"The opening words of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, drafted in 1948, are “All human beings are are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” These inspiring words are a guiding principle for the whole declaration but, looking around at the world we have made in the decades since they were written, it is clear that we have forgotten them. The recent brutal events in the US, leading to the tragic deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, as well as countless other abuses around the world, are proof of that. At such times it is easy to feel hopeless but, just as the problems of our world are of our own making, so the solutions can be. While the past is fixed, the future is yet unwritten, and the declaration sets out an uplifting vision of a better and fairer world that is within our reach if we choose it. VOICES is a musical space to reconnect with these inspiring principles and Yulia’s striking film depicts this inspiration in a beautiful way, while offering a glimpse into her full length film of our project to come”

I am sure Max Richter didn't compose this with the goal of making a 52-year-old father of three adult children stop everything he was doing to watch this, and weep - to get lost in the heavenly music while finding the souls within each set of eyes in this video - and baring my soul in return. And yet he did. And if he can do that to one man...and I can share that with one person...and he/she can share that with another...how much more beautiful could this world become.

I understand what you mean, but maybe the the non-haters are a (far too silent) majority?
I trully (need to) believe that the "endless rage and hate..." across our societies are not endless, neither make the most part of our "ocean"... Maybe we just all need to start shifting where we put our focus on (and off). Max Ritcher is doing just that and allowing us to better achieve that change of focus too, even if in our own individual and specific ways and paces 🌞🙏
i find my mind drifting away to a world that doesn't exist... one without hate, without prejudice, where love truly wins and doesn't fear.... this music carries me there, floating and transcending... the music ends and I am hastily carried back. Saddened and waiting to return.

This made me cry, I hope some day we can put aside differences and realize that we are in this together. Be tolerant of everyone, as one day they may not be tolerant of you. Just have decency and treat everyone with more compassion and understanding.

Humanity’s violence against humanity is one of the greatest mysteries of our world.
A travesty of inestimable sorrow. But not a mystery.
Probably the humanity is that, is violence, ugliness, beauty, art, wars, destruction, build, science, ignirance, knowledge.....the greatness and the worst part.
Our minds are nosey and confused. We need to be careful what we feed our minds.
Hopefully, one day, race will be a thing of the past. A word describing ancient insecurities, and borders placed by fear of death, and the unknown. One day we will be wiser. And one day we will finally become one.
Mystery? More like the most shameful and misfortunate thing ever present.
The world right now wants to have something to hold on, and that is the music... such a powerful and beautiful way to spreads hope though this so glad to hear this love it!

Music can touch the whole being of who we are and what we know from the experiences of all of our lifes. With this piece Max hits deep because it opens our reception by listening to intense harmonies while the truths being spoken swell into our minds with power. We need more of this and less of what is going on in the world right now.
