There are people in the US that know of Lenny Henry and yes, a lot of us "get" your humor. I loved "Chef". This clip was a riot. "Trained by God". BAAAAAAAHAHA !!
My nan died today at 6.45pm, so I purposely watched this and it made me laugh through my tears. Thanks Lenny, appreciate it.

Why is this guy almost unknown in the USA. I lived in Britain in the 80's and I loved his shows. To this day most Yanks have never heard of him.

I am from Montreal, Canada..never heard of this guy , til I just watched an interview with Dawn French, whom of course I am super familiar with, but did not know til today she used to be married to this guy...
My question is..are blacks liked or not very liked in the UK..is there alot of discrimination?

With respect, I totally disagree, if he was as less talented as you say, then he would not still be popular Today. Hard Work and Talent and you can keep up your Career like that. If you don't like him then that's your opinion, but I happen to think he's hugely talented and funny. Just my opinion.
Having said that though, it is surprising how few people of a Non-European origin there are in politics, it does make me wonder how well someone of an African or Asian descent might fair in a campaign to become Prime Minister. I think a lot of people who claim not to be racist still hold controversial views, such as anti-migration, and will claim that someone is not English even if they have many generations of family living in England just because of their skin colour.
He's much loved in the UK. A lot of People posting here are biased cos he happens to have Black Skin. And he is funny in lots of his other interviews and Shows.
He's both adorable & hot- Dawn's lucky.

People on the whole are friendly, and Lenny is a successful career man regardless of race. A few "celebrities" could take a leaf or two out of this guys book, about how not to take yourself too seriously.

An interesting question, I think racists are generally either laughed at (such as an elderly relative) or thought of as stupid for the most part in the white community. In my experience the majority of racism is aimed at those of a middle-eastern or southern Asian origin or of an eastern European origin. Racism against those of African origin is considered less acceptable, although the majority of the Caucasian community views racism as unacceptable anyway.
Mate, Lenny Henry has been making thousands and thousands of People laugh for a few Decades. Thats not to be scoffed at.
His humour is quite gentle compared to modern comedy. modern comedy is brash, nasty and offensive.
Lenny's humour is very old school. But i prefer old school humour.

It might be down to the fact he and Richard Curtis launched Comic Relief and now in 2020 it has raised over a billion pounds for charities in UK and Africa. Might that not be the answer, or is it always about race for people?
What's race got to do with it? There are lots of entertainers who raise millions for charity and have been doing it for years that we don't hear about.
