Do you have a recommendation on what microphone to go with the handle? I just got my fx30 with the handle, and since it is my first vidcam I am a bit lost! 😅
Great video thanks. I'm moving from the XLR-K3M to this just because of the handle part. But i did notice this doesn't have the digital/analog switch at the back where the input select switch is. and when the H1 is plugged in, I no longer get the digital notification on my camera. so does this mean that the H1 is only an analog audio signal?
Nice video. Is there a way to combine both Input 1 & Input 2 audio if using 2 separate mic's? When Input Select is set to IN1+IN2, input 1 only has audio on the left channel and input 2 only has audio on the right channel. If Input Select is set to IN1, input 1 plays on both left and right channels, but input 2 has no audio.
Hi Adam, question on choosing the INPUT when I watch your clip at around 4:00 timeframe. I record live concert events with the stereo mic (Audio-Technica AT 8022), recorded on-air plugged to 3.5mm on a Canon camcorder. This mic is powered by a single AA battery. I love this mic. It can be converted to XLR. I'm quitting my old camcorder and upgrading to either FX30 or FX3. I still want to use this mic. What INPUT should I choose ? LINE, MIC or MIC+48 ? Love your watching your clips. Thank you for what you do!
Quick Question, do you know what settings I need so I can hear Channel 1 and 2 when Im using 2 Sennheiser mics on a Sony FX-3? I can only hear whats coming into channell 1 withmy headphones while recording. Thanks and great video!
Check your headphone output settings on the camera and I think there's a spot you can adjust which channels. it may always do 1 to left and 2 to right though
hello. Thanks for the video. Im using a shotgun mic and i put the mic+48v on Input 1. But for my rode wireless go, should i put on line, mic or mic+48v? thanks
Ive noticed my camera battery drains way faster when using the audio top handle. Is there any way to prevent the audio handle from using the camera battery especially since the Sennheiser shotgun mic i use has a battery in it already??
You could turn phantom power off, but I'm not sure how much that would help. I've got a video coming out soon on the Neewer PS099E Battery and Smallrig V Mount Rig that I'v been using lately to help me not have to worry about battery drain.
Man i wish i had watched this video sooner lol thank you for the in depth breakdown !
You are welcome! Better late than never :)
I love that you get 4 channels simultaneously 🥰
One of the best features!
I don't even own a Sony but now I'm a XLR top handle pro. Great video!
Thanks for watching!! They’re pretty useful to have.
This should be standard viewing - great breakdown!!!
Thank you! Very kind of you
Great video, I have been using mine incorrectly for years - so THANKS for the concise, useful video - brilliant!
tnks
Thank you!
You bet!
Thank mate, very useful!
Glad it helped!!

This one is digital only.

You have to do that in post. If you’re on Final Cut change it to 4 mono or dual mono.
The audio module is detachable from the handle itself? Just to use the top handle without the audio in certain situations. Thank you
No it is permanently attached but some people mod it and remove it permanently.
@@adamtalkstech thanks, I’ll keep an eye to these mods
There is another model, xlr-k3m, this one has no handle, just the interface.

It should be +48v but I’m not sure how that works with that breakout cable you were talking about.
@@adamtalkstech 🤩Thank you very much for your response. I'll be trying out. If not working, i'll connect to the 1/8" input 3.
Since its already powered by a battery it should be mic, not 48v
@@fabian3265 Thank you very much for your response🤩 !
Can some1 please explain why my level knob on channel 1 doesnt change the gain, but makes it pan left or right...
Brother Just make Auto!

Can I use Imput 1 and 3 at the same time? When I try it doesn't seem to work.
Nevermind, I think I figured it out!!

I believe the rode is mic level
Since its already after a gain, you should use level. Mic boost the signal but you already do that in your transmitter and and receiver.
