Spectacular!!! Flew in this baby back in 2005 operated by AirTran Airways. It was an incredible experience, especially during takeoff and Approach. Just an awesome Aircraft!
Flew on one back in January 2, 2020 before the pandemic from ATL to PIttsburgh. I always pick a window seat next to the engine love what I call the mini Mad Dog.
I got over my fear of flying on a 717 back in 2005. Took an AirTran flight from Atlanta to Minneapolis to meet a girl. Sat on the plane for 2 hours before we took off, if I remember they had to switch out the co-pilot, not even sure now. Sitting there I realized I had no control and needed to stop anticipating what was next and just go with it.
I did the same exact thing after my 7th flight in two weeks .. on a 717-200 I decided if I don’t make it I don’t .. atleast I lived and got to experience everything I did it will be over fast 💨 even if I don’t. I then finally calmed down and quit panicking!
@@redcomic619 The RR BR715 engines on the 717 are very powerful for the aircraft's size, which allows it to take a steeper angle of climb and get to cruise altitude faster. :)
Hearing these 717’s makes my day, only problem with Atlanta is how busy it is
Yeah,, but that's Atlanta (ATL) for ya! They indeed are the busiest airport in the world! But I love flying in and out of there!
I love listening to the engines startup during push back 😃
I love that part, too! 😊
I do too! That means the show is about to begin!
Flew from this runway in the same plane today. Flying in this little jet made me feel every little movement!
Amazing jet, amazing views!
Look at that climbout too. 717s are so fun to fly on.

Thank you! 😊 It's an incredible aircraft! I unfortunately didn't get to fly on AirTran so this is as close as I got, apart from spotting them.
I'm gonna miss these planes when they are all retired! I love flying on them! They are a gem to me!
Love the sunny views, too. And you're literally right next to an engine LOL! - Red
It's an amazing seat with great views and great sound! 😊
If you want to skip to the takeoff, here: 17:20
Ah yes, there’s no better place to hear that beautiful engine than the back
You are right, it's music to my ears! 😊

Incredible Video! I Love The 717, Especially On Takeoff! First View!
Thank you very much! 😊 The 717 is an amazing aircraft and the engine sound is glorious!
9:24 the smudge on the lower left part of the screen where the engine is looks like a airplane lol
It's the reflection from my shirt, it has those airplanes all over it. 😜

I flew from Houston Hobby To Orlando back in 2009 on the Boeing 717 on AirTran. But before I got to Orlando, I made a first stop here in Atlanta.
Nice! The closest I got to fly on AirTran was flying on this Delta. They had a nice livery!

Great take off video DFW Aviation! You got the best seat in the house there, awesome engine sound!
Regards,
Brendan
Thank you! 😊 It definitely is the best seat on the B717!
I'm from Turkmenistan. Boeing 717 we also have and I love it
What airline operates the B717 there? Greetings all the way to Turkmenistan, thanks for watching my video! 😊
@@dfwaviation2066 Turkmenistan airlines 5 B717
this looks so good! I thought delta 717s were gone!
Thank you! 😊 They will be around for quite some time, they currently have 91 in their fleet.
@@dfwaviation2066 i didn’t even remember commenting this but good job me :D
17:40 Inverter outdoor rich sound
Such an amazing sound!
The Boeing 717 & the Douglas DC-9 have been 2 of the most reliable aircraft in commercial aviation!
They were amazing are were definitely quite a sight and nice to hear.
Awesome F Sharped Pitched Motor!!
I could listen to that sound forever, non-stop.
18:01 looks like IAE V2500 Roaring but not😅
Why do 717s take off at such a sharp angle?
They have the ability and I'm sure it doesn't hinder much with their fuel economies compared to a normal slope.
@@dfwaviation2066 Interesting. I’ve noticed this pattern riding them often on Delta.

A real pocket rocket
Taking one of these to Dallas next month, just seeing what I'm in for😁
They are incredible aircraft! hopefully you can do the flight, or due to the situation is it now on hold?
@@dfwaviation2066 haven't heard yet, I'm going to keep looking at the website
Nice
Thanks!😊
What seat is that
17:28 and 18:30 are the best
A 717?
Yes, an amazing aircraft! 😊
@@dfwaviation2066 Didn't know Delta still flew them. Awesome
If anybody’s wondering what the intro song is it doesn’t have a name. It was made on launchpad for iOS.
It was made with GarageBand on iOS, you're correct.
717- legacy of douglas
The buffeting between the fans is awful during taxi
I actually kind of liked it...
Lol, that intro was from iOS launchpad
😂 I'm now glad that I don't have it, I wonder what I was thinking.
It’s too bad Boeing didn’t stick with these.
