I like it how they did this scene in the movie better than the books. In the book it was just Thomas looking in and he sees Minho carrying Alby. Then as Thomas yells for Newt, Newt comes running back over. Newt has a bad leg so he doesn’t make it, but as he’s coming over he says “DONT YOU BLOODY DO IT GREENIE” and Thomas goes in last second. The movie has the whole group cheering and stuff which makes it more epic when Thomas runs in
Minho is a beast and probably my favourite of the Gladers, but I really hated how he grabbed Thomas and called him “Shukface”. But can you blame him? He knows the maze better than everyone else. He’s been running it for 3 years, knows it like the back of his hand and is stuck with a friend that’s pretty much doomed. Thomas has just arrived and is asking where they can hide Alby when there really isn’t a place to. He can’t imagine the horror of being trapped in there when surviving the night is highly unlikely and having to accept your fate. I love Minho now, but it took me a while to like him in the beginning.

Hes also been running it and mapping it for a long time now and has long since understood the risks. But again I do feel what you're saying is a fair point. I just think it's silly he was willing to risk his life to save his friend only to give up on the prospect moments later already having killed himself anyways from his perspective. Couldn't live with himself before leaving him for dead, but now he can? Idk. Fun to over-think though lol

The guy was already wavering but still stayed to try and get Alby safe until Minhos fear and/or survival instincts took over. And Alby was pretty high up there when he ran so it was really just Thomas he was leaving but they also hadn't bonded yet.

Man the details they put in the movie is masterpiece!!! They dont make these types of movies anymore. The Maze design and the survival tactic looks elite. And the Emotions they put in this movie is just on another level💥. Especially Chucks death 💔
It's a great adaptation, the only thing I disliked was how they (from what I remember anyway) simplified the puzzle of the Maze itself, but what they wrote was alot easier for an audience to understand so this is fair enough. The sequels were also pretty good despite straying quite far from the books in parts.
I think Minho is just as brave and heroic as Thomas is. Alby...his leader, his brother, his friend,....gets stung by a Griever, and rather than leaving his friend to die alone, he conked him over the head and tried to get Alby back to the Glade, so he could save him....and even when the gates of the Maze were closing, and he KNEW that staying outside with Alby meant certain death for him, he STILL stayed, rather than abandon his friend. That is loyalty. Then between the two of them, they not only survive a night in the maze...they keep an unconscious Alby alive too.

I often wonder, just in a general standpoint, when someone is in danger, how long will it take for even one person to stand forward to help instead of hoping on the sideline? If it came down to it, I'd hope that I could be the difference.
