This was my first year of Empire too, I found it very overwhelming at first, I main chilled and walked around a lot and learned the Game. I personally played in League as a Bravo street fighter. E4 I started getting into the game and started enjoying it more. But starting from E1 I'll be playing Varushkan Warden aka Monster hunter !

I have been suggested by a friend that if I want to get into LARP to go with her to Empire and this was exactly the video I needed to get the basic idea of what to expect, thank you both :)

I'll be going to E1 this year and its my first time. - Do we, as the players, need to do anything in regards to prep for the character pack beyond creating the character on the PD site and getting your ticket? for example, do we need to submit our character anywhere, or is it done automatically due to one buying the ticket? Hope you can help! and again, really helpful video :)
Hey! You just needs to go through character creation on the website, buy a ticket and show up in kit! Your character is tied to your PD account and PD number!
Are there other larps in the UK? I've only recently started looking at larping. Also what would the experience be like for someone on their own? Gf isn't interested
Yes lots! There are 3 large systems, Empire, Curious Pastimes and Lorian Trust. There are many smaller professional Larp games and local club larps. There is a FB group “UK LARP EVENTS” if you post your location/requirements people can point you to the appropriate game. Festival LARPS could be daunting solo depending on your confidence level. Empire in particular is very welcoming to solo players, it's common to join FB groups/servers before hand to establish some connections and maybe join a group going.
From the various regular members I know, Empire is very much a game that you can excel at if you know people that have been attending for a long time and already have clout. Do not attend if you are a singular player or don’t have contacts. It’s a VERY clicky game.
Thanks for the comment! I would have to disagree based on our experience, As we said in the video we went to empire as our first LARP. We went in blind without knowing anyone in the community and I would say we have excelled. We also know new players that came in solo and by the 4th event have high political positions. Come give it a go!
@@2have2role Think it depends on the player and the nation. Dawn is probably the best nation for new players, just from a design point of view. The test of mettle is such a great way to get people into the game. I started on my own in League and really struggled for a long time. If you're an extrovert you'l probably be fine anywhere but introverts should probably find a group before going.
