There are so many 'serious' modelers on TH-cam, most of whom seem to have deep pockets and all the time and patience in the world. I have the time, but not the pockets or patience. Thank you for reminding me that this is for fun. I remember as a kid building kits and having a blast. There was no internet back then, and nobody to compare my work to, or to critique my work. I was blissfully ignorant and having fun. I like your philosophy of building for yourself and loving it. That's what I'm going to do. Thanks Chris! Time to get building!
What a coincidence my brother bought me this kit for my birthday. As yet I have not got past the instruction book but watching your video has taken the fear out of it.I can't wait to get started. Just as an aside my father was in North Africa in tanks and saw far too many of these German tanks for comfort. As you might gather I am no spring chicken but I still enjoy building models and learning new tricks from your videos many thanks.
Been watching your vids for a while. Remodeling the new house currently, can't wait to get back to it. I just picked up the white/freightliner sd/dd and the mack R685ST because of your reviews. 👍😎
What's interesting to me is how much realism you get with your models in general, especially with the weathering. I used to follow a person who mostly builds fighter planes. I was put off by how rude and elitist he was to me personally when he found out I mostly build cars. You made me excited about building models again so thanks for that! Can't wait for the next build dude! Peace and blessings
That sucks, but there are all kinds of those folks out there. No rudeness here, ever, aside from some ribbing to irritate the haters and I moderate the comments to remove the mean folks that have to grow up. Build what you like, have fun doing it! Thanks for coming along for the videos!
Great build- always amazed at what you do with spray cans and readily available materials. Also - geat mindset about the hobby and why we should do what we do. Cheers /Fredrik
I’m not really into military models, but I enjoy your builds. So, I always watch. I how you do the detail work. This looks like a great well designed and detailed kit.
Nice kit, nice build and finish. Also nice to see a bit of armour from you. Not built too many Academy kits but have a Tiger 1 Early to dust off and make a start on. Probably my canvas for trying out some weathering and that "battle damaged" look. 👍🏻
Really nice job, Chris, on a really nice kit. 9.75. Weld seams would take it to a perfect 10. All these builders online with $10,000 of gear have got nothing on you. I'm severely disabled and wish I could build again(you know what they say about wishes), but your builds help make my days better. Always look forward to the next hpiguys.
Wonderful work. The best part is you are using inexpensive items to get the same effects as the expensive products. Something I do and try to explain to others.
Wow I've been waiting for a armor build from you. Its been a while and you did a awesome job Chris. You have fun and that what I love about your channel. " Build for you". Looking forward to the next build. 👍👍
Nice video...the PE screens you had left over are for the rear, they go under the engine deck above the mufflers, the area that's framed off. Your tracks were on backwards, the vertical part on the tracks goes on the bottom. Just trying to give constructive criticism not bashing your efforts.
Hello! Great job on the Panzer Build! I do RC versions of these vehicles, mainly in 1/16 scale. ( easier on my eyes tho' I do build them in 1/35 and1/72 to research what the paint I pick will look like ) I agree that when you build something, build it for yourself and have fun with it. No need for an us vs them when it comes to our Hobby ( or anything else at all, really ;o) Following along.
Great job on the weathering....it looks like it just rolled out of the desert. Its nice to see the use of simple materials and techniques. There are so many expensive armor weathering products on the market that its getting ridiculous. Hopefully none of the German tank nerds don't add their input in the comments. Things like "Your color is too light! It was partly cloudy at 3:17 pm on that date" or "you have the wrong type of bird poop on the turret! Indigenous birds only ate berries, so there would clearly be seeds in it, and not the generic poop that you used." 😝
this comment! 1000% agree. People are getting stupid with this hobby in many cases. Love this channel because he brings it back down to earth and still gets awesome results.
Well my friend there's not much for me to say here.. everyone else has pretty well covered it. I'll just say nice job! Keep working and keep the videos coming. Oh by the way not all of us Grumpy Old Men are bad......lol😁👍
Chris. I have a question. What is the name of the super glue that you use? I have used that Gorilla super glue and it does not work. Nice tank. Take care.
I use the little red squeeze bottles from the dollar store. Sometimes they have teeny bottles of Krazy glue and I use that too just like shown in this video. I don't rough handle my stuff or take it to shows so I rarely have an issue with it. www.dollartree.com/super-glue-1oz-containers/198663 www.dollartree.com/all-purpose-krazy-glue-052oz-tubes/170002
Awesome build Chris. It sure was a nice break from all this election crap on tv. Again excellent weathering and detail. I think this was one of the few builds that didn't get the Testors Silver treatment! Again excellent work and thank you for the video, so sick of the election crap.
What modelling for fun , Sacrilege ! Burn the Heretic ! LOL ! Great video , love your builds , nice and easy ! Hope you and your loved ones are well. Until the next one, take care ! Tony
I rarely have issues with one over the other. But, I also almost always shoot all my base colors before any have cured all the way too and I think that makes all the difference. The entire process of painting the spray paints on these kits takes about the same amount of time you see on screen. I don't let them sit for days or a week to dry between shooting colors.
Thank you for not being a "rivet counter" when it comes to building military subject models. You really emphasize what model building is all about. . . having fun and not expecting to be a perfectionist.
I was a little upset Saturday...but this more than makes up for it. I build models with a feeling of melancholy and looks of consternation!!! Lol Why build models if not for fun. Man 1: "I am a field engineer." Man 2: "That sounds awesome, I am just stuck building plastic models for eight hours a day. They don't pay me enough for that chore!!" said no person ever!!!!
Hi there, I was wondering if you were going to be doing a build video on the Rodan kit? You did a great job on the other Godzilla kits. Hope all is well with you and stay safe my friend. That academy kit is nice, always enjoy your videos.
My dad was in the Army in north Africa during ww2. He said the German tanks were the best they were diesel and when they got hit they would seldom light on fire Our American tanks were gasoline and when they got hit they would go up. They called them ronsons after the cigarette lighter

Wow, another fun build Chris! Excellent craftsmanship!!
Thanks for watching!
Good build as always. Love that you show different types of models on your channel.
Yep, that's how I feel............
More to come!

Your channel got me back into modeling. I like when I buy a kit and watch your builds for hints.
That's awesome!
nice build chris, and a change of pace too
Thanks Mouse, I love anything I get to build!
Wow! Real nice Chris! Looks like it belongs on the front line of any battle!
Thanks 👍
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more of your work
Thanks and welcome!

Welcome back, enjoy!
Love watching your car & truck videos, but this was fantastic seeing you do armor
Thank you!
It's easy to get caught up in all the hype...but you remind us it's supposed to be enjoyable. Thanks for the grounding !
Exactly, step back and actually enjoy a hobby again! Too many have lost the joy and fun in what is supposed to be an enjoyable past time.

Great build as always. Thanks so much for the tutorial on the tracks. Stay calm and model on!
Thanks, will do!
Great work sir. And I love what said. Yup it’s all about having fun not stress. Love your channel very helpful

Amazing how you make styrene look like metal with actual heft to it. Wow. Nicely done my dude
Thank you very much! I love making models and helping others enjoy it!
I have never built an armor kit, this might be a good starter. Good Job as always!
Yes, it wasn't a challenge, this new stuff is very well designed.
Weathering masterclass great build Chris
Glad you like it!
Nice kit, nice build and finish. Also nice to see a bit of armour from you.
Not built too many Academy kits but have a Tiger 1 Early to dust off and make a start on. Probably my canvas for trying out some weathering and that "battle damaged" look. 👍🏻
Cool, thanks!
Love the way you say to folks build the way you want to build 100% agree with you Chris its the way it should be . Excellent stuff by the way .
Thanks Neil!

Cool Chris! I’m glad to see you doing some armored vehicles, good deal buddy! 👍👍! Looks good too!
Thanks 👍 I love them, I just don't get a lot sent to the show but I'm hoping to change that and expand folks' minds to other things!
@@hpiguy - Right on buddy, I hear ya! Awesome stuff no doubt! Take care and stay safe! ✌🏻
This is a nice surprise indeed!
Thanks for watching!

Awesome build, the texturing on the German tanks like the one you built is called Zimmerit. It protected the tank
Thanks for watching!
The molding looks exceptional.
It is!
" I build models for fun only" Best statement I have heard today!!
You bet! Bringing the FUN back to modelling!
Great build..i never got into building the tank model kits but this one that you built looks pretty neat and realistic😊😊😊👍👍👍
Thanks a bunch!
Nice video...the PE screens you had left over are for the rear, they go under the engine deck above the mufflers, the area that's framed off. Your tracks were on backwards, the vertical part on the tracks goes on the bottom. Just trying to give constructive criticism not bashing your efforts.
Thanks for the info!
Cool build chris i did a couple of the Sherman tanks great wheathing tricks love it thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
I live near a small town in Texas called Hearne. It had a WW2 POW camp for a lot of the Panzer Afrika Corp. Neat tid bit of history for a mall town
Nice! We had POWs at Fort McCoy in WI.

I mostly build cars also, but it's always fun to do a tank or two now and then.................... Good job on the Panzer 👍👍👍
Right on!
Well my friend there's not much for me to say here.. everyone else has pretty well covered it.
I'll just say nice job! Keep working and keep the videos coming. Oh by the way not all of us Grumpy Old Men are bad......lol😁👍

Great build...just a heads up...german tracks didn't rust...they contained magnesium....
Very kool tank .
Cool video 😁Mike Espo .
Thanks!
It is on my bucket list to go to Vegas and go out in the desert , there is a place that has tanks you can drive . OOOOO YEA
Mike Espo .
Wow no DAK emblem included with the decals? Nice build.
Academy have certainly made an excellent kit.
Yes!
Boy Chris another great job you should build some Maschinen Krieger model kits like to see how they turn Out ps Have lots of fun
Maybe one day! They do look cool!
No clear coat? Or did i miss that?

Yeah, decided to run it Tuesday to have something nice on the screen. We sure need it these days.
What modelling for fun , Sacrilege ! Burn the Heretic ! LOL ! Great video , love your builds , nice and easy ! Hope you and your loved ones are well. Until the next one, take care ! Tony
Thanks Tony, let's bring the fun back to making models!!!!
I had some issues with the Rustoleum primer and krylon paint...is this uncommon? You seem to get them to play well together obviously
I rarely have issues with one over the other.
But, I also almost always shoot all my base colors before any have cured all the way too and I think that makes all the difference.

Looks really good!

Yea!! Armour amore!! Great work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Total package looks real fine..........
Thanks!
You could use that for a coin bank, attached top with a magnet, nice job Chris, looks really good
Thanks 👍
I Love how english people speak the German words 😂👍 PS can you do like a crashed Fighter Jet or Something Like that ? Nice Video Like all ways
I'm half German ancestry but I'm cool with mispronouncing stuff.

I don't build armor (I did buy a Hanomag at HL for $5 US at HL), but this one is going on my list.
I'm a car guy Michael, but a tank can be fun once in a while!!
Enjoy it!
