Hey guys! This build turned the whole league around for me and I almost feel like I'm playing 3.14 again. By scaling through gem levels and generic Chaos Damage/Over Time Multi we are able to get over 10 million damage per second when fully ramped and we are so defensive with stacked slows and hinders that all bosses become pretty trivial. Combined with Profane Bloom and the QoL of playing a ranged spell, mapping becomes an absolute joy.

Really love the depth of the guide and min max of the gem setup. I appreciate the amount of time you've spent to really flesh it out! Also, I'm a big fan of TRIPLE dipping with 3 different spells that all benefit eachother, all scaling the same things. So many builds are one or two button builds, but I really like theorycrafting the gems. Reminds me of my RF character from awhile back that used Flame Wall AND Scorching Ray. More interesting buttons to push, the better! If I was playing this build I would sneak in a phase run somewhere as well lol. Any other triple dipping ideas?

Very cool. I don't see many people really doing deep dives on unique builds like this. I'm personally still working on my cobra lash/viper strike dual set up PF. I've about hit a wall with that. Working on another little project, if that implodes too I'll definitely give this a go.
Came back to say I may have unwalled myself thanks to some of the tips in this video actually lol. I couldn't for the life of me craft a decent amulet after 250 aberrants, so I just bought one, what i needed was surprisingly cheap. That + a cheapo "poisons you inflict are now X% faster" watcher's eye made the build a lot stronger.
Am still hilariously squishy, but my dps is a lot better. Amulet had enough int to free me up to maybe get faster poisons on shoes as well. So I've got something to work towards again. Thanks for the inspiration!

Started really late and came across this. Wasn't a believer but hung in there until I got bane. It MELTS....still leveling up but this is so fun and fast. Awesome guide!

I want to play this but I'm really bad at crafting and hitting the right mods without burning through limited currency. I'll keep grinding for more but if I can't get the amount I need, I'll have to abandon the build. Excellent guide.
Stumbled on this after asking myself if Bane was still playable. I really enjoyed this build type a couple of leagues ago, though I scaled curse effect with clusters. This might be a fun league starter once again and glad to see it can still handle all content (and yes the mapping is nice and underrated imho). Overall I like the flexibility of Bane. Agree on the flask changes - after some getting used to it I acually really like the auto use stuff. Detailed explanations for your gear choices and you bring up some interesting takes on things. Thumbs up :) Edit: And one thing I really liked in the video is that you are not assuming everyone will have 10ex by day 1 or 2 in regards to the Staff choices / prices.

Thanks for this video. Playing this build in SSF and I'm not great at crafting so I won't have the perfect gear or jewels but honestly it's already working amazingly well with 5-links even in t16 maps. And my gems aren't level 20 yet either. My first character this league to comfortably clear rare t16s and do the expeditions in them. Thumbs up!

Following ur guide my friend . All i can tell is .. This build is so so Enjoyable to play (even tho Dying ALOT ! :) ) but monster pops are so amazing Dot damage aswell really good. ATM with Unique staff still but it was enough to kill Syrus A8 ;)Still abit questioning what kinda Nike's i should wear for this build... Dont Have -9 Ress helm aswell, but other then that yea.. Absolutely amazing build ! :) Probably going to be next leagues starter for me ;) THANKS ! :)

This was my league starter so much of it was just early league selling decent rares/chaos recipe. Put that quicksilver on used when flask charges reach full. Its nice.
I have been testing something similar, mainly ED/contagion trickster, but I have been thinking next league I want to try Bane occultist like this.
Playing SSF, I am a bit limited, but managed to get atziri's reflection and Coward's legacy, alongside a hungry loop that has an effective 5L ED. This could potentially allow me to get a 4 or 6 link Bane or Blight, or wither totems, but I just can't help but think I could be trading tankiness for a good amount of damage if I was occultist.
I also ran artic armour for ages until I could craft 100% avoid elemental ailments.
Have you actually tried enfeeble? I can just imagine with all the wither stacks, temp chains is overkill
Also, I have been playing with a Overflowing Chalice flask that basically let's me piano, and since I am playing CI and have avoid elemental ailments, all my flasks have damage mods, except for one remove bleeding mod

The damage feels great, but I never feel good going an acro/phase acro build. I feel like it's so hard to mitigate the hits I do take, it's never bosses killing me, just packs of mobs that are either sped up or have fast projectiles. Any advice for helping to shore up other defenses? Block, armor, and ES all get negative from acrobatics, what's the best to use to help keep from getting one shot when a hit lands?
rewatching this video and realizing you said your last build you fell in love with was ele hit - mine was too and I'm realizing I might have the same taste in build as you... :)
Hey just letting you know, in the notes for your PoB you have a recipe for +1 chaos gems wands/daggers/scepters written as weapon+two or more gems with a chaos tag. The correct recipe is weapon + any amount of gems with Chaos tags with quality that adds up to 40% so for example both 2x 20% gem or 10x 4% one would work.
Hey. Amazing build. I love curse stacking. I got a question though. Cane of unraveling is really hard to color with 2x green and at the start of the league you dont really have that many chromes or currency or time to spend on trading for it. What would be a good alternative before you color and link your Cane properly?
You can use additional blues to start off with, Arcane Surge and Efficacy do just fine to slot in initially.

Hey, great video I'm working on crafting this build right now but I can't find any +3 fractured staves at the moment, can I get away with using the unique staff 6L until I can snag a fractured base, or should I go with a +2 fractured base staff?
+2 will do you very comfortably. I'm already seeing folks snap the current ones out of the market so I'd set up a longer term price search and work on the other gear first, it all contributes in its own way.

played the same build in ssfhc expedition i was arround rank 7 in ladder i remember ppl starting texting me how to i get that dmg and ask for help lol
i was still running a 5link Stave with blocknotes in the left side of tree.
+1 proj gems in helmet for single target didnt even have real endgame gear but cleared 99% of maps easily also did red katarina :)
Temp Chains feels lovely on bane and made me do redmaps with nearly 6k hp easily.
This is a insanely good Starter since it deals alot of % life dmg from enemy mobs and will be melting anything instantly beside bosses.
So Scourge should be easy clears with this.

Awesome guide! I've been wondering and can't seem to confirm for sure: Do curses in Bane gain doom? Does Bane itself gain doom? Wondering if the Hex Master points would be good for the build. Also, any reason why you don't do LL or CI?
Good questions! Unfortunately no there is no interaction between Doom and Bane.
To make LL truly work I think you need to invest too many resources into it to really get value out of it. While you get a 30% damage multiplier from Pain Attunement, the other investment that you're putting into it to even get an acceptable amount of ES is going to take too much away from other aspects of this build. The one exception for me is if you can get a crazy double corrupted Shavs with +2/+2 gems.
Similarly, I think CI is a pretty big mistake for the vast majority of builds these days. Especially considering that we get 60% chaos res for free as an Occultist and 76% max res from Method to the Madness the benefits of CI for this build are very minimal. CI works well for a very few specific builds these days but generally I find it a trap for folks that just want to play something different.

Great build! realy greate) but... why don't you use the evil eye node on cluster?
We actually have so much curse effectiveness and increased damage taken at this point that it's just a drop in the bucket. I double checked in pob and the increased damage over time from the other notables ends up working out much better. If you really want the blind for defense that's viable but it's a my moderate damage loss.

Im wondering what the aisling slam on the staff gave. You briefly mention the slam, but cant really see your reasoning for the slam.
Will you update the guide for 3.16? How about an ES version?
The purpose is, in the case of having an open prefix, unveiling one of her "increased spell damage" mods to get the last prefix. However, if you hit it from the fossils you're good to go and don't need to do it.
Going harder on ES is ok but I think it's less bang for your buck than life. Also I firmly believe that, at time of video, CI is just a weaker version. Occultist gets 60% chaos res for free and we have 76% chaos res so there's close to zero benefit.

I've done a T16 100% Deli maps with it. It's not going to compete with crazy bow builds for that but it is possible.
your idea on making it LL with random swapable setup (2x obliterations + CoH ring and mb ash herald) for some insane legion pops ? Now after dodge is dead ES and buffed wicked ward/block might be rly good

I'm trying out the build and I have a question regarding the curse limit, in the bane setup you use 3 curses, isn't the character currently limited to 2 curses applied tho? (1 base +1 from Malediction)

Super curious on how did you change your pointer. It really stands out. This is a probably for me even with the pointers ggg sells.
It's all in the game! This patch they allow you to change size and color of the default free High Contrast cursor.

Seeing builds similar to this. Does the tree have hidden branches? Im not seeing some of these sections of the tree and im up to date 3.16 and have seen other builds similar in this version but stilt missing sections of the tree

You repeatedly reference the Asling Slam without referencing what that means. Might just include that so newbs understand what you're talking about. Excellent video. I was already thinking this was my next build, and I'm now sold.

@@subtractem I think just once in explaination, you reference it 3 or 4 times, and it might me someone's first time seeing your video. Since your builds are pretty approachable/reasonable, I could see a newish player wanting to give this one a go if they've built up some currency.

With the Staff, you can also craft can have up to 3 crafted modifiers as well as prefixes cannot be changed after rolling decent chaos dot multi and then t4 aisling 66% for another veiled mod;)
As far as I know it is impossible to get more than one veiled modifier on an item now unfortunately. It was changed this patch.

For the helmet getting the bonus effect of curses is almost impossible on console any other replacement you'd recommend
You can get any curse effect (despair or punishment) or even bane damage or aoe. They're all really good!
This is my go-to league starter as it can do all bosses on a budget. I'm impressed with how far you have pushed this, the staff in particular is very naughty!

One question.....how can I craft the "+3 to level of all chaos skill gems" fracture node?....Or is there any way to target farm it?
It's a very rare craft from Harvest. The most likely way to do it is buy the craft from another player. Cheers!
Would you prefer Bane as it is or with the curse tag and a damage nerf since it would then also scale with curse effect?
Playing Death's Oath, Bane and Soulrend but this has some nice ideas I can use to improve my own build.
ED has a nice duration and leeches life but I don't like the slow projectile speed so went for Soulrend. Since the dot doesn't last long I spam it more and don't use blight.
I like how bane is, with the curse tag I think it made it too hard for ggg to balance and gets it in their sights for bit blanket nerfs.
The issue with soulrend is its base duration is only 0.6 seconds so it's difficult to use it as an asynchronous dot. My ED lasts 5 seconds which let's me cast it and dodge big boss mechanics for a long time. For regular map bosses you can do whatever you like though. :)
I think I missed the part about stun immunity.
What mechanic or skill do you use for that topic?
I use soul of the brine king with the upgrades so stun isn't a huge concern. Cheers!

I really like your build, but i'm questioning my self on how i can enhance the survivability without switching to low life. Presently the dmg is excellent but i'm getting kill by some mechanic . Any suggestion ? My steelskin is lvl 18 , and i'm using artic armor
If you really need for life what I would recommend is removing a couple of the smaller points (maybe drop a medium cluster jewel and slotting in 2 small life clusters with Surging Vitality. Each one of these will provide 12% total increased life and give you a crazy amount of regen. This should hopefully push you pretty close to 5k life and make things much more comfortable. Cheers!
Is this SSF friendly?
Is it enough dmg without All the different kind of exalted types, redeemer orbs etc ?
If i just rock the unique staff, you showed and some decent good yellow items with some dmg mods ?
Very safe friendly up until red maps. Then you'll have to put some work into upgrading, but that's the story of SSF in general. It won't kill the feared with no investment but it has a smooth upgrade path and it's something you could spend the whole league improving and working on. Cheers!

We will have to wait until the patch notes to really know. I feel like hybrid with ghost shrouds is on the table.

I'd probably drop Void Manipulation if you're just on a 5L.

Leveling this build now. Completely understand that it's listed as a "bossing build", but I'm finding the "clear" a bit lacking. i.e. I having to cast bane quite often as the AoE seems small, and the "pops" from Profane Bloom (which I took as my first ascendancy to help with this) doesn't seem to kill any stragglers. I'm using a 6 link bane as well (Dying Breath iron staff at only 20c). Does the AoE pick up later it the build or is that just the way it is - it really is basically best for bossing and not great on clear/mapping?
I find the clear pretty amazing but you do need to get your aoe up a bit for it to feel that good. Feel free to hop in chat on the stream any time if you need help.
If dmg is there, would spell cascade (or what was that) be an option for major aoe. Awakened should cover whole screen
Would this make a good league starter for 3.16? I know passtive skill tree isn't out yet, but from the patch notes it seems like there weren't any nerfs.

1! 6L Cane of unraveling is 50c, with just stat gear and a cane you can do yellow maps easily. Cluster jewels next then work on each piece.

What are the best alt quality gem choices for this build
Divergent Bane is pretty fun, you get more explodey.
Anomalous Essence Drain is nice for getting more leech and defense.
Divergent Blight is quite nice for more hinder duration.
That said, I don't use any of them. What I like to do is just peruse the wiki and click the different qualities on the right side and see what they are: pathofexile.fandom.com/wiki/Blight
There's lots of little fun alternate quality gems you can sneak into the build like Anomalous Efficacy Support for duration versus pure damage but that's all personal preference so you can customize it for your own playstyle, which I think is super cool!
Does Vaal Blight benefit from Infused Channeling? Only reason I ask is because in the portrait, it only shows two supports.
Regular blight does just fine :) just not vaal blight.

Hi there! Sorry I can't really understand from your question. I would look at your auras and make sure they're all active, also that your gear is active and isn't red due to some attribute requirements.

Hey, so I was wondering, you said you used about 50c worth of fossils to hit the 2 to all spell skill gems but I cannot figure out what fossils to use exactly. Any reasonable combination I can think about in craftofexile gives me 1500-2000 chaos on average. Can you please explain, thanks in advance.
Metallic + Shuddering + Corroded. It's all in the spreadsheet linked above :) CoE will give you an average of around 150c I believe, I hit it early on. You can use the fossil optimiser in CoE to give you the correct combination.

@@denislyubenov2205 It would work but you wouldn't get a ton of value out of it. I'd really rather just use a good stygian for tons of stats.
Any smart ways to increase movement speed on this build? Really enjoying it but I'm a speed obsessed..
I have frenzy charges on my ring and just tonight I crafted synth boots that have 8% move speed implicit. If you get permanent onslaught anywhere you'll be cruising.

@subtractem another noob question....If I fosil the +2 to all skills but with realy low spell damage, how can I increase the spell damage?
Unfortunately the best option is probably Aisling slam and hope she removes the spell damage and gives you a better one. Cheers!
