Myteam...... is gambling and I refuse to expose my 9 year old son to this practice. It is insane, NOBODY at 2k thinks about the kids, only money.
As a mainly MyTeam player, I feel this. They also took out the only non-gambling part of the mode.. The Auction House. That was the final straw for me

I gave up on 2k 4 months ago.
1) you have to pay for builds.
2) no matter how you set the defense the cpu will always leave their assignments.
3) 2k have gotten too money hungry.
4) I already broke 2 ps5 controllers by playing this game.
This game has been deleted out of my system and in the trash. My wife was shocked when I cracked it in half and tossed it in the trash can.

@@joshsanders2820 😂😂 I broke them. I love to run zone Defense. Each player that you are not controlling will automatically run to the paint. I click on them to bring them back to their assignments and the player I clicked off will then run to the paint. The game sucks

I’m old enough to remember 2k14…the first year of park. It was so simple yet beautiful. You could get to a 95 ovr for $19.99. You could buy badge upgrades and animations immediately. The park was a normal park, no Ads or city bs. It was all about hoops

I stopped playing in NBA 2k18. The cost of build and grind was terrible and I was always forced to stay online to play it. I miss all 2ks before 2k18.
Now you can grind a build to 99 real easy so it’s even more of a money grab because they want you to spend more money on vc for another bill

i’m not even a 2K hater, i never make dramatic statements like “this is the worst 2K” or “im not buying another 2K” but honestly the game is just boring to me at this point. I haven’t played MyCareer or online since whenever season 3 started. there’s just way funner games out rn and sadly 2k may never change unless someone actually creates another basketball game.

I was done after 19. And honestly my bank account and time for real life & relationships have dramatically increased. That game keeps you in the house & broke. My 10K Subscriber TH-cam channel died but it was worth it.
its so sad man, 2k16 and 17 were so fun, the gameplay, the community, the culture was so much healthier back then. Content creation was peak with guys like agent, low, solluminati, Orlando, Fredo etc... shame we took it for granted back then
The thing is I spent more money on those games because I enjoyed playing it. 16 and 17 were great...18 fell off then 19 was decent again. After 19 I haven't enjoyed any of them.

i only brought 2k24 because it was on sale for 20$ a month ago and i manged to grind no money spent a popper build to 88ovr but then i brought 75k vc for 18£ to get to 95ovr and had vc left over and only reason i done that is altogether that cost me 38£ still cheaper than the base game on release but this is definitely my last year. BUT because its the only basketball game basically these boycotts are going to have to be soooooo drastic because no streamer or influencer is going to ruin their pay check for some casuals trying to just play game. gaming casually and getting some where in said game is very rare now.
2k has a win/win formula. U can't beat it. Even if you spent zero money, time is money, so you'd invest a much of time building up a scrub player for boring hours upon hours while 2k is endlessly bombarding u with ads, which they get ad revenue for.

I'm on my second playthrough of cyberpunk and the game is actually better the second time. The way you build you character makes is a totally different experience.. cyberpunk has a great community on YT..You could build from there.
The issue with 2K isn't it's poor quality, or even it's predatory business model, it's the fact that it has slipped into irrelevance. If they had pulled what they are doing now a few years ago it would be news that stretched into the mainstream. Now it's just crickets. That is the true sign of a dead game... When apathy replaces outrage.

I remember builds used to be $20-50 that’s how much I spent for my 2k20 and 21 build now 1 build cost $200-300 I haven’t spent money on 2k since 2k23. Game is expensive and real boring, even clothes in game expensive $20-30 just to wear 1 shirt

Decided to give 2k another shot this year since being garbage the last few years. I’m mainly a Myteam player, and how money hungry they’ve gotten is absurd. Got to pay for a $20 season pass just to get a “free player” and don’t get me started on the packs. And it amuses me how they took away the auction house and added the player market, which they set the prices for all these players (usually $20 per player)
Did same thing. Uninstalled the game console and mobile. Everyone moved on this is the day we do too.

Whenever i play a 2k game I usually stay away from myteam and never paid money to upgrade my player. It doesn't matter right now how many people boycott it. 2k can sell it at 10 dollars and still make hand over fist from people that spend hundreds or thousands of dollars for vc.

On the topic, 2k18 was my last 2k. I can admit I had alot of fun, but mostly because I was watching alot of fun 2k content around that time (Agent, Cash, Prettyboyfredo, YRNDJ, Solluminati and Lsk.) Monster hunter FINALLY blew up and now its getting the content coverage its always deserved, so I just play that primarily alongside Fromsoft games and then Street fighter and Tekken. I do miss 2k, but I just have to sink so much time into the game before I can have fun, I kinda missed the grinding/badge system from 2k17, using Justice as a means to get badges that were previously difficult or sometimes impossible was fun. I wish the best for u man, I used to watch you a good bit, I just dont really play 2k at all anymore, but id be lying if I said I aint miss the 2k15-17 days frfr.

I've honestly feel out of love with the Rec/City. The city is too huge for 0 reason. The "affiliations" literally have 0 reason to be in the game. Back in 2k15-17 when we had rival day it was 🔥. The rep and season rep is stupid. Cost more than 50$ to make a build. The game is ridiculous. I've been having more fun on Play Now recently than I have been in the rec.

I skipped out on 21 && 22 hoping the quality would increase especially going to a new console generation. I was very disappointed it was the same thing. I play 24 semi consistently but I refuse to buy another title ever again

I used to play 2k. My favorite ones were 2k10, 2k11, and 2k19. I didn't buy 2k22. I bought 2k23 sucked i didn't buy 2k24 and am glad i didn't. One of my friends kept trying to get me to buy 2k24 and i didn't. Funniest part of all, he would say game is good, its great, and then 5 minutes later would be cussing at the game lol

Congrats to standing on something. I was a fairly decent my career play. Winning around 85% of my games in park rec and pro-am. I refuse to pay 100 dollars for a build when the game cost $60-75. That’s insane to me. I’m mainly a NMs myteam player. It’s bad there as well.

I was done with 2k around 2k14. About when they went nextgen was the same time they turned vc into a commodity mtx. Back then you just grinded practice for vc.
I remember enjoying MyCareer and playing through grinding for VC and having fun playing it. When they made it the incentive to pay for VC more prominent, I started to lose interest, especially on how much I had to spend to upgrade my builds. I miss the days of plaing MyCareer and grinding out for VC and other means. It was fun for me. I understand that a lot of players don't want to do that but I enjoyed it and I wish they wouldn't have made the game more incentivized to pay money to get VC. The state it's going now really makes me not want to play. The new agreement is very anti-consumer and I can't keep doing it. I am at fault for playing it, even though I didn't buy VC like that aknist at all. Hopefully, things can get better with 2k but that would be false hope. I just hope others are aware and make the change for the better.
It's so many things like cod these big companies do as well as 2k that just screams anti-consumer, when they added a "battlepass" for 2k I felt so dumb for pre ordering and then with the expensive build system and what took the cake for me was the badge retention system just was wild to me. A lot of these games we grew to love are starting to become the enemy by this time I think it is time to find other enjoyable games to play. I definitely will give Helldivers 2 a try soon.
I agree with every word you said. I don't play MyCareer; instead, I play only MyTeam. When they announced the removal of the auction house and its replacement with the player market this year, I was skeptical. Now, it's clear they lied to us about all players being available for purchase on the market. Despite having 4 million MT, I can't buy a single Galaxy Opal. In Season 5, the game transformed into MyCasino, where Galaxy Opals and 100 Overall players are only obtainable through packs with extremely aggressive gambling mechanics. Naturally, I can't endorse gambling, and I've never spent a single cent on the mode, only 70 euros for the game itself. However, I want to express gratitude to 2K because now I've shifted my focus to playing other games. As you mentioned, there are plenty of excellent games available. I'll be eagerly awaiting Elden Ring DLC alongside you. I can't wait.

It's good to hear. If the game goes free to play. I too, would play 2k, again. But, as it is currently, I'm done. It cost WAY too much to actually enjoy an online multiplayer experience. Too much TIME, and too much MONEY. I knew this was coming. I could tell you were getting burnt out, regurgitating the same thing. But, the sad reality is. 2K has its community that's willing to spend. You don't spend, you will get clowned for NOT spending. I have been stopped playing 2K seriously, since 2K20, maybe 2K19. I don't knock anyone that enjoys playing the game and willing to spend. But, it's JUST NOT FOR ME.
Many people won't know about a PC Basketball game called Freestyle/2. The game died because of how expensive it got, and they rebranded themselves to 3v3 Freestyle. Gamers want to have fun and game.

The last NBA 2K game I ever bought was 20. I never looked back. I never was tempted again or felt the need to play an NBA game. Funnily enough, it also is the reason I no longer watch the NBA entirely at least when its not the playoffs yet.
