I got reverted because I accidentally shot the beam at the gun range and my CC just had a hard on for me. I got reverted but it was a 2 week gap because it was the holiday season but my next company was cool and the CC’s left me alone. Good times :P
Two things standout about my experience going thru boot in 1980. My first wakeup in Cape May we were told to fall out and were "informed" that the Blackthorn had just been lost. The CCs rode us so hard and stressed us so bad I don't think anybody took a dump for the first two or three days. The other thing - don't ever let anyone wisecrack publicly about another company's boot carrying out duties (one example I witnessed, telling the color bearer they are too ugly to carry the colors). Kind of funny but your entire company will pay dearly.
Reversions over watch were weird. I knew one guy who got reverted for being late to watch in week 5 but then the very last watch of week 7, a guy was late and all that happened to him was having to do IT in front of a CC's hatch (which was funny as hell).
