Fruits and vegetables are among the healthiest foods on the planet. Although, unfortunately, in the modern day, they too have a downside. The pesticides. The residual amount of these chemicals are present on them when you buy them in the grocery store. The sad and shocking part is that even after washing these fruits and vegetables for continuously 15 seconds in running tap water does not remove this chemical residue. Eating fruits and vegetables without properly removing the pesticide residue may lead to food poisoning, diarrhoea, hormonal issues, skin and hair problems and even long term deadly diseases of brain, kidney lung and cancer. This is a serious problem of the day and in this video I will share with you the best and the most practical way to resolve this issue.
0:09 - To bring the most authentic information to you, I went to different vegetable and fruit markets. Discussed this problem with the real people, the vendors there. Even visited a nearby field, met a few farmers so that we know what really is going on at the grass root level.

Your advice on cooking veggies with lid open is great. Here in Canada, vegetables are so expensive , and we most often buy frozen mix veggies. We never know where the vegetables are coming from , as it could be vegetables grown in a country where they use pesticides. It is harder to wash the frozen veggies as they are precut and go very mush in water. Best is to cook with lid open to reduce some amount of bad toxins. We also put tumeric in our food. Because at the end of the day, we can't get rid of toxins, but may be we can make our bodies strong enough to fight through the toxins. Great tip on baking soda as well. I am going to buy some and use that for washing my veggies and fruits.

In a basin of water (half full), you can add a table spoon of salt and 1/3 to 1/2 of a cup of plain vinegar (stir to dissolve salt) to soak vegetables for at least 15 minutes. You will see dirt/ impurities settle to the bottom. Believe Sodium Bicarbonate is more powerful by observing more dirt settle to the bottom of the basin (I tried both methods). Your explaination of various steps to clean vegetables and fruit is very good. Thanks for your video.

Here in Thailand we use potassium permanganate, it a purple crystal like powder that works amazingly well. Only a very tiny pinch is needed to mix with enough water to submerge the fruit/veg.

To correct you, in red grapes and some other berries, they have a thin layer of white dust on them which is indeed harmless, is called the "bloom" of the grape or sometime the "blush". The grape plant produces it to protect the berries from moisture loss. In any case, that white stuff isn’t pesticide residue.
Although i agree and not to say that there isn’t pesticide residue on the grape, so wash it anyway before you pop it into your mouth.

When you grow your own grapes, you consume them directly. The commercial fruits on the other hand go through some cleaning and washing processes before harvest or while packaging making them lose their coat.
In 100s of instances in India (his target audience) food analysts have found artificial wax coating on apples and grapes which is done by the cultivators to revive the wax coat on the outside so they don't lose shine or to avoid moisture from entering in which is lost during the aforementioned cleaning process. You might be right since you're a grower yourself but that doesn't make him wrong as his words are based on evidence (multiple of them). Artifical coating is bad for the health. That's the reason why the number of diseases even the healthiest individuals in India has started to increase

Bhogar Sishyan I was just going to post this. I have grown grapes with no fertilizer or pesticides. The dust is a natural element, but, I still agree with most of this video.

@@santoshshah528 You can also hire a small plot, got my own veggies, near my house are fruit trees and bushes with small fruit, herbs and a few chicken for eggs. And meat and milk from local farms nearby. I know where my food comes from. Most people don't know what they are missing. I only work one day once a week on my vegetable garden. It might be a bit work in the beginning to get it up and running but after that one day in a week to keep it clean. So if people say they don't have time I don't believe it.

Thank you so much for this video!! It’s unfortunate that the organic version of fruits and vegetables are so much more expensive and less accessible. I’ve sorta been forced to eat non-organic for financial reasons so this was so helpful :)

My Life's Meditation. Very true! If you can grow something in pots or bins, it is still something you won't have to buy. Maybe you can find people like yourself and come up with a joint effort to grow something? Many cities have communal gardens on unused empty city lots or roofs.
Nothing will change unless people band together. :-)

maybe its also because he discredits books and talks to rural farmers instead. He never mentions that organic sprays are much less toxic. So I think a few farmers may not have all the answers especially if all the books (he has read) don't have a single answer on the whole pesticide issue we all face every day. But this has gotten me to look into baking soda treatment of pesticides to neutralize 98% which sounds like a farmer's tall tale but may have some truth underneath that
