I get that we all want gear, but I've never seen a clip, HC or otherwise, where someone actually has their character sheet open, furiously fantasizing and having tunnel vision about what gear they might get - WHILE IN COMBAT, to the point where they outright ignore raid mechanics/directions. Too bad this guy didn't get a free trip back to Dun Morogh, too.
(yeah the warrior should have waited and another priest could have shielded, but holy crap this guy is next level clueless)
that fact that HE's calling others "dogshit at the game" is just straight up outrageous, when he was the one who fckd up, and after he HARDLY acknowledge that he's the problem he still doesn"t care, just shrougs it off, when cdank is a nice guy/player.
Vthevictim really made himself look dumb here, compare this to Wake after emi's death he reflected and felt bad for 2 days straight and thought of all the possible ways he could do better and took some accountability. V took no accountability and was literally gear checking before a boss instead of paying attention. Easy when you chill healing in the back and can always get out, classic blame the tanks for dying it's a thankless job

I don't think that would help though. That was way too much damage, way too fast. The tank should have worn a shield of his own.
@@AkiRa22084 Poison spit is magic damage so a shield wouldn't help. Renew and PW:S should've been on the tank before the pull. The tank can also wait 15s for Weakened Soul to fall off so the priest can reapply the bubble instantly after it breaks.

True about Weakened Soul, but that sounds too complicated for Classic andies too pull-of.
Also would Two PW: Shields back to back be enough for this kinda damage. I don't remember how it scaled back then.
@@SublethalCat the priest should definitely have been paying attention, however it should be noted that the best way to get both a pre-shield and pre-casted heals would be to use a countdown rather than tiptoeing across the line whenever his internal adhd timer runs out.

It's also possible that a shield and pre casted heal could have saved him, and at least V could have a clear conscious knowing he did everything he could. Instead he did literally nothing and should take some accountability

@@bassisku Shieldblocking the 1600 melee swings before it wouldve helped. Or using shieldwall. Or cc'ing ANY of the adds so they don't all shoot at once, given they had SIX mages and a druid.
The funniest part of the mage dying by fall damage is not only he pressed F1 instead of F2 but he also pressed Shift + 2 instead of Shift + 3
That's why I have specific keybinds for my "Oh shit!" buttons, instead of grouping them together like that idiot.

@@LiliumCruorem Naw, that death was about 80% his fault, 20% the tanks. Tank SHOULD have waited until a bubble was on him, but that priest should have also been paying attention to the callout that was specifically asked of him, and he shouldn't have been trash talking after the fact.

One call from the raid lead "shield the tank then go in" both the tank and priest don't follow the call and tank instant dies. Classic players are just on a whole other level.
tanks and healers are consistently the worst players in any given raid go figure. there's a reason why they weasel into these hard to replace positions rather than compete

You only notice the healer and tank being bad when things go poorly.
You don't notice when the the damage dealers don't do optimal damage because that doesn't affect the party or raid the same.
Healing missing 5 seconds kills the party. Afk for 4 minutes and people won't even notice.

I can pretty comfortably say that tanks are consistently the worst players in the raid, unless you recruited a DPS to tank. Classic healers are a close second though, complete brain rot playerbase.

@@eatberries3173 True, the off tank is supposed to pull the encounter and the MT is supposed to taunt the boss off as far as I know. Healers should've been prepared in case everything hit at once and I'm not sure about who was supposed to taunt or w/e. Victims attitude sucked though.
Last clip, that priest... wow id kick him 10 seconds after his comment towards Sardaco when he called him out after calling 3 times for shield.

Simple as talking while driving? This raid unnessessarily created a bottleneck situation by subtracting 4 of 4 shots of unmitigated serpents' burst from the unprepared offtanks hp.
Had any of the players cc'ed, they would've easily made it without any risk, no matter the gear or consumeables, even with the priest distracted and offtank taking preventable damage from the boss.

And in 99% of situations shielding a tank will get you flamed for preventing rage.

Making errors is human, they might not have had the stream open to witness his outrageous behavior. Knowing all this I would definitely kick him after the fact though.
@@dubious6718 The offtank died because he took two melee swings from the boss which he shouldn't but could've shieldblocked and then 3 of 4 poison shots within 0.1 seconds. None of the adds are cc'ed.
Should've. not necessarily for the shield, but how the guy acted before and after the pull and confirmed death.

@@AkiRa22084 that's not the point. The point is that there was 2 priests and he still got 0 shields, even tho the RL/GM clearly called for it. Hell he didn't even need to call for it, preshield and prehot before the pull most basic thing to do and they couldn't do it. Why would you want to raid with trash players that get your guildies killed and that could potentially get you killed. Insta kick or demote atleast.

Like come on, the fight doesn't even start and u can tell the guy isn't good, then he does that. He even could have used that to precast on pull so the tank wouldn't die.
Reason why i would never touch Hardcore. Its troll simulator and Streamer farm simulator.
You also can play smart, know all the quests / risky Caves and mobs, or grind more to avoid harder quests.
You never know until you try it. It's a really fun community, people who will go out of their way to try and help and save you

That priest has to be a clear indication as to why it's a huge risk to play a tank in HC, so absorbed into his gear and what he wants instead of listening to raid instructions. My God, the narcissism.
That priest was last in line to prevent their doomed strategy. Doesn't mean it's all his fault. You can blame his attitude but had any of the other influencing players not failed, priests actions would've gone unnoticed.

I just dislike a player to receive 100% of responsibility and blame though several people failed before him and could've prevented it.

I guess they designed the doors when Plainsrunning was still a thing 🤷♂ No one realized until the first mounted tauren ran up through the big door at the bottom and got stuck at the top door. For some reason, they wanted the top one to be half the size. I bet the dev responsible plays gnome and wanted to make sure that no taurens were able to run away on a mount if Undercity was attacked by the alliance. IF, SW and DAR has some of the most colossal doorways in the game compared to their own sizes. They made sure that even Kazzak was able to fit them, at least.
well, those entrance-ways weren't built for tauren but for undead so tauren not fitting through on kodo mount makes sense to me.

If a main tank healer isn't fully utilizing their gear at the most important points of a pull, they are just lazy freeloaders. It would be like a pilot not paying attention during take off or landing, the only times when a pilot is necessary.

That's how we did the Garr pull as well, Mage pulls with iceblock, dw warrior pulls off the mage with shieldwall (not deathwish) Sapper to get aggro
Wearing a shield has nothing to do with it, your shielding gets broken thru when you have more than 2 mobs on you

Mage at 18:30 made a classic mistake. She did blink, she hit it immediately after ice block ended. You can hear the sound effect go off. But she was standing right next to a tree. Blink did nothing.
Glad she got out, she was clearly panicking. She should have hit ice nova first while running for the ledge, then blink, then jump, slow fall, winning. Worked out anyway but she was real close to dead.
*edit* And wow, that last clip. If I was guild lead and saw that video, I'd kick the priest immediately. Not listening, and even if he heard nothing he could see the tank go in for the pull. You shield and start heals immediately. SOP, even in just normal classic. But in HC? Sheesh. If he wants to stay in the guild he has to delete his character, roll a new one, and be the tanks personal healer while leveling again. Maybe then he'll learn how to priest by the time he hits 60.

Sure but have you played priest? Every single time you put a shield on a warrior you get flamed for preventing rage.
Warriors will tell you to "Don't shield me" so after awhile you just don't ever shield em.
Never heard anything about shield during pull here and I have healed ZG without problems before.

yeah thats crazy they been raiding together and cdank trusted them to keep him alive in each pull, watching your priest making love with his gear while the raid leader is explaining what to do and how to keep the tank alive i would rage quit too, like its not just a character anymore it a months of work put in to that and you just died coz someone is getting horny over his gear
15:00 He may have potentially survived this by getting aggro on the mobs with his void walker, then sending his void walker on some other mob away from him, and getting far enough to actually lose sight (and thus aggro) on the mobs.

Not accepting any accountability, insulting the people and calling them bad, then wondering what he did wrong, even though they explicitly are telling him and did beforehand. That level of obsession with loot to the extent that he disregards the safety of others is sickening.
1st one is just not possible. It wouldn't have mattered (the mobs also have a stun/knockdown) and the Voidwalker was dead too quickly after that.
And then putting out a statement like "we don't need a tank" after he was the one responsible for the tank dying, basically saying "it's not that bad (someone lost his hundreds of hours of progress because of me.)".
It's ironic that the healer player is the most narcissistic one in the raid.
Tanking in hardcore in the biggest grift in the entire world. You have to go above and beyond to make sure you're as durable as possible, you can do everything right and still die because somebody in your group has 1 APM and you don't get healed or some idiot DPS player didn't install a threat addon and you die for it. Every other role can be lazy as hell except for the tank.
You get far more shit than healers, but healers get all the backpats and told they did a good job rather than you. People just take you doing your job right for granted. Sure tanks can have a big of an ego but, man. Healers or hyper aggressive dps that pull for you as a tank are far far worse.
What scene are you talking about? It can't be the last clip as nothing you mentioned is true there.
That offtank is underequipped, unprepaired, takes preventable and blockable damage dualwielding and then gets blown up in 0.1 seconds by high damage unmitigated shots (plus 2000 overkill) by uncc'ed mobs.
Other raids cc the serpents or play as three tanks. They don't drop below 80% hp.
That priest in their guild needs to get kicked. They all can come watch the clip of him letting Cdank die lol.

so on the Cdank clip why didn't the other priest do anything either? and also, why did Cdank run in if he didn't have the shield and pre heal? it's obvious this priest wasn't paying attention, but apparently neither was the other priest or the tank.
Nor were the plenty of dps who could've cc'ed the serpents so the tank wouldn't get 4 of the 4 shots at once, which he didn't mitigate with cds.
a mage pull with iceblock or paladin with bubble had been safer than a warrior who got no shield / heal / attention but just an alibi HoT a second before 9999 million damage are about to hit.😅
It could be that there was trust from the tank to expect teammates to do their parts? It's as simple as that. Tank called for things, explained abilities, and gets shat on after zero effort to try & sustain him even the slightest.

Sounds funny but is a fair question as it is recommended to cc them in literally the first paragraph of wowheads strategy guide for phase one of that 20 year old fight and the raid had 6 mages and a druid.
The offtank was also hit by the boss for 1600 damage in melee swings beforehand which he shouldn't be targeted by but could've shieldblocked nonetheless. And he took the serpents shots unmitigated which could've been cc'ed.

It saddens me for the members of the raid they do that roll normally and sometimes don't get the item because this guy is crying and they feel they can't keep the item otherwise they won't get to play with Asmon again. Because I'm pretty sure this is what happens. The worst part is that he does it every fucking time. Destroying a mount because one guy keeps crying is fucking ridiculous. Plus insulting Asmon on every single stream he's invited into is really shit. Always the same story with McConnell...
For that hord warrior to come in with the save is exactly what the hord is supposed to be like in the lore, for and with honor, there would be no honor in killing a warrior that’s afk or asleep, and there’s no honor in letting a beast kill them when they know they can stop them. A TRUE HORDE MOMENT

When I first started playing WoW, I was playing as a Tauren Druid. I was very low level, and pulled a high level mob. I was running in circles because they were all over. As I was about to die, a high level warrior decked out in armor with a huge battle axe came riding in, killed the mob in one swing. Hopped back on his mount and waved. Such a cool experience back in 2009
To be fair they should have done a ready check before pulling a RAID BOSS.

Nearly a dozen players failed before him in this escalating pull. Had any of them not failed, him not playing perfectly would've been compensated and his actions gone unnoticed.
Other raids play this fight just fine by using a tank with shield, def cds or cc the adds. They don't even drop below 80% hp. This tank took truckloads preventable damage unmitigated. Collectively misplayed.

In MMO's I'm a tank main, that last clip is why I will NEVER tank on any kind of permadeath server.
Why? Could it happen to you to fail to equip your most important piece of tanking gear, too? Then taking melee swings you shouldn't take and could've blocked but didn't? And then not use def cds to take four of four high damage shots unmitigated, by mobs that can be cc'ed which is recommended in the first paragraph of a widely known guide website, with plenty of unused cc in the group, and *then* blame it on the healer who didn't heal you for 100% of your hp in 0.1 seconds?
Hardcore really be separating classic/retail players from vanilla chads

DPS tanks are really fun, but for dungeons, they're completely trash. Defensive tanks are useless outside of dungeons. The worst possible time. You're constantly paying goal to Reset your skills And repairs. The only people like to play tanks.r people with big eagles who like to talk The ones don't want the last word. Or they always have something clever to say.
I will only tank for in sal's healers. The ones that are dramatically skinny are overweight. Who drink mountain dew and probably have glass Who drink Mountain Dew and probably have glasses. The ones that will never let you down. They don't even talk. Because their brain is literally in the moment of the game. Hardcore or not. The offtank is not wearing a shield nor using def cds nor active mitigation. He took two melee swings he wasn't suppoed to tank but could've shieldblocked. Then he dies to three of four poison shots that hit within 0.1 seconds which is half average reaction speed. The adds can be cc'ed. The raid consisted of 6 mages and a druid and used a total of 0 cc.
Other raids play this smoothly and don't even drop below 80% hp.
The tank was dead either way, but the streamer still would've fucked it up if the tank did everything he was supposed to do.

Why would anyone want to be a tank in hardcore? You're basically putting hundreds of hours of work into the hands of healers who may very well be drooling to their gear instead of healing you.
Here's the thing, in normal WoW, I never played a rogue because I hate how their entire playstyle is to be cowardly. But if I ever decide to make a hardcore character, it's definitely going to be a rogue because playing like a coward is the only way to play that makes sense in hardcore! You wanna be big d*cking it as a dual-wield tank in a hardcore raid? Well then, I hope you liked leveling to 60 because you're going to be doing it again!
When MC was being cleared for the first time on HC (road to rag), stream viewers were complaining about how slow and planned every pull was.I believe they practice-ran MC for a couple months before downing Ragnaros. Every raider was handpicked. If you got to 60 then, you were probably somewhat exceptional at the game. Now the mode's gotten so mature that average players are casually alt-tabbing themselves to death in HC raids; even people who've never previously played WoW are getting pretty far without dying. No one could've predicted this in 2021. The skill/trust expectations have dropped as the mode's exploded. When HC was just a couple hundred guys, a Maraudon group = all the best HC players in one place

Fourth projectile was in the air already, and would have hit him for another 1.7k damage for a total of 2k overkill. Cdank pulled without flask and without pws and had the least hp of any warrior in the raid, he was dead no matter what
So you would also ban raidleader for no assignment of cc, offtank for no shield no cds and dps who couldn't be bothered to use cc? Man that raid would shrink fast!
All my life i have been a tank but there is no way in hell i could tank in hardcore. There are too many mechanics where you are 100% reliant on others.

Imagine to start the fight nonetheless without shield, not manage targets with the maintank in time, take preventable damage unmitigated and get deleted within 0.1 seconds to mobs that could've been cc'ed.
And then imagine checking other raids do the fight safely and realize they don't drop below 80% hp.
