    I think it's so cool how Gong Yoo was able to pull off this manic, psychopathic character off so well that it left an imprint on us viewers even after his death. For the few minutes that he was on screen, he definitely acted incredibly well and definitely had his well-deserved moment on the show.

Like the evangelism about equality, and no violence against other players, yet they purposely give less food to them in S1 to spark a fight, or forks to players in S2 knowing that people are going to use them as weapons. The ones that make and enforce the rules, aren't following the rules themselves, rather sitting back and manipulating the lower class as they wish without consequences.

    Something that director Hwang reminds me of is that you should never give up, no matter how long it takes to reach your goal and it's never late for you to reach the goal. Dude waited a whole decade for his script to become a tv series and when it did....we know the rest

    • @kareningram6093
      @kareningram6093 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +46

      It's actually a good thing that it was delayed for a decade. When Hwang wrote the first draft in 2009, Netflix didn't offer original programming yet. Its first original show, House of Cards, didn't come out until 2013. So, if Squid Game had been made a decade earlier, it is likely it would not have become the global phenomenon that it is today. There would not have been a good platform for it, Netflix or otherwise.

Even if he could somehow kill Frontman and destroy the control room, they (the VIPs for example) could build another arena and find someone else as Frontman because they want to see games like this and I don't think they would quit from Korea just because of this incident.

    I watched the first season expecting it to be overrated, and to my surprise, it was one of the best shows I've seen. Then I was disappointed because it ends on a cheap cliffhanger hinting at a cash grab season 2, as the story was clearly over by that point.
    So then I watched season 2 expecting it to suck, and to my surprise, it's one of the best continuations I've seen in a tv show, so many clever and interesting choices were made that it even elevated the elements I didn't like as much from season 1.
    My only gripe is that it's being marketed as season 2 and 3 when clearly both are just season 2, but whatever. Looking forward to being surprised again when the second half of season 2 comes out. Great show

    Director said throughout season 2 and season 3 it’s not a physical fight between gihun and front man, but a mental one. Also saying how frontman still has a bit of faith in humanity and kept changes his emotions throughout season 2 and said he has some regret about what he’s done. Also the actor has said in another interview front man was sort of rooting for gihun that he is right about humanity and his beliefs. I can definitely see frontman having a change of heart and helping gihun in the end to stop the games. Think he will finally realise he is in the wrong and there is faith in humanity and hope. But once he reveals himself and wants to stop the games the other guy in all black will say the rule about once you reveal yourself you have to die and then it will be frontman and the players and his brother against the guy all in black. I can see frontman either sacrificing himself for someone as he’s said before he has nothing to live for out of the games (wife and unborn baby died) or he will end up surviving and going for a drink with gihun like he promised. So many ways it could go though, I just think it’s too predictable and boring if he just stays as frontman season 3

      I completely agree with you, I think throughout the games he wanted to believe that Gi-hun had a moral conscience way higher than others and that that is proof that pure goodness still exists. But I believe he stopped believing in him the second Gi-hun was okay with sacrificing people for the “greater good”. It’s gonna be very interesting to see how in the end he decides to play out his final role (I do believe he is gonna die, but I do kinda wish it’s as a sacrifice, realising what he did was wrong.)

    Season 2 has given us a rather scary and dark image about “The cost and price for freedom”. Whether it’s paid with blood or money, it really tests Gi-huns lesson on how his blinded revenge turned out to just be an illusional righteous path poisoned with bad deeds, and how people must face the abyss without being consumed. In fact, we could say that the whole world is a gamble. Every action, even good ones, have a consequence (e.g. sparing a murderer is like giving him another bullet in his gun).
    In season 1, Il-nam warned Gi hun of this. Too much or too little of something has the same effect. Spilling too much blood, or being blinded by revenge, or placing unimaginable bets. From these two seasons, we’ve seen Gi-hun as nothing but a gambler, or as the recruiter said “lucky trash”. After all, he was chosen by the recruiter for his crippling debts.
    His reality snaps back hard when his old best friend dies. It destroyed him so much that his hopes for revenge diminished. All we can hope for now is that Gi-hun does not give up on his path, and see how he is going to stop the games. It also tests the question: Can justice really bring peace?

    재밌게 본것 중 하나가, 조금씩 달라지는 기훈의 모습들이었습니다. 기훈은 사람들을 죽이며 겜하는 자들을 멈추게 하고 싶었어요. 그래서 준비했고 다시 게임 안으로 들어갔죠. 그런데 계획과는 다르게 상황이 진행되면서 기훈은 점점 변해갔어요. 사람들의 죽음을 안타까워하고 막고 싶었던 그가 시즌2 마지막쯤까지 가면서 자신이 다 살릴수 없다는 현실과 타협하면서 결국 큰뜻을 위해 소수의 희생을 감수하는 모습을 보이죠. 그건 분명 시즌1에서의 기훈과 시즌2 초반의 기훈과는 확실히 달라진 모습이었어요. 그로인해 그는 게임 안에서 가장 가깝고 친밀했던 친구를 잃게 되죠. 프론트맨은 기훈에게, 너 역시 나뿐만 아니라 이 게임에 참가하는 다른 사람들과 똑같은 인간이라는것을 각인시켜주고 싶은것 같습니다. 어쩌면 프론트맨은 기훈이 자신과는 다르다고 생각했었을수도 있습니다. 그래서, 저는 프론트맨이 게임에 직접 참가하여 가장 가까운곳에서 기훈을 지켜보고 싶었을지도 모른다고 생각했습니다. 그런데, 결국 기훈도 똑같은 인간이었던거죠. 기훈 역시 자신의 신념을 위해, 어쩌면 복수를 위해, 다른 사람들을 이용했으니까요. 마지막쯤엔 사람들이 죽어도 신경쓰지 않고 오직 병정들을 쓰러뜨리고 위를 칠 생각만 했으니까요. 저는 시즌2를 보니 다시 시즌1이 보고 싶어져서 다시 봤는데, 보면 볼수록 대단한 작품이라는 생각뿐입니다. 시즌2도 다시 보니 여러가지가 새롭게 보이면서 느껴지더라고요. 황감독님이 정말 대단합니다. 어떻게 이런 이야기들을 만들수있는지...시즌3도 기대되고, 빨리 나왔으면 좋겠어요.ㅎㅎㅎ

    When I finished the first season in 2021, I thought that another season was unnecessary and considered it a lazy cash-grab. I was proven wrong. Season 2 has some flaws but it adds more layer to the lore and world building. I hope that the final season would show us the origin or maybe a quick flashblack on previous games prior to the present.

    • @sweetp3660
      @sweetp3660 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@auraya1604 if it’s a full time job, working 8hr+ a day year round then yes, and very much so taking into account how busy korean subway stations are, and each game of ddakgi maybe lasting around 10-15 mins, it’s not too far of a stretch.
      Also gong yoo was a lunatic with a specialialty in successfully manipulating and recruiting players. this is his entire life and there’s nothing else to him. he loves (maybe not the right word to use) his work, i honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he had a very high success rate in recruiting players which is why they kept him for so long.
      NOW, im ngl i hope this isn’t true and theres other recruiters, however im not sure this is the case since surely over 2 years of searching for the salesman, surely if there were others they would have been spotted at least once right? i mean they eventually found gong yoo with lower chances so why not?
      anyway i rambled on enough, but each possibility can be true, after all it’s a show, anything can happen lol
