Shannen Doherty has always been transparent about the struggles she has faced. Now, the actress has revealed a new struggle that she's kept out of the public eye.
"It's going to come out in a matter of days or a week that -- I'm stage four. So my cancer came back. And that's why I'm here," Doherty told ABC News' Amy Robach in an interview that aired Tuesday on "Good Morning America." "I don't think I've processed it. It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways."
In the interview, the 48-year-old opened up about her breast cancer’s recurrence and how she coping with it.

Lung cancer can be caused by smoking but even then 65,000 people a year die from second hand smoking which means they have never smoked either but due to smoke inhalation they are diagnosed with it. This news though devastating, doesn't mean the end, by any means. I had stage 4 breast cancer, a very aggressive kind, 29 years ago. They gave me 6 months but God had other plans for me. Don't give up! Always have hope that God can absolutely heal you. He is a God of miracles. The Bible days "With God, all things are possible." I am living proof of this!

My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer stage 4 seventeen years ago and with radiotherapy and a natural diet, he stay with us, God bless him and I know He is blessing you too.

My dad has stage 4 liver cancer. He has no more metastasis as he has done radiotherapy. But he is still under hormonotherapy now. I pray for him everyday so it doesn't come back or that he can treat it well.

Unfortunately stage 4 is pretty terrible...it means it's spread :-( And it's within 5 years remission which is also not good :-( If you make it past 5 years you have more of a chance.
Stage 4 isn’t a death sentence either I’ve known plenty of people who have healed and in remission and is cancer free. Don’t give up keep the faith even if you feel like you are in a dark place. Don’t let fear take you ! Speak Life not Death !

You can go 12 years or more in remission with either breast cancer or any type of cancer and the cancer can and will return in either the same area or in another part of the body. I speak from experience because I had Esophageal Cancer in 1995, Breast Cancer in 2008 & Ovarian Cancer in 2011. I'm in remission right now and I pray the cancer never returns but my odds are very slim...sad thing is, it most likely will!!! My heart & prayers goes out to Shannen Doherty!

Just because she was forced to disclose her health issues in a law suit that the public can access doesn’t mean anybody would actually be reading her court papers, especially on an insurance case. My mom battled through metastatic breast cancer. She worked for as long as she could, too.
My mom (Linda Faye Boyer - Lee) was a hard worker. She was always worried about everyone around her (family, her students, friends). She did her best to hide her cancer diagnosis.
She was an amazing mom, friend and teacher.
On my mom's last day, her final four words were, "thank you. Love you."

I can definitely relate to Shannen’s situation, my mom battled this disease for 15 years on and off. You just really don’t know when it will sneak on you yet again. Just when you thought you’re cancer free, then it comes back and you’re oh ok... here’s hoping that she gets through this soon.

That 90210 episode entitled It's Only a Test, was an *extremely* important episode when it originally aired back in 1991. I was 15 at the time and that episode was my first introduction (along with a million other young teenage girls I'm sure) to breast cancer and the importance of self-examination starting at a young age. I'm so proud of the 90210 writers and Shannon for taking on such an important topic and handling it so well. Unfortunately breast cancer can strike at any age and while most lumps do end up benign, self-examination is crucial to early detection & treatment and that episode played a pivotal role in educating millions of young women on the subject. Also you gotta remember that the episode aired in 1991, way before the internet and social media. Nowadays you can access info on breast cancer with the click of a button but that wasn't the case in 1991. This was how important subjects were brought to light and addressed back then, by addressing them on hugely successful tv shows like 90210. Relevant topics like AIDS, drugs, sexual assault & rape, teen pregnancy and physical abuse were all dealt with on 90210 and the writers did a fantastic job educating an entire generation of young people on these important issues. So don't ever be sorry this episode aired, it's importance cannot be overstated. I guarantee you it helped, and continues to help still, a lot of young women who watch & rewatch the episode.

I watched her previous video during her remission to give myself strength when my mother was going through chemotherapy (and still is ). It is heartbreaking to learn that cancer came back . 13 rounds of chemo...breast removed 3 weeks ago... she's so run down..it's brutal..I'm her mom and all I do is cry....
She ate well. Never smoked or drank..

I still can’t comprehend that she played Brenda in Beverly Hills, 90210 and Brenda found a lump in her breast and she was worried about but it was later found that it was benign. Awaken&Chosen oddly, there’s scientific truth to this. Clinical studies showed the stress that comes with just watching the news is horrible for cancer and tumors. Every doctor I saw told me not to watch it and to drop all other stress as well. It took a very strong Will to do this to the best of my ability. Stage 4 breast was my diagnosis. Bone, tumors on spine, sacrum , hips and sternum. Today I’m cancer free 4+ years. No chemo, no radiation. Now i share what I did and the drastic changes I made within myself. The fear is awful...terrifying, in fact. Because I’m not special (except I read a lot) I share with anyone who asks just what I did. I send Shannon good vibes , see her as healing, her body recovering completely as it’s designed to heal. When the environment changes, cancer cells can even turn back into healthy cells. 😇🙏🏽
