The only thing the VIPs valued was pleasure and that's an even more terrible thing. It's mostly how everyone sees the VIPs, someone else may view them as additional characters who aren't really neccessary to the script, and for some others they may realize something important out of it, like the fact people are being tormented for the sake of the VIP's entertainment. Squid Game's production budget was about $20M...a fraction of most other Netflix shows and Hollywood movies. But for Korea, $20M is a big budget and you can bet that Netflix will pour more money into Korean content in the future and you will see more edgy content from Korea. Win, win, win....a win for the global audience, a win for Korean actors & directors (...their contract value will skyrocket), and a win for Netflix.

Squid Game deserves all the attention they are getting. There is probably a parallel somehow that North Koreans are living in a never ending nightmare everyday.
