How the hell hasn't this kid hit the big time yet???
Because people won't pay to just hear the Bass guitar. Stanley Jordan in the 80's was the last one, and he was relatively short-lived. Of course, this guy's great, but he would have to fit into a jazz band, with songs written around his Bass guitar talents. Difficult to do. He would not fit into a rock n roll band, in that he wants to feature himself, and not the band. While he is great, not sure about his future marketability to the Top 40 market.

Stanley Jordan, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Bootsy Collins, Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, John Entwistle, Larry Graham, Rocco Prestia, Flea, Les Claypool, Aston Barrett....the list and genre is unmistakably the best then as it is now. These bassists all did very well for themselves, whether solo acts or with a band. It's time the music industry expands their minds to artist's abilities and stop trying to line their pockets!
