Planted 26 trees. Made a paddle. Made a table. Hung some pictures ... . He also did a follow up last year where he walked the 1-mile loop with his new baby that gives a completely different perspective on the same lap.
Beau is a great story teller. I watch every minute of his. He actually ran a full marathon in that vid. He started off with a 5k so it ended up being 26 miles in 24 hrs. I kind of skipped around watching this.
@@treyellis3 Is anything it was David Goggins, which is actually tougher because it’s 4 mile run in 2 hours for 24 hours. Pretty much like running 20 miles in 24 hours. If you’re fast enough you can knock out a 4 miler in a half an hour, like I can, then it means you get more rest. My fastest mile while doing the Goggins style challenge was 7:26 because I wasn’t pushing too hard I was just going to see how much of that I could do. I got up to about 10 hours (or about 14 miles) and that was all I could do.
@@treyellis3 I guess.. but not a new idea.Imma guess tons of runners have some random thought like this. We talked about this exact run, 1mile an hour for 24 hours, in college as an off season, fuck around team building thing.
I love that Nick's always positive vibes and humility. Like even though he's an Olympian and I'm a mortal, I feel like I wouldn't feel intimidated to work out with him because he seems so inclusive and welcoming. Great vids! :)
I don't know if you've heard of Beau Miles, but he made a film doing a very similar challenge and it's one of my favorite short films to watch on TH-cam. So when you announced you were doing this same type of challenge I got very happy. This video (like all your others) is so fun and inspirational and I'm so glad you have this space where runners can come together and share their passion. Keep up the incredible work dude, to you and your team.
In high school I wa part of a ten man 24 hour relay where each person runs a mile, and hands it off to the next guy. It worked out at about a timed mile every hour. It was brutal. We broke an obscure record for it, because so few teams had tried it.
I did this challenge last year for my 16th birthday. Really fun and miserable at the same time, especially since I didn’t plan on it beforehand and I did it all alone. I ran 1.1-1.3 every hour to hit a total of about 27 miles, every one being sub 8, which was my goal. Some highlights include seeing a bighorn sheep in the middle of the road in my suburban area (there’s a property with goats/sheep on that route), and seeing random teen pushing a car around with their friend on top. This year I think I’ll try 4 miles every 4 hour for 48 hours.
For real and then she did a cart wheel when she won a race. I can't even run a 10min mile... Let alone have energy to do a cartwheel after one. She's an animal 😂
This video might be a year old, but it's what I needed to see TODAY! Thanks Nick for the push! I'm on day 13 in a 30-day challenge and I really didn't wanna do my work out tonight- super tired and exhausted. I found this video and to my surprise it was exactly what I needed to see and hear! No pain, no gain!! Keep up the amazing work!
Way to go Nick! I did this challenge a few weeks ago too! Definitely easier to run the whole thing at once rather than breaking it up. Keep up the cool challenges!
Congratulations on setting the goal and sticking to it. Setting goals is easy, finishing is difficult. I've observed many things in here. How important it is for our friends to be part of the journey and doing it together makes all the difference at the same time you were all alone in the last mile. Even that has a message that no matter what, you yourself are responsible for finishing the task. There is so much of learning in this task and thank you for inspiring me. Loved it. Love from India 🇮🇳 Regards, Vatsal
All of your videos are incredible but this is by far the most impressive. Even your last few miles you were able to keep a great pace. You are such a huge inspiration to help me get back into shape.
I love watching your running videos. Im 27 years old and I used to be on cross country and track in high school and loved to run but I was diagnosed with late-onset tay-sacks disease and it makes you quads very weak and even though I trained legs since high school, the progression of tay-sacks is to severe and still makes the quads very week and now I struggle with walking. I can walk but stairs and running im not able to do. Keep being positive and keep on running!
Watching this video saturday morning, with a good cup Of coffee and now i feel like going for a run. Thanks nick for the great videos and motivation to workout. Greetings from Finland :)
Not to downplay how challenging this might be, but imagine just running 24 hours straight. The world record distance for that is an almost incomprehensible 198.5 miles, or more than 7.5 marathons.
Nick if you do a video in DC this summer or fall, I’d totally bring me and some of my high school team for it! Northern Virginia(which is where I run) has a pretty good distance track and XC lineup!
My high school did this challenge around a month ago but it was 2 miles every hour for 12 hours It was pain, the fact that you spread it over 24 hours has me in awe of your mental toughness
You should do a day in the life video after one of these challenges to showcase your recovery or basically just how your body is doing the next day, I think that would be cool.
