When stored properly Corned Beef is one of the canned goods that last the longest. And most of it is being produced in the same few factories in Brazil, and just labeled and priced differently. Look at the inspection stamp on various brands CB and you can see it's the exact same product, so just get the least expensive can.

I have boxes of Norwegian military food, "RSP", they are from 1973. I still have around 40 hermetic cans of food left in the boxes. I eat them from time to time. Bought them last year and I have eaten around 40 so far. It was 80 in total. Nothing wrong about them at all, they are actually delicious. I ate one for Christmas lunch. "RSP" is meat, potatoes and vegetables in a hermetic can. Everything is mashed into a "pudding", it looks like meat loaf. I bought them in a military surplus store in Norway.
Edit: "RSP" means "Reservestridsproviant", translated to English, "Reserve combat provisions". There is a slang for "RSP" in Norway, we call it "Rester av Sprengt Personell", translated to English that would be "Remains of blown up personnell".

How about a tin of Mock Turtle soup,a tin of Coleman's English mustard, some pemmican or a 10 pound block of Cadburys chocolate? All refrigerated for the last 110 years or so.

I know it's been 9 months since posted so someone probably told you about the key but I 'm not going to read all the comments to find out. The key is placed that way for convenient storage. When ready to open you remove the key, flip it over so the loop hangs below the can and then reattach it. That way it makes full turns without interference with the, side of the can. Many cans used to use these keys. Most canned meats, coffee cans. Oatmeal and many others.

Nice work! I was made in the 1970s too - lol. Seriously though, it’s interesting that Brazil is still a major producer of canned beef as its armies of cows eat through deforested Amazon. Also, so called “Corned Beef” in cans such as this is actually mostly cow hearts and other bits.
Actual corned beef is made with a whole marinated cut of beef that you boil up and serve hot or cold.

Our corned beef tins in UK are still made exactly like this, if you put the key closer to the tip of the tab then get a wind around before starting to open it's better leverage and opens easier. If that doesn't work use the can opener on the bottom as it's wider, then a small hole at the top to release pressure so it slides out

You've got a better chance of tipping out the product if you open the wider end of tapered cans. And if you're intending on keeping the cans, if they have keys like this one does, using the key will tear the paper up. You could carefully remove the paper before using the key to keep it in better condition. Also some of the more modern can openers will make a cleaner cut.
It's always interesting to see what's inside old cans and how well it was preserved and how much it changed over the years. Good stuff (the video not the content of the can) 👍

I like that you have a potted Christmas tree. You can plant them outside when they get too big for the house, and start over.

Corn beef hash, 'pan hagglety' or 'pan haggerty' is made with corned beef, sliced potato, onion, salt, pepper, and a little gravy powder. Boil until everything is soft and edible. It'll fill empty stomachs. Modern-day haggerty is made in a microwave in twenty minutes.
Corned beef was also known as 'typhoid slice' after a 1964 scare when people caught typhoid from Argentinian corned beef. It's also an economical lunch sandwich with beetroot, pickles, chutney or ketchup.
WW1 was fought and won on corned 'dog' as many soldiers called it. When allied troops retreated from Gallipoli, their was enough corned beef left behind to feed the Turkish troops for the next few years.

Post, I have been waiting for a new food video and you didn't disappoint! You even got food from the decade I was born I thought you were going to get a table knife, but no it is a Crocodile Dundee knife. :-) I lost it when you said you were going to feed it to the toilet. Too funny to me! Can't wait until the next one! No making corned beef hash out of that stuff.

Once it is bottled, whisky does not get better with age. A 50 year old bottle of 10 year old whisky is still a 10 year old whisky.

LOL! That's me. Love using corned beef to make various dishes. It's yummy but it DOES look nasty. This video shows that it doesn't change much appearance wise over time which is kinda scary.
