Yet another superbly made and clearly illustrative demonstration in favour of the Technoline BL700N over the Youshiko charger. So glad I saw this, along with your other comparison video, prior to purchasing. Nice one indeed. Best wishes - Karlo.
Excellent testing video. Glad you stopped when you did on the YC4000 - I was thinking too much more heat and the batteries could rupture and explode! The Technoline doesn't appear to cost too much more (if at all) and that will be my next purchase. - Thanks again.
This is very interesting and useful, thank you for doing this test. Do you think that perhaps the YC uses temperature difference rather than absolute temperature? I.e. it measured the temperature at the point of battery insertion, and then monitors for a defined temperature increase amount? It would be interesting to check this (albeit with a very small sample!) by starting the charge with the batteries at room temperature rather than pre-heated.
Quoting BatteryLogic on Amazon, as I had a similar question to you: 'The BL-700 is the high specification version of the Technoline BC700 battery charger. The BL-700, which has been sold exclusively in the UK for over ten years, specifies very tight tolerance components throughout which in turn lead to very accurate readings and performance. The Technoline BL-700 is the original intelligent battery charger that was first sold in the UK in 2007 and has an established pedigree and thoroughly proven service record. BC700 versions of this charger sold in the UK tend to be older European versions without the latest firmware or hardware which is under constant revision and improvement. For example, the latest BL-700 battery charger incorporates N-Start charge technology which will successfully charge a fully depleted battery that a previous BC700 version with older firmware might reject due to a combination of high impedance and low voltage. The BL-700 is also supplied with a soft touch rubber finish. Please be aware of the many misleading clones of this battery charger that have recently appeared which are crudely based on old BC700 firmware that have no association with Technoline whatsoever'
Please stop doing that. You're ruining some perfectly fine Eneloops!! There's no need to do that. The Youshiko doesn't have the thermistors to sense the battery temps. You can see that in the slot.

Hi What's the difference between this and the BC-700N charger? I wanna make sure I'm buying the right one
