Using Raptor Liner for the first time (purchased the 8 liter kit off of Ebay for $400, went with what they call "Reflex blue" for the color), prepped and painted the Eddie Bauer. Kit came supplied with the cheaper style spray needed for application.
This was shot over the course of three weeks, about 25 hours total.
-18 hours of sanding with the harbor freight Bauer brand orbital sander and used 220 grit sandpaper. -took about three hours to tape everything off with two people.
-first coat of paint went on in less than 20 minutes, second coat took about as long.
-finishing up, used some satin finish $4 cans of Walmart black spray paint for the bumpers and emblems
-to remove all the tape was about two hours.

Its way more difficult than I expected when I did my 2000 Tundra. The weather changed daily , 30's to 50's and rainy. Nice job you did.

Lmao I wasn’t happy with it at first, but it’s grown on me. The expedition was dark blue initially, in an effort to not have to paint the door jams, I chose “dark blue” as the color from raptor liner. Clearly the color isn’t dark at all lmao

You gotta give it up to the raptor stuff, I have seen a couple IRL and they look as good in person as they do on camera. No paint booth, no paint protective wear, done in the middle of your own driveway? It's pretty much the easiest way to paint your automobile yourself, the only question I haven't been able to answer is how long does it hold up?

Raptor lined everything, that hit the bumpers with some satin black rattle cans from walmart. and no, door jams are still dark blue

Did you use any degreaser after your surface prep? Did you use any primer on the roof rust or adhesion promoter on the plastics
no degreaser, no primer, no adhesion promoter either. pressure washed and good wipe down! seems to be holding up just fine
I sand with an orbital and use bulldog adhesion promoter. Works great!
Great video! We're prepping our 1982 Square Body Suburban for raptor paint two tone, black and desert sandish. Converting it to a camper. Now I'm wondering if we need more than 12 liters. 😳

What is holding the emblems on vehicle? How did you put them back? Can't you just tape them up? Say the truck has 4x4 off road on right side on bed...what would you do? Nice job!
i just used some rtv lol hasnt fallin off yet! and yes, taping them up would also work. and id probably pull the 4x4 emblem off, but taping would absolutely work

@@n34z3r that was 1 kit, the 12 liter kit. If I were to do it again, I’d purchase that same kit, plus a smaller kit. Just too big of an SUV for only 12 liters of product
