Interesting hearing him say he hoped to make it to 2001. I was shocked and saddened when I heard the news in 2000 about his passing. When I was a youngster I listened to his sermons every Sunday morning at 6am on KEAR in the SF Bay Area. My dad require us all to wake up early, even on the weekends. A practice I still do today. Another practice I continue is listening to his sermons.
Oh my, what a wonderful thing to find Dr. Boice. I often look for his sermons but at almost 80 years old...and like my friend, dear brother Albert N Martin...some time ago he agreed with me generally re all the too fast changes in this tech world that I would be happier had it all come upon us after the Lord called me, or us, to glory. I like the 1950's and '60's. Last, thanks for this being posted and I never, for many years can tire of this great speaker. He was taken from us, the Lord's plan for him. Dr. Boice left us all his books and if anyone knows a site where I may listen to him(?) please let me know. Best, w
Having been listening to Dr. Boice on the radio on my way to church every Sunday. I am fascinated of his depth of knowledge of both scripture and secular writings. He is sound with our Christian belief and his wide reading of book, makes him a treasure.
Sad. There just isn’t teachers such as this for the ‘Body if Christ’ within the building made with hands today. A famine that is spreading and rapidly. No teachers. Not TRUE such as Dr. Boice. I discovered a book by Dr. Boice for the first time a few days ago while studying in Logos. Quite by accident. The work is so outstanding I was surprised it was part of my Silver library. The book? “The Foundations of the Christian Faith: A Comprehensive & READABLE Theology”. Such a WIN for my spiritual development and deep self study in my Christian walk!! This is an awesome (and the title does not lie) & very READABLE work. Meaning (for me) an extremely relatable but at same time...easy read. Systematic Theology for my soul and reflection. I DO NOT care for online books if I can avoid it so I actually decided to purchase the hard copy of the Late Dr. Boice work. I’ve only made it as far as the ‘Unknown GOD’ but this is SO engaging and encourages a thought provoking , self evaluation Theologically on my proper standing, understanding and the relationship of the Most High GOD, LORD & Savior. AWESOME.
Not true, we have many who faithfully preach God's word today, he mentioned John MacArthur and that he had written a "forward" in John's book "The Gospel According to Jesus". In 2022, we are still blessed by our Lord with great biblical teachers!
