This is my Zero Wing metal medley covering three themes from the game, that I could play on Sega Genesis, namely the introduction, level 2 and credits themes. These were originally composed by Tatsuya Uemura for Toaplan.

Ooh, this is really good stuff! Zero Wing was one of my childhood games, and while the intro is definitely iconic and hilarious, I feel like it's a shame that its infamy has kind of eclipsed a lot of what the game does right. It's a very solid shmup with some great visual design and an all time great Mega Drive soundtrack that massively improves on and brings the best out of the already great arcade compositions. Always happy to see it getting some love as more than a meme.
Thanks! I totally agree with you, the game itself is an underrated gem, and like you said, while a lot of people are familiar with the intro music because of the memes and yet the soundtrack as a whole is a masterpiece of FM synthesis metal!

This is badass dude! Just amazing! I was playing Robeats on Roblox and it was on my daily mission to play this song and when I heard it I was like "Hold up- Wait a mintue!- This should be illegal for a song to be this good!-". Just to let you know that I was never a fan of metal music but listening to this had changed my mind. Robeats is a MMO Rhythm game on Roblox and they had added your song to it.
Thank you man, I'm usually not aware of where my songs get included, and I'm not credited all the time either so it makes it hard for people to track down the downloadable track or my channel - but I'm glad that you did and it also made you appreciate the genre a bit more!

@@CarboHydroMusic Indeed. TH-cam recommended a piano version of the intro theme and I took to looking for a guitar version. I really appreciate medley's because I get to enjoy more of the songs in the game. I never actually got very far in Zero Wing when I played it ages ago... :) I don't think I even took the time to appreciate the intro music back then.

@@Fulano5321 Ah yes, same for me. Back when I played the game it's was when I could visit a friend who owned it, and I used to make it to stage 2 before we changed games. That's the 2nd theme covered in the medley incidentally, but I knew the whole soundtrack thanks to the sound test in the options menu, and I had also fallen in love with that ending theme featured in 3rd in the medley. Feel free to look around my channel, not that I upload stuff very often to be fair - this one is from 10 years back, but I try to upload a few new songs at least each year.

Thanks ! :) I designed the arrangement to emulate the feel of the original as much as possible, especially during the intro, that I've always had a weak spot for ! Glad to see that you enjoyed it, ZW being one of your most beloved games. I hope you'll like the rest of my songs too as much !

It's pretty good but I like your sound better. Even though your style is metal your guitars have that classic tone to them and your drums sound very punk rock I wish I could get my drums like that.
ProjectGenesisMusic If the info can help, on this song I used a combination of Drumkit From Hell 2 (kick/snare/toms) and NSKit7 (the rest). I like to get my snare punchy but still pretty dry, so I add body to it in the lower frequencies and compress it at a low threshold. The kick on the other hand, has to be weakened a bit for fast paced stuff like this, otherwise it's like a bison charge.

Samwyze Just had a quick listen to it and yeah there is the same pattern in the melody than in the credits song from Zero Wing here. The chord progression (harmony) is different though. Either way that was interesting :)

Can you please try to remake some of the older Need for Speed soundtracks? Any will do because I'm sure you can make them sound awesome.
Thanks ! If I'm not mistaken, NFS usually has real band music for soundtrack ? It would be hard to top that in quality, but it's mostly because it's already real band music that I may not do it :) I'd rather adapt songs from games with sound limitations (retro platforms) or different styles (orchestral modern game music for example).

Diapolo10 Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, that was one of my favorite games growing up! It had an awesome soundtrack. Rush, Hot Action Cop, Bush, ect.
When recording this, was it so loud that a neighbor came in and said "You seem busy, gentlemen!"

I'm curious, did you ever play a game called Golden Sun? It was on the GBA, and had some amazing music, even if the game isn't your thing.
I recommend Saturos Battle Theme, Janna Battle Theme, The First Book, and Colosso Begins. You should check'em out :D

Tu permettrais que j'utilise tout ou partie de ce cover, afin de compléter une intro et outro sur un 1-sissy? Il s'agirait soit de Hellfire soit Zero Wing, justement, voir un peu sur l'un un peu sur l'autre, quoi, en tant que musique de fond pendant les commentaires, voir pour mettre en avant certains "trivia", du coup en solo plein volume...?
Tu connais la musique, si t'es pas chaud c'pas grave bien sur.
C'est simplement que j'ai eu une mini-illumination en ré-écoutant ton medley, décidement excellent, et comme je prépare ces sissy là en ce moment bah l'occasion ferait le larron.

I use mostly Cubase. Both for programming/sequencing and recording/mixing.

Orn Empire Hey, in this one song I used Drumkit From Hell 2 with lots of post processing. Nowadays I use Superior 2.0.
Thanks for letting me know! I use Addictive Drums for all my recordings and just wondered how you got yours to sound as good as they do in this recording. Very impressed :)
Orn Empire Anytime ! The sample quality or processing techniques is not what matters most. Above all, you need to adjust the emphasis of each drum hit to match how a real drummer would play as much as possible. Even the worst samples will totally be brought alive then. It's long and tedious, but the result is worth it.
