Lol You gotta do multiple takes when doing voice over work. When you're editing fast you skip around, hear the first part of the sentence you need, skip ahead, hear the las part of the sentence and slap it in. Not realizing that you just heard both takes.
The picture at 0:43 is a great one, it basically depicts Chiss all looking forward, at their leader, all but Thrawn, for he looks outward, toward the actual threat. (it is detailed in the book trilogy how the Chiss is sort of.. become blind to outwards facing threats) Also, (spoiler), based upon the events in "Rebels" tv series along with the Thrawn Trilogy; It is evident that the Grysk is the new great threat in Star Wars, and replace the old no longer Canon "Yuuzhan Vong" species, the Thrawn Trilogy being the one that details how he became an officer in the Imperial Navy and later a Grand Admiral, this trilogy is a prequal.
I think there's a reference to a time when there was only a single ruling family at the beginning of the Ascendancy, before they gave up their power and might have even become a Lesser Family.
I’d love to see a story where a bunch of old Chiss are playing zig zig in the basement of an old Chiss school, and treat it like any story involving old ladies playing bingo
@@masterofthechimichangas1306 No that wasn’t thrawn at all. Those random bursts of anger make no sense because thrawn is all about self control in canon books and legends. Not only that, thrawn values life more than anything. He would NEVER bombard innocents, EVER. That was way out of character. He is flatly told that the Stybla were the only ruling power and chose to split their power to the ascendancy. They became the lesser of the 9 to this day but have become the defacto espoionage/ galactic explorers.
The jedi could have used a force bunble to save them both? If Bane can do it as a dark side user then a jedi should as a light side user even easier as its to help preserve life
@@-KreedM- You're 100% correct. I phrased it stupidly, but i was thinking of post-Rebels. Thrawn Treason is a fun listen, though. The 4 on 1 (at first, anyway) star destroyer battle where Thrawn sneaked onto Savit's bridge for a better view is one of my favorite parts from all the novels.
@@-KreedM- Too right on that. Huge bummer for us Thrawn fans. They did release that final season of Clone Wars, though. So, ya never know. Zahn apparently has plenty of stories left.
Now that I finally finished, catching up on your coverage of the book. I’m also intrigued by the people who want to “join the Beyond” aka The Force. Hadn’t thought about them being able to go “Force ghost” bc I sort of see them as *more* Dark Side than Light. (Not that I have any real idea on “how the Force works” or anything.) But I thought that because of their absence of HOPE which seems to be a central feature of the more Light Side. (I say “more” cuz I view the Force as a spectrum, not a binary. Just wanna clarify cuz I don’t think the people in this book are “evil” like the Sith or anything.) Q: Do you think there’s a connection to the Acolytes of the Beyond who look to the Unknown Regions as some sort of holy place...assuming Exegol. Maybe the people in the book aren’t necessarily Sith related, but is The Beyond just something that a huge chunk of Force adherents in the UR call the energy field that binds us all?
Just finished it. There is a lot going on, sometimes maybe too many plot threads, but they are largely self contained to the thrawniverse so there are not that many opportunities to connect to the rest of Star Wars.

All these official nods to SWTOR . . . that does indeed put a smile on my face, especially since the old republic era was my favorite era.
Same its so cool Zahn remembers about it.
