Boulder native here, born & raised and still living here. No one can take the abundance of nature and awesome views for granted, although it's easy to not use all the trails around us. Colorado is considered a semi-arid climate. We teeter on the margin of being in a drought. That's why wildfires are so common. Glad you enjoyed your time here 😊 Caren
I love that Thomas was like "Robby's hiking "meals" are a crime against humanity anyway, so I'll just give him this random bag of cereal and he should be good" 😄
Welcome back to our beautiful state, Robbie. Next time, don't bring the smoke. I was hoping you would end your hike at Chautauqua and grab an ice cream at the country store. Maybe next time. Also, I would suggest Dushanbe Tea House for an interesting meal. I loved Thomas's Tajma-tent. I car camp in Colorado, and have an 8-person tent all to myself, with a cot - emergency composting toilet - side table - chair - and lots of room to stand and walk around. Since the weather is so unpredictable here, it's nice to have a comfortable shelter during mountain storms. The musical compositions for this episode were brilliant. At times I felt like I was in a Zelda game. Love your content. Can't wait for tor the next episode.
“If I squint my taste buds hard enough this almost tastes like a fresh hot chocolate chip cookie.” Thank you for the laughs and the absolute restorative video! ❤️ You guys remind me of the old tv shows like Wild Kingdom! Good stuff!
When AA puts out a new video, I always hit the like button immediately, before watching, because I know it's going to be a great video..Loved it guys!!!
What a treat! Saw your notification and hit that play button so fast 😂😂 a little obsessed - yes 👍🏼 geeky too. But worth the watch. Getting my popcorn ready and glass of wine. Best way to relax after a hard day of work. Thx guys!
This was a great video. Really upbeat. Beautiful scenery, both country and city, fun commentary, and interesting and energetic soundtrack. Thank you! ❤. Hope you are having a great Fall season!
I enjoyed this video. I've been in Colorado for almost 40 years. Have seen a lot of change and population growth - kind of heartbreaking :/ I think I recognized the campground where you were - the KOA outside of BV? Can't wait to see the video of your hike to top of Mt. Sherman. I'm older and am trying to get health and fitness back while dealing with tough autoimmune diseases. I used to climb 13- and 14ers and hope to try them again next summer. Was cool to see the Mesa Trail; I haven't hiked much in the Boulder/Flatirons area. Well done!
Thanks guys! For another great trip, I feel like I'm with you guys! And hopefully one day, I will get to go on a backpacking adventure with you guys! 🤠
You remind me of the kid from the movie Zombieland. Yeah, I always carry more water then I think I will need. When I've hiked in Rocky Mountain National Park. I often take a Gallon of water. Two 40 ounce water bottles and a 48 ounce bladder. No such thing as too much water :)
Really loving this video so far. Beautiful sunny day. Would love to be hiking there along with Robby. Really liked how he came down off the trails and into Boulder covering some decent ground. I've been there where a friend showed me the Chautauqua neighborhood. I think it had something to do with a movement in the 1870s and onwards to get more Americans into the outdoors. It was sort of a boyscouts for adults and included a lot of entertainment.
Oh I miss Colorado already! We just came back to Australia after hiking there for two weeks, it's so so beautiful. We did notice it seemed like some Coloradans were taking it a bit for granted on trail, they'd often pass us and say things like "don't worry, the boring part is almost over", and me and my partner were like "boring part?! This is incredible!!" Hahah... Excited to see the next video! The more relaxed ones with just you and Thomas are my fave, hope Sierra tags along too 😊
So at the moment i'm camping in my van outside of Canmore, east of Banff, Canada. I don't know. If you guys have ever been here but i've never seen anything like the canadian rockies and rivers and the lakes and I live in portland oregon i've seen a lot of the northwest but this is a world of its own. Tons the hiking trails, Tons of stunning gorgeousness, You guys should check it out. ❤
Thanks for another killer Tom and Robbie episode. You two complement each other. That tent was MASSIVE. It makes the four man tent look like an outhouse! Intrigued about the Apple Watch walkie talkie feature - I'll have to look into that...
what a beautiful trail, as for taking for granted trails me and hubby hike and bike the same trails have been doing so for about 30 years I still love it. seeing beautiful plants and animals and blue skies or sometimes there being snow on the ground, once we went hiking in the end of december to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and then went out to dinner. ohio has some very beautiful trails, used to be able to hike better than I can now due to old injury and obesity problems but have you gusy ever hiked the cuyahoga valley near cleveland? one of my favorite park up there is the naturealm in akron. beautiful plants of every kind, I learned about alot fo plants there. i have to ask this how in the world can you guys eat so much sugar and carbs and stay so thin? i am struggling with my diet (ketogenic) lost some weight but not like I had hoped, my body is very stubborn, been struggling with my weight for 40 years despite diets and hiking and used to be a runner, but lost that when I did weight watchers what a disaster that was. colorado is very beautiful place. see why you llike it so much.
Nice! I live in Lafayette. Eldo Canyon and Chautauqua are both about 15 minutes from my house. Eldo is my favorite and regular run spot in Boulder. I actually went for a run on my lunch break (Amazon driver I get 30 minutes) at that trailhead a few days ago. Guessing this was back in July?
Must’ve done this hike in late July this yr… I live near Beaver Creek, CO and that Canadian wildfire smoke blew into the valley here around that time. Thankful it was only for a week or 2 and cleared out.
Lived in Colorado all my life except for my time in the military. I wish I could show you some of the ancient hieroglyphs/rock art here in my beautiful Colorado, but I'll never share my secret spots with anyone ever again 🤐
There is also in Boulder Etown ...music environmental themes and more...a weekly show telecast over the radio with some well known groups like Los Lobos
Solo Robbie hikes are my fav!!! although, I can't wait for the continuationof this adventure! Anyone know what the tent at 35:07 is?? Brand? I want one!!
Hey Robbie I could swear I saw a wedding ring on your finger a couple videos ago. Did you get married? Also I have a question for you all. If you saw a Bigfoot while out hiking would you run away scared and leave the area or would you just continue on like you saw a deer😅 Curious minds want to know. I had an experience which terrified me while camping with my son and wife 3 yrs ago. I will never forget it. A little after 3:00 a.m. a tree behind my tent and camp got slammed in a limb came down breaking and then 10 minutes later another one right above our camp. Then another one later down past my son's tent. I was so terrified I could not move literally for at least an hour and I finally was able to get back to sleep and the next morning I woke up a little after 9:00 and my son was out at the campfire and I asked him if he heard it the night before and he didn't hear a thing😮. It was so loud it should have woke the whole campground. I've heard other people say that only they heard certain noises, I don't know what that's all about
I'm curious now.. Did you see the fallen trees the next day? Lifelong Coloradan here and I have 2 odd experiences with what could've been a Bigfoot in the Yampa area. One very similar to yours, but instead of trees crashing, something from behind our camp threw 3 large rocks towards our camp as we had a campfire going in the late of night. We hiked-in to camp- not a road around for about a half mile. We explored the surrounding areas the following morning and no sign of humans to be found! I also have a very frightening story of the La Llorona knocking on our hunting trailer while stuck in a snowstorm asking to come in, and when we went out with our guns, there wasn't a footstep to be found anywhere near our trailer. We packed up and hauled ass outta there within minutes in the dead of the night! Lol!
@anthonychihuahua always gotta watch out for the Landsharks.. they can disguise themselves so cleverly...gotta watch out for the Cougars in the bars especially if you refuse to buy them drinks
@@anthonychihuahua there was already a bunch of down trees in the area so not sure. Here's something else I didn't say. A guy came in on a motorcycle across the street and up this hill from us and camped in a tent hammock for just one night. At around 3:00 a.m. he said something touched his toes through the tent hammock while he was sleeping and woke him up and he was literally petrified. 😳‼️ Kale eggs tomatoes he came up to the top of the hill the next day and yelled down at us and asked us if we had seen any bear in the area. We had not. I really think it was a Sasquatch.
@@skrem23 Trust me. When you unwittingly creep up on a black bear deep in the Colorado woods and literally come face to face with one, it might as well be a Grizzly Bear! Lol! 😱🐻
Hey Robby, are you using the new camera? Just my opinion but that stabilization makes the corners wobbly/jiggle lol. It doesn't obviously detract from the story line but it's definitely in my eyes noticeable.
pnw has as good/even better trails near where more people live. columbia river gorge for pdx or cascades near seattle. but maybe even more people like to hike so solitude can be harder to find if that's your thing. far more precipitation for much of the year though and that makes things interesting sometimes.
Yeah, I live up in Cheyenne, and we had smoke again this yet. I wish some one would put the fire out before they leave camp :) It is some nice hiking down there. Same thing holds true up in Yellowstone. I worked there for three summers. And most people just don't take the time. So yeah, even hiking out from the Old Faithful Area. You hit the trail and a mile later, your alone. Kind of spooky :)
I feel like AA is my family I've been watching them so long! Love you guys! ❤
First step is admitting you have a problem

A joy to see a new upload from you guys! My mom and I love to watch your videos and even rewatch the ones we finished. Much love from the Philippines!

The bark on those evergreens smells like butterscotch!

I now understand why you called it a Mega tent 🤣
Me 🤝 Robbie - human kibble when? (Cereal for life!)
Always down for a solo Robby hiking video
Looks amazing, but I would miss lakes and rivers, it doesn't matter where I am here in Sweden, there is always a lake close by.
I am in Colorado. I think trail people here do not take it for granted, but some Coloradans have no idea what they’re missing.
Yup some never get up in Mts
In the out-takes - Thomas' car !!
