    ADD is a blessing. No way could you hyper focus like you do without it. My son is gifted with it, works until it gets done with perfect focus, has always been mechanically oriented and hands on. We were told it would inhibit him when he was a little boy and his teacher demanded he be medicated. We resisted and encouraged any interest he developed. He turned out a fine young man who’s much valued by his employer.

    I don't think it's ADD. Your an outloud thinker. A sign of high intelligence.🧐 We percieve the percise organization as a waste of time till just before the actual job. All good except for the insomnia. A free flow of ideas that someone can organize for you would help substantially. The informational flow was better in this video because you organized your thoughts based on listening to yourself in the first video. Just a thought from a guy who has the same problem. I've seen other examples in your past videos. Your brain is faster than your mouth. That's a compliment btw.🙏 Amazing amount of info.🤯 Love every minute of it. Thank you again professor. 🤗

      One shouldn't make assumptions about a bloke one doesn't know based one one's own experience, it's a common lay mistake. Maybe he's spent a very long time being professionally diagnosed by a very good clinical psychologist with extensive broad experience of these things.

      @@mickvonbornemann3824 Fair point. However not being a lay, I have seen the definitions of Add change and the effect of geniuses turned into zombies. But diagnosing a conditioned based on videos..truth.. Not really possible. But the cure sometimes it's worse than the disease. Your point is taken and recieved well.

      ADD .... to some it may seem like a handicap but in reality, for the person with ADD, it can be what makes them great. Yes I have ADD and I am Chrysler girl....2010 Chrysler 300c SRT8. For someone without it, we seem like we are the most disorganized, easily distracted person that can never finish what we started and to some extent it is true....... but when we find something that interests you, a person with ADD usually excels in whatever is that "stimulates your brain" and will focus on the job at hand to the point that we can't let go until is not just finished but perfect.

    1990, stopped at a Goodwill store.
    Bought a t-shirt that said Knoxville World's Fair 1982. Found a little dive bar across the freeway.
    Had a little food and a beer.
    Visited with the locals.
    They were nice people.
    You're doing a good job Tony.
    People like you just the way you are, just roll with it. Organized, but not contrived. Just say what you want. Speak right off the top of your head and your heart.
    You get to be you. You get to be liked for who you are. Finally.

    The more technical you get, the more I enjoy your channel. My love for Mopar started with the slant 6 and 318. Be the 1st, no one has ever built a slant 6 and shown the video journey / proven the before and after. Back in 1991?, one of the Mopar rags mentioned angle milling the head. Based on your description of the cross flow head, this seems to make sense.

    Wow! I would never have guessed that was a slanty. Or anything like it. Thanks for showing that not every drag car has to be over 400 cubic inches. I hope a lot of teenagers are watching your channel along with us old geezers. Maybe you'll encourage some of them to go back to old school hot rodding instead of building another Honda Civic just because that's what all of their buddies are doing. Different is cool! 😎

      ProPerformanceNutrition.com the round holes actually don’t take away any integrity except maybe in the case of an accident, and if you see under the hood of that car, there is nothin but the shell of the front end there anyways. He’s counting pennies to get the car going faster, so I guess in a way, it does make a difference, just not enough for the average person to spend the time

    Uncle Tony, My first car was a '67 Dart with the 225 Slant Six... Man I miss that thing... Anyway, I appreciate these two videos, as they've explained the bizarre pause when stomping on the accelerator. You've provided an amazing amount of education to this child of the '70s and '80s.     I have been a Mopar fan since 1985 when I got my 1971 Challenger r/t . Cant wait to get my 83 miser pickup back down here to the ranch. The 225 in it is beyond tired and I am going to rebuild it. Thanks for the insight on the engine type. I have replaced many parts on it over the years (only wear items) and its been unstopable. From deep water crossings to stupid steep climbs on cattle ranch trails and Arizona heat that melts others it is reliable.

    Thanks for the Slant Video. I am 58 and My Dad and Uncle Drove Dusters with slant 6's for over a Million miles back in the '60s to 70's driving back and forth to work. Changed tires, when cords were showing. lol.

    Thanks for the great inside look at the slant 6 engines! I had a 68 Dodge van with a slant 6 and later a 66 Barracuda. Now you are gonna have to do something similar for the smaller V8s like the 273. And don't stop there! This is interesting!

    Back in '70 my mom bought a new Dart with a slant six. It was your basic puddle jumper,light blue four door auto with power steering and vinyl interior. She paid $1995.00 for it. I purchased it from her in '85 when she "upgraded" to an airees K car with a/c. I gave her $750 for the Dart and still have it with 175k on the clock. The car was always garaged so body/interior is all straight and in real nice shape but the slant is kind of tired. After watching your vid's Tony they have been giving me inspiration to make a "sleeper" four door style! TYVM!

    Thank you for your videos on the slant six! My first car was a 1972 Duster with a 225 slant. That engine actually outlived the body of the car. I really respected that engine but got teased alot for not having a V8..but I loved it; so it's great to hear good things about that engine. Your knowledge is impressive and im enjoying your channel. Thank you very much.

    Love the Slant... My first car was a '73 Gold Duster, Snakeskin top, high-back buckets, floor console w/ slapstick auto, back seat folded down and the panel behind the seat dropped for.... hauling... long.... stuff, like a hatchback without the hatch.

    American motors also did an aluminum block on their 196 straight six from 1961 through 1964. It also had a cast iron head. Back in the day a lot of European cars had a cast iron block with an aluminum head. Go figure! Neither Mopar or AMC told enough people that real coolant in the radiator was mandatory.

    I have my great aunts 4 door 1965 valiant 100 with the super 225. 39,000 original miles. Needs a restoration, a buddy saw it and asked if i considered turbocharging it lol.
    It would be a nice sleeper.

    Flashback back auto shop 1974 teams of 2, each got an engine on a stand our neighbor next to us had a 170 we had the 225! The instructor switched the pistons and rods on us and sat back and watched as we struggled to figure out what happened!!!??? Good Times!

    I had a Dodge Swinger with a 302 back in '81 and I loved that car. After I sheared the oil plug on bad road and had an engine meltdown, I ended up with Maverick with a worked 225 and man that car could move. It got scary sometimes. Thanks for the great videos, Tony!

      @@UncleTonysGarage Yeah, maybe. The swinger had a V8 in it. The Maverick had the mid-level 6. It was a long time ago. I wasn't complaining about the performance then, that's for sure. I'm a novice when it comes to the numbers vs. manufacturers. But I sure dig your channel.

    Love the slant 6 ever sense me & my cousin use to try to blow 60's Valiant up as teenagers back in the early 70's - Never could kill it running through hay field s & woods - use it like Jeep w/ ply mud grips- Like to have one in an old pick up to putt around in oneday - Thanks for taking time to make videos especially like the oem stock stuff!

    Really eye opening these segments about the S6. I remember driving them and when I learned whenever it happened to be a slant 6, first thought (And experience) is ya. A good old reliable and smooth sewing machine.
    But it’s not. Well not just that.
    As you have elucidated thoroughly with these segments . And Glad you did.
    Because I have a new appreciation and understanding for them. Cheers.

    Wonderful info. Im glad you discussed the power adders too. Turbo with a nedium shot of no2 to launch then a smaller stage as the intercooler. But as you discussed the nitro in other videos the slant might just really work.

    I was 1st licensed in 1960 at 15 years of age. that year I built my first car. my grandfather on the farm gave me his badly rusted 48 chevy 2 door style master. I put a 56 chevy v8 bored an 8th of an inch with 283 pistons. solid lifter cam valve springs for the Fuel injection motor.4 barrel carter wcfb 3 speed non synchro low trans. hurst syncrolock shifter. 50 olds rear end 3.41(or something like that it was free). reversed some ponticac rims and made spring purchases. used the 8 leaf rear springs out or a 38 master deluxe(free) made my own spring purchases, dual exhaust, drive shaft(balanced it my self). we farm kids had some tools and lots of junk but no money to speak of. how fast was it. My best friend had a beautiful 57 olds super 88 2 door hardtop with the 371 4 barrel. we raced at night on deserted farm land 2 lane for s good mile. told my friend Don all you will see Is my tail lights. And that is all he saw. I got the that car with the 600-16 rayon 4 ply front tires up to a real 120. the whole thing caused him to sell the olds mobile and buy a worthless plastic car(his son survives him and has the beautiful 58 corvette). getting around to you. I want you to know I am not clueless and I have learned MORE from your 2 videos about the slant 6 than in my 74 years of living. never owned one but still its a fascinating subject. thanks for your video.

    Awesome insight. We are looking to flat track my 77 super6 4 speed OD Volare coupe at Millville New Jersey's Motorsports Park. Car is un molested under the hood. Manual steering, but has power brakes and working R12 Airconditioning. Just have a single 2 inch glasspack and turndown. Going to swap out the big starter for a 90's magnum one. Talk about ADD, we might be brothers from another mother. Again great insight. Thanks again

    I'm not a big fan of the hot rod thing but I have always liked the slant six so I checked it out. Your knowledge and insight into the internal combustion engine is interesting to listen to. Thanks for these interesting, informative videos.

    Here's some interesting trivia: The 1976 Dart Lite had a 2 1/2" exhaust system from the manifold back. I don't think it was for performance, personally think they were trying to keep the aluminum 1bbl intake cooler by having a less restrictive exhaust. I have a 76 Dart Lite with the aluminum hood and trunk bracing, and aluminum 833 overdrive 4 speed.

    I had a 225 c.i. Slant Six in my first car in 1974, a two door Dodge Dart. I loved that car, and it's rugged six cylinder power plant...a real torquer. I used to dream of finding a 413 c.i. engine in a wrecking yard, and installing it in my Dodge Dart. The Dart with that engine and the "413 Wedge Package" was the FASTEST car in 1962. Uncle Tony, if you could give your THREE BEST attributes to a 225 c.i. Slant Six engine, please. You know that motor like nobody's business ! Thanks. Great video, as always.

    I want to thank you for the videos. They are awesome it sure does make sense how the engine works now I've been working on cars underneath the shade tree for about 50 years. I used to buy dodges all the time and I had to slant six which I love but in 1975 I bought a Dodge pickup that fell apart in one year and the dealership just give me SHIT so from then on I never bought one vehicle. I got about three friends that talk about engines and working on so they're getting your videos

    Sweet part 2! Some people may or may not know that these engines were also In Vermeer 1600A drum chippers. Rated at around 110hp. Think it was an 1985 ish model. Big.pulled behind a dump truck. My family had one when I was a kid for their tree business. The engine never had problems in that thing. It got ran super hard to Full Throttle and then just bog down to nothing with a giant branch..... maybe cough a little bit , but it always Reved right back up. Sounded pretty good screaming WOT on the chipper too. Never forget that sound.

    Hi Tony!!! i love your channel. i used to read a lot of old car magazines in the 80s-90s. i remember an article about a guy who was dragging a slant 6 and getting mid 11s!!! with nitrous of course. i believe that the slant also had a brief run as a "chrysler marine" inboard-outboard motor in the late 60s / early 70s era. i think 225s only got the marine duty

    ADHD (they don't separate it from ADD anymore) actually correlates with intelligence! The mind works faster than your mouth. Also, ADHD can actually be a huge positive because it allows people to hyperfocus on subjects that they love. You probably do have adult ADHD, but at this point you've adapted and excelled. I'll say that if you didn't take up a career that you loved, you'd be screwed. Your passion and excitement is more infectious than coronavirus!

    Good video and your lightweight dart goes awesome as I said in he previous part one video ther was a alteredcar with a slant 6 and I believe he was going low 11 I believe it was that or less I remember it was all the talk at the track at least with the mopar boys awesome video I didn’t think anyone welded spider gears anymore hmm awesome video now you got a cold go in the house and warm up keep em comming

    I've owned 2 Dusters (70, 71) and a Demon in the same range (can't recall specifically) with the slant 6. One of the best engines ever built for durability and dependability. Also loved the 318 my dad had in his '69 Satellite and I had a '68 340 Dart. I miss real 'Dodge Brothers' cars.
