I've been trying to get my New Nintendo 3DS to work with Xfinity, but the router is set at a frequency the 3DS doesn't understand and, thus, won't connect to it. The access type keeps saying no internet access. Also wanted say that Im using Pdanet+ as internet connection to my pc, idk if that has anything to do with it. And whenever someones phone tries to connect to it, it cant obtain IP address.

Go to device manager once there click view and show hidden devices, after that navigate to network adapters and look for the virtual hosted network you just created and right click on it to enable it should work after that.
after installing win 10 connectify started messing up with my network setting and I was unable to use any hotspot. Your method works better than connectify. THANKS A LOT MAN!!
For people who doesnt have internet after making the hotspot go to "Change adapter options" > Right Click Ethernet > Properties > Sharing > Tick Allow other networks and change Home networking connection to "Local Area Connection* # (the hotspot you made)

Hello, you most likely don't have the required hardware for creating a hotspot. But just to be sure you may type: "netsh wlan show hostednetwork" and check "Hosted network status" if it says "Not available" it means your machine doesn’t have hotspot creation capabilities as the hardware required isn’t present.

enable virtual driver under network devices in Settings>Device manager. This should solve problem.
This tutorial is great. I have run a 20 meter usb cable to where there is public wifi available. I am using my phone to USB tether the internet to my PC and then streaming the internet out of the PC to the rest of the devices in my house.

This happen after you disable via Control Panel -> network adapters -> right click button on the virtual connection -> disable
To fix that go to Device Manager, then open the network adapters tree , right click button on Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter and click on enable. After that,try with the command netsh wlan start hostednetwork with admin privileges. It should work.

thats what I;m doing , but its too annoying, it only turns on if there is an internet connection on the network, and also turns off if no device is connected to it. I want it to always turn on and even without network connection for LAN purposes. But the windows 10 hotspot doesnt allow me to do that. Now the CMD command doesnt work in 10. I wonder why, :/
That doesn't really work most of the time. Best to do with the CMD

+Uchiha nisi I found a solution, not sure if you have. You have to open your "device manager" (right click windows home button and view options). Once there, click on "network adapters" then click "view" from the list at the top, then click "show hidden folders"... Go back to network adapters, you should see the "hosted network adapter" with a down arrow on the icon. Right click that and a list should pop up. Click "enable" or "enable device" and you hosted network should work again.

It connected and worked as my previous comment says. But when I stepped away from the computer and came back to it I couldn't connect and if I follow your steps again to connect to the desktop I get this error msg on the CMD. Please suggest a work around.
