Find some in your garage?
Thank you for making this video. Just got some lights like in your video. I’m going to do mine like this. Really like how clean it came out. Good job.
That's an old video! lol
@@matt13ross How did it hold up over time?
Just fine
I’ve been looking for a video and install I would do to my truck and finally found it! Thanks for the thorough vid and walkthrough, gorgeous truck too!
Thanks man! Post up some pics when done
Boosted Apex lol you’re ZR2 minimax would put mine to shame, but will do
Nah mines mostly stock anyway lol
Great video, thank you! I use that aluminum from HD for a bunch of stuff too, great idea here. I just ordered a 4 pack for mine. It's a Trail Runner so it has the Bison grill and three wouldn't work I don't think. Thanks for putting this up.
You're welcome glad I could help! So you're going to use 4 lights instead of 3? I've seen some ZR2s like that, 3 or 4 both look good.
@@matt13ross Yeah, the way that grill (I think they call it the Bison grill?) is, there is an open space to the left and right of the center but the center is blocked by part of the design so I'll just do two bulbs to the left and two to the right. Thanks again!
Happy New Year's
After watching a few other videos I like the aluminum idea. Zip ties, tape or drilling into the front of the grill wasn't sitting well with me
Yup, worked well and never failed me.
How do I measure capability? If a ZR2 can follow a jeep rubicon anywhere, I'd say its very capable. Great video.
Joel Esparza you’re right it is very capable. I’m just a sucker for Raptors 😬
@@matt13ross look at the extreme zr2 (750hp) V8 swapped with a super charger no videos offroading through smh, but there are supercharged 450hp zr2's out with videk
Awesome job 👍 thanks for sharing
Are your DRL led or stocked?
Not sure what you mean
@@matt13ross I meant the bulbs. OEM or aftermarket LED
LED
AWESOME job do you want to come to my house and do that to my ZR2
Ha, it's pretty easy give it a try!
@@matt13ross what type And size bolt nuts did you use to secure the homemade brackets
@@matt13ross I also install a catback borla 304 stainless exhaust system With the K&N air filter I have the 3.6 liter My ZR2 Is Orange with the black trim Extended cab
I wish mine was orange
I don’t remember to be honest. You can use a variety of sizes doesn’t have to be specific.
how do you ground it?
Really anywhere on the chassis.
CLEARANCES lights. Any vehicle with a width over 80 inches needs marker amber lights. Raptor thought it would be cool to put them in the grill instead of on roof top.
Yessir that’s why I call them Raptor lights. They were the first to implement them in the grill and I love the look. (Secretly love Raptors too)
Which fuse did you run too? F50?
Not sure if I didn't mention it in the video.
Do you think the led will last long time?
Lasted a year and a half + so far.
If you make a vehicle that’s over 80 inches wide, it starts to fall into various "commercial vehicle" categories, and one of the requirements of vehicles this size is that they have - in the words of our government - "three amber front and three red rear identification lamps spaced between 6 and 12 inches apart at the center of the front and rear of the vehicle, as high as practicable." This is why you see these lights on an F-150 Raptor (over 80 inches wide) and not on a regular F-150 (79.9 inches wide - likely not a coincidence). It’s also why you see the lights on heavy-duty trucks and not light-duty models.
Yessir that’s what I’ve read. I just like the look.
So if the F150 has flares then they will need them
@@MacB369 maybe
Not capable, you must not offroad in this truck. This truck is extremely capable.
I know it’s capable. I have taken it off road at Rausch Creek. I’d say a Raptor is more capable though. The Colorado has the size and diff locker advantage but that’s really it.
Why make a Chevy look like a Ford wannabe?
I like the look of them, that’s why
It's more capable than a raptor, trust me sir.
j s tell me more
It's stronger, built better and is designed to take more abuse. I own a colorado zr2, colorado z71 and 2018 ford raptor; the Colorado's are amazing but their transmissions are weak.
I still want a Silverado ZR2
Why would a ZR2 want Raptor lights? Wanna be?
Precisely
@@matt13ross Go buy a Raptor.
Not in the budget, but I appreciate their advantages over the ZR2. If Chevy ever makes a widebody proper long travel Silverado I'll buy that.
@@danwood4478 shut up karen. Broke ass bum
@@TX_SOLDIER hey Rick, be a bitch somewhere else. Who's talking to your whining ass anyways?
Not as capable? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The raptor is trash, bro.
Oooh I disagree, even as a Chevy fanboy, the Raptor is awesome.
@@matt13ross I've been an auto mechanic for the better part of fifteen years in a very reputable shop. I've seen them all and I'm here to tell you Ford and Mopar are absolute trash from a reliability and engineering standpoint. The ZR2 is so much more capable off-road than the Raptor. That's not opinion, that's fact.
Oh crap, my bad, dude. I didn't realize you had the diesel ZR2. Yeah, you're right. The diesel version definitely isn't as fast, capable or reliable as the Raptor. Should have bought the V-6 ZR2.
Not a V6 fan, and they get terrible mileage in the ZR2s.
@@matt13ross I average about 20-21mpg in mine. And since gas is cheaper than diesel, the little bit of extra fuel mileage is negated by the higher price of diesel. Plus, been seeing a lot of the diesels getting traded in lately and complaints. That's not a good sign. But hey, to each they're own, as long as you're happy that's all that matters 😊
