself! I'm in Buffalo and there's several bridges that experience the dreaded low bridge sardine can opening experience! 🤦🏻♂️😂👌🏻👍🏻🦺⚠️🚧 ✊🏻🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸✊🏻
I’m thinking if that driver could have grabbed another gear he might have made it through! Without the top on a box van it makes the chassis very flexible the sides a top rails are a crucial part of the strength of the trailer! Thought I’d share that I was a trailer mechanic for 14 years! And the trailer was needing brakes too! Good job on the recovery! Catch you next time stay safe WG!
Yes, I was concerned whether it was going to hold together or not, but it did. When the parts that keep the strength of the trailer are gone, it's time to improvise with what you have to make it stronger. The camera was out of battery while we chained up underneath, but we bored holes in the floor near the tandem assembly with a hole saw, and then chained to the dolly legs. Essentially continually creating a series of triangular shapes with straps and chains to create the strength that was lost.
@@WilcoxGarageRecoveryone good thing it was empty made the job much easier! The 65 fits well in the annex I was given the tour of it by Tad. That place is definitely handy to have!
I am a retired truck driver from Wisconsin .so many of our drivers this happened to in Illinois. I often wonder why at least why they don’t weld an arch of steel eye beams 100-200- feet whatever distance away from the bridge and that way a stupid driver would hit the I-beams, and yes, damage his truck but not risk damaging the bridge which is a lot worse and more expensive. This driver had to be daydreaming ,asleep or’on his phone # 12”was painted in big numbers on the bridge if he was paying attention he would’ve seen it.
1:16 That driver sitting there on the curb tells the whole story!😂😂 I don't understand how these guys can drive these huge trucks and not pay attention to things like a low bridge thats always clearly marked as such! Too busy listening to the GPS voice telling them exactly what, where & when to do it! I see this all the time! 🤦🏻♂️ Job security for you guys!✅👍🏻👌🏻😂🚧⚠️🦺🚚⛓️ ✊🏻🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸✊🏻
That Truck and Trailer was hauling AZZWHOLE speed down the road and slammed into that bridge at lightning speed and Totaled the Truck and Trailer You say to yourself Why did this happen any smart person knows the answer to that question .. Great recovery and great video your Towing company is Super Professional well trained and knows what to do .. Take care and enjoy your Sunday 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍from the Ocean State
Pretty hard to miss that 12' Highlighted on the bridge like that. IF he did see that, he probably shit all over himself, because he sure didn't hit the brakes. The driver had to be going pretty fast to squeeze himself under there like that. Sence He couldn't figure out what that big ole 12' meant on the bridge, I just kind of figure He should of just grabbed another gear & pulled her on through there, & then try & sneak it back to a drop yard. Think anyone would have noticed?
We use the ladder sparingly, and it is more compact for the toolbox than the folding ladder would be. I would agree the folding ladder would be more sturdy though.
"If it don't look right, run at night" - good life lessons learned here. I like that, I'm gonna file that one away for later.
Glad our videos are educational on more than one level 😂
Very cool to see you pull the trailer out with the truck, instead of the rear. 👍👍
The big tow pin on the front of the rotator comes in very handy sometimes!
FANTASTIC job well done heroes
Nice that it came back out fairly easy , you spent more time rigging to drag it home . Got to love those cordless Milwaukee tools. Thanks for sharing
Correct, it was a lot of rigging to keep the trailer held together! And yes, the Milwaukee tools are a huge lifesaver when it comes to jobs like this.
I appreciate your expertise. It's always a pleasure to watch the team work.
What a mess, nice job as always, true professionals!👊
Thanks Sean! I hope you were referring to us as the "professionals", and not the truck drivers 😂
@@WilcoxGarageRecovery definitely you guys!👍
I often wondered what the old carter lumber was being used for. even left ya some lumber. some nice shop area and office space for you to grow

Sure dont miss getting up at 2 am work all nite and start the day at 6am. Sure is fun to watch😂
Me neither. I’m happily retired from that work. Just enjoy the videos
In a case like this:
Step 1: Suspension down, most air out of the tyres, disconnect the roof spoilers.
Thanks for sharing
We get way too many of these incidents
Drivers not aware of overpass or how high thier trailer is
Correct, and too many GPS followers
Another great recovery by the Wilcox crew 😊
Great job getting that out.
Thank you!
I watch another channel that shows the bridge eating trucks, this 1st recovery I've seen, nice job

the pros at work once again do a great job
Thank you!
OUCH! Great job guys. 👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪🫡
Welcome to the Stevie Wonder school of sign reading.

Nice job guys
Thank you!
Great recovery 👍 👏
You need to be on radio... thanks.
13'6" on a 12' underpass, someone wasn't paying attention.

Thank you! It certainly seems it would have been going faster than the speed limit to make it through that far.
I know the reason why, they are wearing their stupid sandals in the thumbnail.
I'm guessing Townsend st bridge in greenwich
You would be correct
@WilcoxGarageRecovery know that area very well and have had couple close calls towing with that bridge
What was the driver thinking? Kinda feel for him 😕

U need need to a Franklin folding ladder from harbor freight the one you is a death trap

THat was just a though
Is it possible to let some air out of tires. What a blooming mess!!!!
We cranked the dolly legs up and that was enough to clear without letting air out.
