As a 30yr old man that has never met his father before. Hell I dont even know his name. Hearing Unc talk about his kids and how he is there for them and how he helps guide them is beautiful. A lot of parents that are wealthy just give the kids whatever they want. Unc seems like the type of father that teaches them kids how to make it themselves.

The world does not care and will tell them no. I lost a friend10 years ago cahse they coukd not handle NO. Did nkt know how to survive once they were out of school and deleted themselves. This is reality. Another friend of mine is doing 10 years. He came from money made a dumb decision. Did not hold himself accountable. Parents never held hin accountable. I spent over 100k to get joint custody cleaned my little bank account and 401k out. I still have to pay $1900 in child support and get my kids 13 days a month. The judge got mad at me in court only because I didn’t give her money the 9months she kept them away from me. He made me pay her $4700 lawyer fees and I still had to pay arrears. All that to say if a man wants to be in his kids life why is it that we have to go broke to be there. I understand child support but lawyers and court fees are crazy.

Sorry to hear this. The family court system is a joke. I went through so much trying to get full custody of my oldest when he was a child. He was living in an abusive home and the courts still ruled against me because they refused to remove him from the care of his mother. I did the best I could from my end with him but it was extremely toxic on his mom side. He grew up with a whole lot of rage and bitterness towards his mother. And just angry in general. Unfortunately this rage has landed him in prison for a lengthy murder sentence. This has ripped my heart out.

BUT when thwy get old enough tht mom and dad an hold their hand or save them.frm everything cause the world really dnt care like tht thats whn u may see. U dnt have to be as strict but its about balance. I knw some ppl tht have kids and let them do whatever and the kid disrespect the f out them.and they wonder why. I have friends tht ddnt have strict parents they thought the world was the same as they home and they could get wht they wanted whn they want then reality hit them in the face. Now they in jail cause thwy thought mom and dad got me and im good so they made a bad deciaion tht cost them. And the judge wanted to make an example cause they came frm money. Another person i knw ddnt knw how to take No cause they neevr heard it before. Whn we got out of highschoolThey got depressed ddnt knw how to survive and deleted them self. The part that I didnt think was going to be mentioned, and I am glad it was, Ocho mentioned how parents will look to antagonize their children. Parents, especially parents of African descent, love to mention how their child should respect them but rarely do they mention that that is a two way street. You have to give respect in order to receive it, even as a parent. Parents should not antagonize their children and shame on you as a parent if you are doing so. This discussion needs to be had more.

My ex-wife often tells me to stop sacrificing my resources to take care of their grown butts. I'm a softy but I'm trying to improve. I gave my children the best suburban schools for an education, I paid for all their needs, they grew up in a mini mansion in the suburbs, I gave them all the tools to succeed in life. My ex-wife has the right perspective on this, so I'm working to do better. I have 2 great kids who are smart, so my new resolution is to let them handle their business. Great video.
