The element really could use a 6th gear. Luckily it isn’t all too difficult to add it in. And of course because it’s a Honda you can use 6th out of a Civic Si, RSX type-S, or TSX. The TSX will give you better milage though. At 80mph in 5th gear the element is just north of 4K rpm and due to its weight and super boxy shape it struggles to get decent fuel milage. Plus I live in a super hilly and windy area so I’m averaging about 17-19mph but if I drive super aggressively it’s easy to see 15 or 16mpg.
Wow that’s such a great tip! I’ve driven a 6 speed element and it was very nice to drive. While the element is obviously not known for gas mileage I still love the damn thing. Where do you live if you don’t mind me asking?
Thanks for the video. I'm thinking about getting one for a second vehicle.. I would add a 6 speed to mine. I like the all wheel drive and stick shift. I wouldn't mind high mileage. They're easy to work on and parts are plentiful.. From CRV or other used Hondas, I could find parts...❤❤❤🎉😊
0 to 60 in 13s? Is that just normal acceleration or was that actually flogging it? Always been interested in the element, but I get bored if a car doesn't have decent acceleration and 13s is slow.
I recently upgraded to a 6 speed but I have a bunch of gear up top so I am getting 18 - 20 mpg before that it was about the same without stuff on top so 18-20
I traded my 2004 Honda Element EX 5sp for a brand new 2017 Toyota Tacoma 6sp 3.5L V6 and ended up hating it.. New manuals suck, in my opinion. And a tacoma is no replacement for an Element at all.
Seriously I hope to keep mine till the wheels fall off. That’s good to know because those Tacomas are so nice! Much more ground clearance than this thing but depends on how often you go off road I guess 😂
@@StephenAldaco yeah. The six speed is only available in a short wheelbase. I thought the truck sucked, I had it for just over three years, didn’t even put 30k miles on it, air conditioning stopped working, as did the blind spot monitors, just outside 36 month warranty. I have a f-150 now, beats the pants off the Tacoma any day. But, i would still rather have an Element. Rust took mine out, I blew up the transmission hard shifting from 1 to 2. Loved it so much I dropped around $2500 Canadian to replace transmission with used transmission. I think I got two years more, it started needing many repairs after 200k km. But ultimately, it was corrosion that forced me to trade.
Yikes man! There are plenty of rust free ones here in SoCal. If you ever want to get a replacement. Perhaps one day Honda will make a new element fingers crossed 🤩
@@StephenAldaco I hope they do, hybrid or PHEV would be awesome. We spray salt brine and spread salt on the roads for nearly 5 months of the year here, there are lots of Elements (and CR-V's) getting pulled off the road by Honda after inspection of the rear suspension. They literally do not allow owners to drive the car anymore and the only option is a "buy back". Find for CR-V, but as you know, there's nothing like an Element
Leave a comment if you love the Element!
I've got a deposit down on an 05 EX Man AWD. Looking forward to getting that on the road. Hope to hit PWN next year!
Road Trip is a good start to a hiking trek. The people that you go with make it all the more fun, sharing that experience. Thank you for the video.
Exactly! Can’t wait for summer time to take some adventures in this bad boy! Thanks for watching

I miss driving manual transmission. 👍
It’s very fun 🤩 just needs a turbo 🏎
I sometimes miss the shift if the music is up too loud. Good reason to add a cool air intake.
Haha oh I bet that sounds so good on the KA!
Yup not the exact reason. But part of the reason why I added the injen SRI to my element.
Also looking to add the injen cat back exhaust too

Good choice! My buddy has a 6 speed in his and a k24a2 swap making over 200 Hp!
Aw man.. jealous of the khaki color !
Hehehe 🤭 I love it too! An element is an element though. So if you have a good one I wouldn’t trade it in for a color haha

Granny shifting not double clutching like you should
I was totally about to add that clip in 😅😅😅
😅
What’s ur mpg? I’m curious about the manual transmission with AWD versus Manual transmission with front wheel drive. Or Automatic with AWD

love mine fosho!
What color is yours??

I sold my 2015 4Runner Trail and bought an 03 FWD 5spd - it rocks!! Wish I had unloaded the 4Runner sooner, the Element is the perfect vehicle!
Hi Toby
There’s your grandson 😅
If you talk cars you have to mention what YEAR the car is.
2005 is the year of this Honda element
Hello! I'm from Russia and so like Element. But in Russia this car is not popular and very difficult to buy it.
Awesome! There’s a few people from Russia I follow on instagram who have elements. So cool to see! What city? Moscow St. Petersburg?
@@StephenAldaco you don't heard about this city i think) Yoshkhar-ola)
Nope I haven’t so cool! Welcome my friend hope you find a nice element in your area
@@StephenAldaco how much cost element in USA?
Hey, looking to sell?
Not yet…but maybe soon I’ll keep you in mind 🫡
I drive mines like a civic
Me too a civic with 20 mpg 😅.
You’d hate it in LA, traffic. Manual sux.
Oh trust me I know all about it I live in Orange County so I travel to LA a bit.
Nice
So nice
