Thanks! It's actually not quite finished. Needs a description. Was waiting for Hans to come up with a name for the railway. I suggested "The Eclectic Central". Something of an oxymoron - nothing personal. ;-)
This was pretty cool to watch! Is it normal that G-scale is less detailed and has worse sound than what you get in H0 scale or can you get very detailed and great sounding models in G-scale as well?
I'm not into G-Scale myself so don't have first hand experience. Since HO is the most popular it would make sense that most of the development takes place in that scale. That shouldn't make any difference for sound equipment. One size fits all. Realistically, the large scale "should" have better sound. As far as detail goes, how deep are your pockets? Remember those magnificent old brass steam engines from years ago? Plastic technologies, like used in HO, could produce phenomenally detailed engines and rolling stock in G but the tooling costs would be equally phenomenal - made worse by the proliferation of prototypes. G-scalers are lucky to get a few basic examples, painted to look vaguely like the real thing. Another thought, G stands for Garden. Think about it... Who cares what something looks or sounds like when it's rolling through the roses? Artists can explain about viewing distance. Ever look at a Monet? Pointillism up close is crap. From a distance? Incredible!
This is very calming, I feel like I'm heading into Mr. Rogers Neighbourhood
Partially due to the Fats Waller cover no doubt but I get the Mr. Rogers reference. There is something fascinating about things in motion.
WOW....riding the rails actually gave me shivers. Enjoyed this video & I'm not even close to being a train aficionado.
The funny thing is how it was unplanned. We just showed up with a camera and cell phone and freelanced it. At this moment Hans hasn't even seen it.
Won't be any kids moving back home into the basement apartment, huh? Love it.
Plenty of room under the layout... ;-) Shame about the racket above.
Very nice! Love the jazz piano music as well.
Thanks Chris. That's Peter Brown playing. He's a friend and professional musician down by Ottawa. I'll include a credit in the description shortly.

@@markofthenorth8918 Thanks Mark - somewhere in the palm I gather. ;-)
