    I have the Uniross version of this charger. I use the USB outlet to power a
    small (80mm) computer fan to keep the batteries and charger cool throughout the charging process. At 5v this 12v fan runs at a gentle rate and with only a slight amount of noise. I have a finger guard on each side of the fan.
    Good review, thanks.
    I would only say that the charge rate you mention is 700 milliamps (ma) and the accumulated charge is in milliamp-hours (mah)

    This charger is just a cheap copy of the excellent Technoline BL700 which I've used many years. I bought one of these Yoshiko models but found it to be annoyingly unreliable over tine and find the readings it gives are erratic and far from accurate compared to the BL700 when measured on test equipment we use at work. There are quite a few TH-cam reviews of the YC4000 which highlight some of its problems .
    If you do fancy this charger then forget the Yoshiko YC4000 which is an utter rip off when compared to the same model, the 7dayshop intelligent charger and the Uniross Ultimate which are both available for just under £20 on eBay and Amazon are are EXACTLY the same as the Yoshiko YC4000 apart from the badge.
    If you really want to do it properly though then go for the Technoline BL700N which is what these other models are cheap copies of, the Technology BL700N is a legend and quite simply the best of the best.

    Hey Steve. Thanks for the video!
    I have a BQ-CC65 for Panasonic Eneloop Pro batteries. The battery power goes up to 1.51v.
    When I take out the battery and quickly put it back in, it goes down to 1.41v and starts to charge again up to full....which takes a good little while :/. I tested a new Powerowl with 3 Eneloop Proband they react the same, if this helps.
    Do you happen to know: Is the battery charger faulty or is this normal for batteries? If you could kindly recommend a fast battery charger for my Eneloop Pro or Powerowl. Thanks in advance!

    Hi thanks so much for this video! Do you know if a battery is taking days and days to discharge and refresh does that mean it’s dead? Some have said ‘null’ as soon as I’ve put them in so I’ve assumed this means they’re dead. But some just keep going and nothing happens. Thanks

    I have this charger and I am trying to figure something out. If I stick a partially charged battery in it obviously doesn’t know immediately how many mAh is in it so is the mAh number shown on the screen the total charge it has put in? So for example if a 2000mAh battery is put in but already has 1500mAh of charge in it would it show up to 500 on the mAh charge screen and then say full?

    • @airgunology
      @airgunology  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. The charger would basically say there was no battery present and you would then know. You can discharge and charge, then do the maths with the charge taken over time and also decide.

    Hey Steve, just watched your review and having bought one of these a few months ago I've come to only needing to use it now and can't get the eneloop batteries to register on the device, it is always showing me the 'null' text, wonder if there's anything I need to do apart from trying to fit them in differently (which isn't working at all)?

    • @airgunology
      @airgunology  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume they are not Lipo style batteries. All I can suggest is you remove and refit them. It could be that the batteries are totally dead and can not be recovered and the null.

    Hi mate
    Great vid, very clear and informative on something i find fairly confusing.
    This is a very basic question but what does the voltage display mean? Is it the voltage held in the battery or the output of the battery or what? It makes no sense to me.
    I’m current-ly charging 4 brand new Eneloop pros 2 read 1.39 volts 1 reads 1.40 volts and the other is switching between the two.

    • @airgunology
      @airgunology  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In simple terms, voltage is the "power" needed for your device to run. The MaH is the capacity of the battery or how long it will supply a voltage. Normal batteries the voltage goes from 1.5v downwards to about 1.1v overtime. These batteries stay at 1.5v for 7 hours.

    • @airgunology
      @airgunology  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also the voltage will never stay constant in normal batteries for the reason I gave above. Those env batteries will go to a voltage say 1.4 to 1.5 and then fluctuate as the power is drained, shown by the voltage changes you are seeing during the charging process.

      So run for 7 hours it will give off 10.5 volts? Why don’t they write the capacity as 10.5 volts?

    • @airgunology
      @airgunology  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not quite. They will run at 1.5v for approx 7 hours due to the 3000mah rating and the technology inside the battery. You haven't quite got the terminology correct and not as simple as 7 x 1.5v

    Hi-ho all. As I write this, I am literally holding (on my gut) my "La CROSSE® TECHNOLOGY" Model:BC-900, which is BASICALLY the same as you are reviewing. I believe "La CROSSE" is the 'origin' producer, selling the unit design to many other companies to sell. Also, there ARE several different 'models' of the same charger, usually different in minor cosmetics, like the 700 and the 800 - VERY slight differences. I seem to recall there might also be difference in the amount of currents choice or such. The one I have... actually FOUR!... do not have the 'USB' charger. I just might need to get two or more of these... :-). But, other than my three FUNCTION buttons being straight across, and the numbers of the four SELECTION buttons being shaped a bit differently/larger and on the top of the buttons, everything else IS pretty much the same... which is GREAT!!! Oh, HEY. I see MY model just to the right on the page here... "10 Best NiMH Chargers 2017". How 'bout that?!?! I got my four about ten or so years ago and ALL are just like new.
    This is a GREAT charger. The main thing I like is being able to REFURBISH, or re-condition batteries. It will charge / discharge / charge / discharge a battery repeatedly until it obtains what ever the result it is 'looking' for. Also, I like being able to choose the charge rate (miliAmps) as you sometimes want a FAST charge (not good for the battery) or the really SLOW for over night. It's a great thing to be able to SEE the amount of voltage your battery has.
    The are a few other functions that make this a big value for the money. I highly recommend this to all friends and family who are looking for a really good charger, and for a great price.
    You did a good job with this video, buddy. Keep up the great effort.

    I have another question.
    This charger only tells me how many mAhs it’s put in in the session. It doesn’t seem to show how many is in the battery. It just says “full” when it’s full. Can any chargers tell you how many mAhs are in? Surely this is way more important.

    • @airgunology
      @airgunology  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I now, no chargers can do this as it is not possible to measure MAH remaining. The only way (that this charger will report) is to drain the battery, re-charge it and measure what it puts in. What you are asking for is not possible any other way with any charger.

    • @airgunology

    Cheers. btw, there's no milliamps "per hour". Q=It, the charge is current times time and the current is just current.
    So you charge a 2000mAh (milliamp hour)battery at 1000mA (milliamps), it takes 2 hours. There is no "amps per hour". There are milliAmpHours per hour but that is just milliamps.

    I agree with Jim Yelland, commenting below. The Youshiko YC4000 IS a cheap copy of the Technoline BL700N. The Youshiko cannot charge a battery from dead flat and it has NO OVERHEAT Temperature Control (although it claims to have). Take a look on here at the TWO excellent (seperate) videos comparing the Youshiko to the Technoline. Pay the few extra quid and get the Technoline.BL700N (must be the BL700N, not the BL700).

I own both the Yoshiko and Technoline versions and was disappointed to conclude that the Yoshiko is simply a low quality imitation of the Technoline BL700N by comparison in terms of build qualty and accuracy.
