I think what makes the marble competition sad is the fact that many chose their friends or the person they trusted the most, since they had to make teams of two, They thought they were going to have to compete against other teams, not each other, in adittion to the fact that before playing, some of them stopped to talk, talk about personal things and dreams, They had an opportunity to get to know better the person they were going to kill, or who was going to kill them, in this competition you can see the most human side of all the participants and that gives it a special touch, Personally, it made me too sad when the friend of the North Korean defector sacrificed herself so that she can continue

I loved Ali's character. Despite we hate each other so much I felt a connection with that character. It actually shows the condition of people from the sub-continent.
I'm Korean and it still feels so weird yet fascinating to see a Korean show end up topping Netflix all over the world. I wouldn't be surprised if this show was popular within Asia only...but to be popular in the US, Europe, South America and even Africa...basically every continent...just WOW. I doubted this would happen cuz I thought it was just not bad but I guess I was wrong~
I'm in the US and watched the minute it came on Netflix. I keep telling my friend to watch Korean shows because they're missing out. NOW they believe me lol. Even got my boyfriend to watch it without English dubbing (which I hate)!
being asian i am just so happy and proud that the world is not just watching hollywood trash, so thanks to netflix for such a big audience...the themes and great acting, being poor desperate and feeling like expendable pawns in someone's else's universe is so meaningful to me. i think i was feeling like that when i was a perm employee for a well known british retailer for many years...just a zombie..clocking in and out....but as soon as i broke out, followed my heart, took risks to become a contractor, i really felt i took charge of my life...they way the contestants strategize....and find ways to get out of the hell hole they are in....it is very inspiring....it is just makes me think so much about how we handle our own lives and when we met with adversity. Squid Game deserves all the attention they are getting. There is probably a parallel somehow that North Koreans are living in a never ending nightmare everyday.
I just finished the series, and all I have to say is that this is the best Korean series ever. With all of the unexpected twists and turns, I couldn’t stop watching. Every single person in this series portrayed their character perfectly.

I wish they would’ve talked to the actor who played Ali. I loved how he was the only character who was a genuinely good person
It seems like if there ever will be a second season, it'll take years. The creator said "I don't have well developed plans for Squid Game 2. It is quite tiring just thinking about it. But if I were to do it, I would certainly not do it alone."
I just finished the series yesterday. Some deaths were really emotional to me, i cried a lot watching this. Squid Game is (with sweet home) my favorite kdrama of all time! I loved it, i want more content like that in the future
I’ve been watching kdramas for almost 3 years now, and I’ve been observing how Korea, their language and culture becomes more and more popular across the world. This show is none like any of the other kdramas I’ve seen, and they deserve all praise they get, but I also hope that because of this show the world will discover many other kdramas and actors / actresses, because there’s so many good productions to see!
The acting in this was so amazing! I felt what the actors were going through...and the fact that they have south Asian representation in this series just goes to show how evolving the entertainment industry worldwide is becoming!
PRACTICAL SETS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE OMG I WAS LOCKED IN THE WHOLE TIME. CGI, while great, can be really distracting sometimes, so just being able to focus on the characters and their dynamics really changed the game for this. congrats to everyone who worked on this series!

I’m still crying over episodes 6 and 8 so now I’m watching these videos about the show to remind myself that *it is just a show*, the actors did such a great job seeing that I’ve connected with the characters and had real emotions towards them, the storylines are amazing, the way the scenes were shot were amazing, overall this show is outstanding now we wait for season 2
Me too. I had to actively and deliberately remind myself that it's just a show for a couple of days after finishing it. It really got into my head. One of the best shows that I have ever seen.
We used to play "red light, green light" when we were kids in Norway. We only called it "Red light". Weird how kids around the globe play the same kind of games

by far, marbles was the saddest competition; was the only one that made me cry, though squid game made me come close
I cried so hard over Ali’s death. The last time I cried that hard was Ned Stark
@@deepthijoseph711 Same here! To find out that he was behind it all actually made me feel better because the whole time I felt bad for the old man
I think what makes the marble competition sad is the fact that many chose their friends or the person they trusted the most, since they had to make teams of two, They thought they were going to have to compete against other teams, not each other, in adittion to the fact that before playing, some of them stopped to talk, talk about personal things and dreams, They had an opportunity to get to know better the person they were going to kill, or who was going to kill them, in this competition you can see the most human side of all the participants and that gives it a special touch, Personally, it made me too sad when the friend of the North Korean defector sacrificed herself so that she can continue
