  • Welcome back to my channel 😁.
In todays video I unbox and assemble the new "AlgoLaser DIY KIT".
For full disclosure this laser has been sent to me for the purpose of review, I am not being paid to produce this video so it is an un-biased and honest review.
This is the new Algo laser DIY KIT and as the name suggests it will require some assembly.
I hope this video helps you or at lease gives you an insight as to what is required to get up and running with this laser kit.
Further videos will follow to help you through this laser journey.
Thanks again to ‪@algolaserofficial‬ for the opportunity to make this video 😁👍.

Very nice video my friend. You are a natural instructor, and you even make an old clown like me feel confident that I could set up a laser. 🤡👍

Would it engrave black rubber like used on rooftops, that kind of material? and is it possible to place it on a rubber sheet like that?
And where can i buy it? Thanks :)

Hi Frank, got your new laser I remember before you were approached by another laser company for there product. You had trouble with the last one and you were sent a replacement circuit board and I hoped it resolved the problem. Good to see you back, can't wait to see how you get on with this new laser. Are you on Shed Space tomorrow at 7 with Rob and Mark, it's on Weekend Shed Head Rob's channel. See you soon Take care😁👍

Great video Frank! I have also received this laser and am currently about to start editing my video. Yours seem much more professional than mine will be 😂. I'm a complete noob with lasers so it has been a big learning curve so far. Currently on the trial version of Lightburn, but will definitely purchase the full programme.

😃 Hi Jiggsy, looking forward to watching your video 😃👍. If I could recommend anything it would be to buy the lightburn software. It just dose exactly what you need it to do and dose it really well. Thanks for watching mate 😁👍

@frankslittleworkshop yeah, I am definitely sold on lightburn. Getting more familiar with it now, though definitely still a lot to learn. Managed to do a couple of Christmas baubles to test out the cutting.

Nice video mate, not sure why i watched it as ive just uoloaded the same video on my channel for the exact same laser. I enjoy review tyoe videos though & yours is a great video. Mine was the same length as yours but i ended up shortening mine.
For a budget laser it looks really good in my opinion. Only set mine up so far so not tested it just yet.

😁 Nice one Dave, ill check out yours later. I've only used mine very quickly so far and it appears to work well. Think I need to give it a good testing 😁. Thanks for watching Dave 😁👍

Hey Frank.....So..... looking forward to the using of the laser....does one have to buy a "programme" for the laptop or does it come with a programme to do some design/engraving etc? Im still toying with the idea of getting one and cheap is always appealing! cheers for the video and the content....

😁 Hi Adam. I use Lightburn software. You do need to buy it, but it is probably the best thing to get. You can get some free GRBL software but I prefer Lightburn. There is an APP that should work with the AlgoLaser DIY KIT which I plan on trying in the next video (hopefully it will work OK). Thanks for watching 😁 👍

    hello frank.can it cut ?

    • @frankslittleworkshop
      @frankslittleworkshop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

😁 Hi Jeriecoh, yes it can cut. But it is only a 5.5W laser so it is quite limited. I have cut up to 4.6mm ply wood, but it takes about 4 passes at about 90%. Its great for cutting other materials like paper / card / foam etc but its best at engraving. If you want to do more cutting I would suggest at least a 10W laser. Hope that helps 😁. Thanks for watching 😁 👍
