    I'm very jealous of your rain, Squirrel. I live in north-western Georgia, and we haven't had a drop for close to three months.

      Loremaster Yn'Taris I'm From Wales and I've never been to the US, I've Gotta ask...
      Do you prefer British/European Trains or American Trains?
      out trains are faster and better looking but your trains are larger and longer?

    • @NoobsofFredo
      @NoobsofFredo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      #NiCk Bigger and longer? Count me in!
      In all seriousness, when it comes to trains, it depends on what I want to do. If I'm trying to travel from point A to point B, I'd prefer a European train. If I want to move a bunch of stuff from point A to point B, I'd rather have an American train.

    If you look on the HUD you'll see the TSR warning for the upcoming 15mph limit, TSR is a Temporary Speed Restriction enforced to ensure the safety of the track side workers. Nicely done with the GLOD :p

    Rubbish weather but the tree made it interesting. Just hard to see any of the scenery with the rain. Still a good video.

    bridge is called 'welwyn viaduct,' and is located just north of welwyn garden city, the station after the viaduct is welwyn north, the area in which the viaduct is located is known as digswell.
    (there is a story that when opened the queen refused to travel over the viaduct and took horse and carriage for that section).
    i used to play for welwyn pegasus football club, the pitch was as the foot of the viaduct, quite a cool place to play.
    the southern section of the viaduct runs over a nature reserve.
    the station before stevenage you did not know is knebworth.

    The train viaduct is on the outskirts of Welwyn Garden City, ( in the nice bit) and i am amazed at the accuracy of the line, its my local commuter route and the fast train does normally catch the commuter train at around Hatfield / Welwyn.

    The bridge is known as Digswell Viaduct that lies between Welwyn and Welwyn Garden City. It is a bottleneck as 4 tracks merge into 2.

    hate to be so technical, but at 2:54 the engine is at the northern end of all IC225s (indicated by pantograph); a driving van trailer (DVT) is on the London end of the train ;)
    Brilliant video as always though

  • @AshHill07
    @AshHill07 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Speed Set system does use the rheostatic brakes on both the Class 90 & 91. In fact you can see it working in the video in the brief seconds between you telling it to slow down and then turning it all the way to off.

    "In the UK, if a chair gets blown over in your garden, you might as well had a hurricane." Is it really like that across the pond? The start of the week in the South saw winds at the thirty mph mark, and even tornadoes in some places.

    A TSR is a temporary speed restriction. The yellow 15 sign temporarily clipped to the underside of the rail because of the tree on the line.

    TSR mean's Temporary Speed Restriction. It is used where Engineers have encountered a minor issue or track defect.
    ESR mean's Emergency Speed Restriction which is used when a major issue has been discovered that could endanger life or property...

    • @capnskiddies
      @capnskiddies 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A temporary speed restriction is one that has been published in the weekly notice, for example a recently relayed section that has not been welded. An emergency speed restriction is one imposed without prior notice, for example a cracked rail discovered on patrol.

  • @Terrahawk_

    No need to guess about track changes you've got route indicators on the signals (three harbour lights above the signal). TSR might be temporary speed restrictions.

  • @Nossieuk
    @Nossieuk 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your ETA is calculated from your current speed, so just pulling out the station at 10mph as an example it would calculate that to destination - so when you checked it again going faster the ETA was lower.

    Oh cool. Class 91 is awesome. I don't have Class 91 pack yet, but I don't need to buy the InterCity Class 91 pack as a standalone. I should only buy the CreativeRail ECML: Peterborough To York route from Steam with a free RSC InterCity Swallow Class 91, a free RSC EWS Class 66 V2.0, a free S9BL Class 158 pack and the free KUJU European Loco And Asset Pack. My journey idea is just go from London Kings Cross to York. Going from Kings Cross to Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow Central takes longer than 3 hours on the entire journey. York and Darlington is my only final stops on East Coast Main Line. InterCity is the earliest, but the LNER (Ex VTEC) Class 91 is the latest. It's not easy to get all 1,000 XP on high difficulty.
