He said, oh, we have to park up for a minute, and I was confused as to why. It was so we could both sing our lungs out to this song. It's one of the only times in his life he ever let his guard down and I treasure the memory. I realised there's a different side to him buried somewhere deep down.

The last is a folk song that is at least 230 years old and widely known in rural areas of Ireland, England, and the United States. Muharam likes music, and I think he would enjoy these. Abdul is a farmer, and I would like to hear how this song compares to folk songs from where he lives. He is thoughtful and I value his observations. I felt so awkward to see Robin at 4:43 and we know now that he was strugling with despression at that time and that this was one of the reasons he took his own life... to me that mitigates the meaning of this song. You are not entitled to tell anyone else to not worry, as if they're problems are irrelevent. Instead, try to be there for this person, just listen to them and see if you can have a good time together.
I love this channel, and this no criticism. It just got me thinking about when people say things like "It's God's will" when trouble comes. So, maybe when you get a flat tire, you can think that. But if it's true of that, it's true of the most atrocious things, and I can't accept that. Maybe you can think that when you get cancer and beat it. Maybe even when you get cancer and don't beat it, you still might think that. However, if someone holds a gun to your head and forces you to watch your 10yo daughter be sexually assaulted to death, how could a person think that? If your neighbor starves and abuses their child all their life, and finally kills their child, how can you think that it was God's will that the child suffer that way? I feel like people who say that have only gone through the normal trials and tribulations of life (which can be very bad, such as death of loved ones, or losing one's home, even). But how can they still say that if they've gone through utterly unnatural traumas that are not a normal course of life? Anyway, back to the video. I love this channel and love hearing the observations of the listeners. Of course the host does a great job in researching the material and presenting it. As for the song itself, I HATED this song when it came out, and now I think it's fun and charming. And it's super admirable that Bobby M. did all the sounds himself. I still can't get over his incredible talent and creativity. I'm not sure I ever saw the music video, since I didn't have cable when this came out. I didn't know Robin Williams was in this! Always love his goofy face.

I think it's metaphorical talking about things like gentrification etc. Because the African American community (and poor/lower class folks in general) have had to continually deal with their homes being taken from them either by being priced out, or because they get chosen for eminent domain projects etc. In that case there isn't any one person who took your things from you, and worrying won't help. In fact worrying can waste your energy and make you more apathetic. What they need to do instead is come together to make good change. That said, I have absolutely seen this song used for that toxic positivity mindset and I hate it too haha. But it's an important song for the people it's meant for.
