for getting the hot air out of the toolbox , maibe put a small actuator / linear servo under the lid so it lifts open the lid about an inch or so should make it flow a LOT more air and when parked with the lid down it still be invissable gunny thing that years ago i did some benchracing on the turbo forum and suggested just about the exact thing youre building , planned to reverse mount the intake and have the exhaust go out the tank fill flap though probably would do a water to air intercooler not a lot of airflow needed
if you mark your cutout then use a hole saw in the corners before you cut the rest out you get much better looking results instead of sharp corners it looks intentional and only takes a couple min to do

I love these kinds of builds from you. Seems like there was a lot of effort to hide the turbo but I feel like that exhaust under the truck attracts enough attention on its own.
to add extra cooling/air flow into the tool box to help with turbo heat you could put some small fans in some of the cut outs you made or do something sim to what you did for the intercooler
After watching you for better than 5 years now I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to see the Jeep run just sleep for idea is awesome man I'm loving it

Hopefully they crossed it first and didn't get into another tool box before hand otherwise "fuking score!" And they unbolt all that sht and still take your sht!
I been debating doing a rear/remote mount in the bed of my ranger.. How well does the oil system work? Any issues with the oil too-from turbo ? like ie: daily driving?.. what pump would you recommend for a scavenge/return pump? and did you need too restrict the oil psi TOO the turbo in-feed?
I just wonder if Preston has ever thought of or tried using gutter downspouts for piping. Either intake or exhaust. Has anyone done this. There’s got to be.
I love my 2005 GMC Canyon (similar), got it for $4k cash at start of pandemic. It had 138K miles, runs great. The odometer is now up to 150K, still running strong. My first pickup truck, hoping there will be a conversion kit or replacement engine for it, when that time comes.
Another perfect video, congrats on 100k. Extensive, independent, and very technical exhaust system testing🗣. Not what I came here for, but I'm here for it. And 2👍👍for the use of cutouts. You possibly introduced many to the existence of them. Although you use yours for camouflage, they have a great use in the hobby. ---Following is a P.S.A.--- for those who need to hear it. They will complain, laws will be added, etc... save the hobby, don't just cut off your exhaust system, buy and install cutouts. Save the hobby. PS. The same goes for rolling coal. Although it can be funny, that guy in the Prius is probably on the city or county council. He loves the EPA. I will step off my soap box📣 now and see myself🚪 out 😂.

Use Harbor freight tool boxes, I'm thinking they're lighter than most 😂 And you'd benefit from an oscillating cutter for the tight corners ( carbide cutters are well worth the extra cost)
Fuggin heel, that abrasives combination package is elite 👀💪🏽 and just when you start to think there is too much fuckery going on,Tig comes to the rescue and restores the goods.

the top of the turbobox has that descending lip, could raise it up so it's not visible unless purposely looking from below but has a decent gap between it and the walls. sound may be a problem with this idea though also the "accidental holes" definitely arent accidental, they're just a way to save weight
20 years ago I hid a 10 pound nitrous bottle in a picnic basket in the back of my mint 1967 Chevy Impala station wagon, I rebuilt the original 300 h.p. original 327 engine, added a mild cam and headers, and a 700r4 tranny. The big whale would haul ass, it surprised and amazed quite a few unsuspecting cars.
They anodize aluminum for the same reason you paint or powder coat steel....... They also do it to seal the inferior quality of material used to cast! That specific product is not intended to be fabricated any further, it has a bolt on flange and threads for a fitting. If you needed a stand pipe you could just thread in a pipe with the proper threads, you could also weld the fitting to the pipe and thread the pipe and not have to prep (rid the coating/anodizing) but it doesn't really matter it's anodized because either way you want to prep and clean all material before welding! Anyway, still a sick build!

Aluminum is anodized to prevent corrosion.
At my company, we anodized aluminum parts as they move inside cylinders, this prevents premature wear also.
Can you anodize a cat? A chicken? Perhaps a kangaroo? Blue would be cool 🤔
