@@PhillwithadoubleL I’ve tried to niche down to collecting just lenticular covers as my main collection. They are harder to fine in the wild which makes the day more enjoyable.

Honestly, I was going to get memory expansion for the kids Xbox so I had space to download the new Indiana jones game. The memory card was £6 more expansive pre owned in CEX compared to brand new from Amazon. 🤷🏼♂️ I refuse to be taken for a mug with the pricing. I’d rather do a little research and get the best pricing I can.
Knowing me I’ll always go for the store credit as I have always done in the past a few times here and there back when there was FYE store at the mall not far from me where there was a big selection of music and movies. Like you, I would get something with the credit I have or just save for a rainy day, that my take on it.

Did you get them to close the store for you? Many TH-camrs I know can't even film the racks there's so many people queuing, let alone filming from a distance without anyone in or crossing shot! Great video though given I really need to do this... *Attack on Titan* is about to get a matching steelbook release for all seasons (shame I can't justify upgrading just for the case, even though I'm a steelbook fan... especially with SO many big titles being released in the next couple of months!)
@@kermitsghost CEX is just so much quicker and easier than eBay. I’ve had things sat around for weeks sometimes… also, if they just aren’t worth much I’d just rather do CEX and save the time of listing and packaging items
Credit makes sense in these scenarios but particuarly these days you have to worry if the store will go bust as nothing is safe in retail, our local HMV closed the other day.

Credit is definitely the better option if there’s things you want or willing to just hold the credit until there is something. I’m prepared to wait… and I’m sure my kids will soon find a game or something they want if the credit is lingering around unused.
@@PhillwithadoubleL No need to worry HMV arent going bust, i emailed them and they said my store closed due to 'local economic conditions' making it unfeasable to have the store remain. Sucks though as a film fan when one of your favorite shops closes :(
@@SecretOfMonkeyIsland784 it especially sucks when the high street is already so limited with physical media outlets. The supermarkets around me are terrible for any type of movies… mainly HMV / CEX or Fopp within a decent location

@@PhillwithadoubleL They're opening more than they're closing but they go by individual store and what the ground rent etc is each year I think... they could easily close one but reopen _relatively_ near if they find cheaper premises that means they won't run at a loss, but some areas just go downhill as the local councils jack up rents greedily... so shops go bust... so nobody goes to the area to provide footfall... so councils jack up rents to make up for the shops that have left and aren't paying them any more etc. They have to realise this is no longer the 80s when High Street was destination shopping. Now so many use online they have to lower expectations rather than chasing the same figures they used to get and ruining a whole area that crumbles away without mass footfall (rant over)
Out of Sight what a great movie doesn’t get the credit it deserves 👌👌👌. Great vlog intend to go for credit in cex as the cash value isn’t as appealing to me. Blu ray amarays all but new releases tend to drop off a cliff after a few months

I can’t believe how underlooked Out of Sight seems to have become over time. To be honest, there’s a few from that period I have fond memories of that just don’t get mentioned much anymore
The pricing for Blu Rays and 4Ks is bizarre in CeX sometimes. I managed to pickup the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy on 4K today for £10! It was labelled up as regular Blu Ray and I didn’t think they would honour it, but needless to say I was well chuffed 😅

Hi Phil I am not familiar with CEX as they are not Here in Melbourne Australia Just curious if CEX rejects some titles eg Already have to many of that Title as this is what I am finding with a second hand Retailer I have been going to over recent years now. Regards Trevor
@@trevormaurer3684 hey Trevor, I’ve never known CEX reject a title, I think when they start to get surplus amounts they will adjust the cash or credit value accordingly. I’ve known them offer as little as a penny for some titles. They are however generally pretty sharp on checking the discs are scratched and in good shape… cases they’re not too fussy on but the discs they’ll always check well. (Usually)

Just didn’t feel like I needed to keep hold of it at this time. Trying to clear some of the things I likely won’t rewatch. Unfortunately, this set was one of them.
Martyrs is very good but I wouldn't rewatch it cuz it's aslo very disgusting 😂 And 50 Shades I watched accidentally without knowing what it was and I'll never get that time back :( Never seen Almost Famous but it's on my list. Thanks for another nice video!

@@PhillwithadoubleL I suggest that renting idea for *Martyrs* - I've seen a few hardened horror fans saying it's one they won't watch because of the real life 'documentary' footage of real deaths/maimings amongst the faked ones... BBFC have now cleared those bits because it's not 'killed/hurt for the film' but 'real killed/hurt that happned to be on film' but have cut out all the real animal cruelty for the UK release.
