People complain about Kirby games being easy and all but they forget one thing: Kirby is supposed to be overpowered! The fact that guys like Dedede can put up a decent fight against him is just a tribute to how strong they are. Respect the KING.
To be fair, Kirby is probably one of the *strongest* characters in Nintendo's games. Heck, he is technically considered to be an incarnation of an actual God in his lore and yet is supposed to only be 8 inches tall.

After unlocking Masked Hammer+, I completely understand why Dedede chooses the hammer as his weapon to charge into battle. It’s unyielding strength, unending striking speed, and insurmountable defense makes it the symbol of a mighty monarch.
Dedede, king of Dreamland, does not waver. And neither shall his armament.
I really like how Hammer starting from Super Star has been THE broken ability of the series

I’m so glad they brought this back for Return to Dreamland DX. Makes HR-D3 even more memorable than it already was
Love that of all the Dedede themes, this version actually sounds kingly. He's come so far from that pretender ruler.
This theme adds more appreciation when it's used for HR-D3's Phase 3 fight as a reference to the cancelled Kirby GCN project.
It's funny how a boss for a game that was never meant to be, finds its way into another game, finally giving it the chance to be fought!
Dedede now wants Kirby dededead.
They gave this theme to HR-D3 in Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

Y'know, I used to think a slower-paced Dedede theme wouldn't work. But this series managed to prove me wrong yet again. UPDATE: Was anyone else caught off-gaurd in a very good way when this played in the 2nd half of the HR-D3 battle in RTDLDX?
Personally, it's a bit too slow on its own. But it's on the right track. Put it at 1.20-1.25 speed, however, and then that's when it's sheer perfection. That is the theme of When Kirby's Royal Nemesis goes berserk, and it is awesome. It actually rivals Masked Dedede in terms of epicness and intensity and Forgo Dedede is already a pretty awesome rendition of that, no speed adjustments required.
@@kinghyperheart1571 Eh, nah. The slower speeds makes the impact of each beats end significantly more climatic than if it was faster. Seriously, do you hear the well-timed Roars of Dedede?
@@consideratebulbproductions4277 I do hear them, and they are a very nice touch, hence the name of the tune.
However, I think for the boss battle, the tempo is just a bit too slow for my liking. I think beats are still powerful at a faster tempo. I think a bit more speed fits Dedede a bit better. He may be big and you'd think he's slow, but he's surprisingly quick, so a theme with a speed that kind of reflects the sometimes more frantic nature of his boss battles works to his advantage.
Again this is just me and personal preference. And before you say I don't appreciate slower tunes like I'm uncultured, I do, there are some tunes that work well at lower tempos, some I actually like at a slower pace then at normal tempo. I like to play with tempo, and sometimes just changing the speed evokes stronger feelings in me.
That said, I feel a bit stronger about this tune at a faster pace then I do normally. We all enjoy music differently, and some tracks I don't like at normal speed so I say live and let live and let others play around with music a bit. Hell, I'll compromise a bit, I'm listening at 1.15, a bit slower, but still a nice speed up over the original.
@@kinghyperheart1571 Although I do agree that a fast temp generally works well with Dedede, considering the in-game context, I think this variation of Dedede is an exception: a particularly more primitive king who utilizes merits of brute force to gain his way. After all, it's technically not the Dedede we know of- even in Triple Deluxe and Star Allies, he had a consistent build of body and clothing( besides the mask and muscles, of course ).
Even with those notable reasons to why the theme sound that way, I still generally love the theme, even moreso than others just for the tempo being slower and Dedede's theme being adjusted around it. While Masked Dedede might be quick with its beats, it doesn't have the "oomph" to it like this theme- and this is being composed by one of Kirby's newest composers!
Thankfully, Masked and Wild D.D.D already presents the fast pace that we all know and love- at an appropriate moment, too, with some wild reworkings!

I just imagine this theme over King Dedede, being defeated by kirby again, he looks in the mirror and is like, no more playing around. Cue the most intense training montage of dedede absolutely crushing it in the gym.

You know a theme is good, *WHEN THE CHARACTER WHO OWNS IT "SINGS" PART OF THE MELODY!* Shinya Kumazaki really knows how to make Dedede sound fierce yet goofy at the same time in this series.
That said, I like how wholesome and badass Dedede is after the second fight. He's really come a long way from being the greedy, selfish King we saw back in Kirby's Dream Land/Spring Breeze. Rest up well Your Majesty, you deserve it after the hell ID-F86 and the Beast Pack put you through.
This was so good that it won Best Family Game at the 2022 Game Awards! Remember that.

Honestly such a grand choice choosing Roar of Dedede for Deluxe HR-D3. Not only is it just a badass song, but it's a nice Easter Egg to the Kirby fans who remember the cancelled Kirby GCN game where HR-D3 was gonna be piloted by Dedede instead of Metal General, hence the D3. HAL really lets us know they remember the cancelled project that made a masterpiece of a Kirby game.
Plus considering the current Dedede design is often most compared to 64 Dedede's design, and HR is a naming group of a 64 boss, this makes it a 2-for-1 special.

After a li’l over 3 months of playing Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe, whenever I here this play it reminds me of the HR-D3 boss fight and it’s actually one my favorite boss fights in the whole game! I’m VERY glad they used this instead of Landia’s Theme for the second phase of his boss fight.

It's both a slappin both theme, but it's also remixed from Kirby Star Allies, Dedede's Royal Rumble
I think it's just added the Star Allies motif, similar to how more modern Dedede themes added the Super Star motif.
